So happy to hear another reseller share my mantra..."There's plenty of stuff in the universe".
That’s right!! There’s so much that we’re throwing it away and shipping it all across the globe! There’s enough for everyone!!
This was a fun video. I too have been selling since 1999 and my sales are almost non existent. Wish I could go back to the beginning when almost every item sold. That was really fun.
Awww man!! Those were the days!!
Thanks so much for watching!!
Yes, quilts ARE works of art❣️ I am 65 and have a quilt made by my Grandmother for me when I was a child. She made one for each of her Grandchildren. 💕
Great video!
Thank you from Texas. 😊
Isn’t it cool the way these quilts have stood the test of time! I bet your quilt from your grandma is GORGEOUS!
Thanks so much for watching!!
Kristin you are AMAZING ❤️ You are always sharing ways to help others. Thank you so much. ❤️🤗❤️
You’re too sweet Donna!! Always appreciate your comments and support! You’re awesome!
That trip where you got all those fabulous quilts was amazing. I can't imagine those going to the landfill.
I love it that yo remember that video!!! 💖💖💖
Thanks so much for watching! You’re awesome!
Great video as always Kristin. Always enjoy your videos. Hope your doing well my friend❤
Thanks so much SB!! Really appreciate you watching!
I pick up quilts too and I started taking sewing lessons last year and I’m almost done with my 1st quilt! I love yours. I’m curious how you figure out how to price them. But my best sale last year was a painting of an ocean. I love to pick up paintings when I can as well. Art is my favorite thing to sell. I should get more on the bandwagon of shoes. But the fan is cool too!
I wish I was better about picking up art!! I bet you have done really well with that!!
Congrats on learning to quilt!! I’d love to see it!!
Thanks so much for watching!!
I have never seen a quilt at the Goodwill Bins that I have been to.
me either. but it depends on your bins. mine doesnt put out anything with electronics, blankets, belts, etc
@@GarageSaleMonster That's a bummer, must be a management reason or that most people who shop there only want clothing. I like the hard goods at the Goodwill Bins more than clothing. I look at clothing last not first.
Honestly, I don’t see them at EVERY location and I don’t find them everytime. But I love it when I do!!
My grandmother & aunts quilted & sold some of those quilts for quite a
bit of money. People love quilts.
I bet you have some really nice ones that they made?! And you’re right, people love them!!
Thanks so much for watching!!
I have to ask - what kind of shape are the quilts in that you find at the bins? Are you finding quilts in mint condition?
Great Bolos Kristen for 2023 I will have to rewatch your quilt videos. I love saving quilts at the bins😊💐
Thanks Donna!! I love it that you love quilts too!! 💖💖🐿️
@@ARuralSquirrel I have always wanted to make one. My grandmother made me one when I went off to college 😊💐
I love this format. Keep teaching.
Awwww!! Thank you!! You’re so sweet!! I really appreciate you watching!!
You are right quilts sell for good money. I saw some at an auction last summer that were Amish Made From Shipshewana. I have never sold one on eBay.
Yeah, auctions are where I used to see them the most too! They usually cost more than bins pricing though. 😔
@@ARuralSquirrel It depends on the auction and what draws people to it. Auctions with lots of tools and fishing stuff those people don't are not there for quilts or housewares. The usually leave when those items come up for bid.
Wow! Just incredible!!! They just kept getting better too!! 😍😍😍😍😍
LOL! Thanks so much for watching! Hopefully, this year it gets better and better too!! 🤪🐿️
Great sales!! I need to do my top 10 video as well!
Oh my gosh, YESSSSS! You should!!! Yours are so different than mine and it blows my mind to see your reels of what sold!! It’s great!!
😊 Love the quilts!
Saaame!! 💖🐿️
Thanks so much for watching!!
That fan was a great find! Vintage fans are overlooked for sure.
Wasn’t that thing just so cool?? (No pun intended!) 🙃 Hope you’re finding some amazing stuff Brenden!!
I sell most of my quilts for 300-1000. They are longer tail at those prices but I will wait for a buyer who understands the work involved and are willing to pay fir it. Yes been quilting since 1970s. Great video!
Wow! Great money for your quilts! Definitely worth the wait!!
Love the info!! Thanks for putting this together. ❤😊
Thanks for watching!
I was sitting beside you at the Greenwood bins the other day. Someone at the bins said they saw me in a UA-cam video on your channel and when I looked you up I was like I remember her! I think the Tendo guy was there that day too I didn't recognize him either.
Oh yeah!! Hi! I haven’t put a video out from that trip yet but it’s super cool to see you again! It was fun to see Tendo there too!! Hope you found some great stuff!! Thanks for stopping by!!
@@ARuralSquirrel Yes it was an older video and you could really only tell it was me because of my yellow bag. I'll probably be at the bins the next time you come. There's a few of us who go just about everyday.
@@mikeproctor My next video coming out has that good conversation that we had sitting on that bench - hope you like it! 🙃
@@ARuralSquirrel Cool! I've talked to Tendo the last couple days he was there.
Love love love this video !! Favorite was the fan !
Aaawwwww!! THANK YOU VICKIE!!
I’m so glad you watched! Thank you
Great enthusiasm
Thank you!! 💖🐿️
Hi ya Squirrel!! Hope are fine. Thanks for your time and information 😊
Doing well - appreciate you asking!!
Thank you so much for watching!
