I do see your point, but I'm sorry to say that I can't honestly say I agree with it. Since they have a lot of things to them that you don't often find in other genres as you say, you have something typical for them only. VK-artists themselves say that there's about an equal amount of attention on the style and the music, which is probably true. To me, however, it seems like VK-bands belongs to one "main genre", yet they use a lot more different