Beautiful quilts! I love them. I have one for sale now. The top was stitch by hand, but quilted by machine. It’s been a slower seller.
Here’s hoping you get it sold soon!
Great video and info!
Hey Julie!! So super cool to see you!! 💖💖🫶🏻💖
WOW a great video and thanks for sharing. I agree about saving items from the every growing trash pile.
Right! We need to do what we can to keep quality items from being lost forever!
i bought a ring last week for $386.00 and sold it for $1300 today!!!!
WOOOOW!! That’s fantastic!! Great flip!! Congrats!
I’m very impressed by those boots! I’ve never heard of that brand but I’ll keep my eyes peeled for them.
Those boots floored me!! I had NO IDEA what I had when I found them!! I was gonna take them to junkstock and probably would’ve sold them way too cheap!! Thank goodness I looked them up!!
@@ARuralSquirrel You have very good instincts, whether natural or from your years reselling, or both!
Hey Kristen, thank you for your educational video. I'm making notes while I'm sick in bed with COVID. I have sold a few small quilts myself for good money. I try a little bit of everything. I try to keep an open mind. Thanks again Kristen great to see your video.
Oh nooooo!! Hope you’re feeling better!! And that you’ll be out sourcing some of these quilts soon!!
Are you on a ladder to take the full quilt pic? Love the quilts!
LOL!! That ought to make for some good video!! 😂😂 You should see me do that!! 😂😂😂
🤔That’s a good idea!!
Such great info! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much for watching! Really appreciate it!! 💖🐿️
Where have you been? Missing your videos. ❤
Thanks so much for checking in!! Lots of family things to take care of but I just put out a new video yesterday. Thanks so much for hanging in there with me!! 💖🐿️ Appreciate you!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge ❤
Grateful that you stopped by to check it out!! 💖🐿️
Hi Kristen 😊. Great video.😊
Hey!! Thanks so much!! Really appreciate you watching and commenting!!! 💖💖🐿️
New sub here ! Thanks for sharing ! ❤
Yay! Thanks so much for the sub support! Really appreciate it!! Glad you’re here!
Enjoy your teaching videos. Do you have anything about listing on Ebay ... how to get started, hints and tips? Thanks in advance.
I haven’t done anything like that yet. Probably because my friend, Scot, Cha-Ching King on UA-cam, does such a spectacular job with those tutorials. Please check him out and tell him I said hi!!
Thanks so much for watching!! 💖🐿️
This was a great video. Do you wash the quilts or do you have a video about how you process the quilts for listing?
Great question! I have a video coming out soon about how I date the quilts and what to look for - maybe I should add info about how I process them too!! Thanks for the interest! I’ll work on that!
Hi Kristin. Love your videos. How are you photographing the quilts? Are you standing in a ladder?
LOL! Have you seen me do this??! 😂😂🤪😂Because sometimes I do!! 😂
Any tips on how to figure out what year the quilt was made?
You can guess pretty well by the materials used (ie: fabric content/patterns) and the stitching style. If you can get the history on the quilt, that helps too. If not, look to see if you have a quilt guild in your area. They can help you identify the pattern and possible age.
How do you know how to price your quilts? 😮
Great question! Depends on a lot of factors. Age, workmanship, materials, colors, pattern, and hand done details. Doing your research on each piece can be key to knowing the value! I've even worked with quilt appraisers and guilds before to learn more about the history, origin, and value of a quilt.
Maybe I need to do a video on how to do this...💡
Thanks!!
When will u be in st louis again?
I hope I get to hit those STL bins again soon! Gotta work through all this stuff I’ve got to get listed first though! 😅🥴 is that your regular bins location?
@@ARuralSquirrel yes I in st louis now may not get to the bins though. Maybe next month for my bday
We'll never look at quilts the same way!
Heyy!! Love it that you stopped by to say hi!! Thanks so much!! You guys are GREAT!!
I still kick myself because there were 4 vintage quilt tops for 5.99 at the GW about 6yrs ago and I only picked up 2. The colors / prints were not that great on 2 of them. This was before I looked everything up at the store, so when I got home and saw what $$ I left behind I was not happy. Of course they were gone the next day when I went., so I look up everything!!! My son lives in Denver so looks like I need to make a road trip soon....
Oooohhhh nooooo!! That regret is strong! I know that feeling!! I bet you don’t make that mistake again though! LOL! 😅
Thanks so much for watching!!
how are you cleaning the quilts?
Great question! Honestly, it depends on the quilt. I’ve had several people ask some good questions like this and I think I’m gonna do a video soon about things just like this and answer all of them.
Thanks so much for watching!!
It’s too bad that we don’t have bins here, I’d have to drive 70 miles or more to locate one. I think it’d be so much fun to sift through the bins.
I love sifting too!! Now that I’ve moved, my closest bins are either 58 or 69 miles away too. I have had to plan my trips but I do because I love going!! Hope you go too!!
@@ARuralSquirrel hopefully I can find a friend to go with me and make it a day of fun!
I have made a large amount of quilts but haven't been able to get them quilted. So they are only quilt tops. I would like to sell them, any suggestions?
They are also worth listing and selling! I’d make sure to call them quilt tops in the title and reiterate that in the description and make sure to take good pictures and you should be good. Good luck!!
Do you choose auction on eBay
Great question! Honestly, I rarely use an auction style listing but if I’m are not sure of value, I sometimes do.
😎🙏
💖🐿️ Always good to see you Jeff!!
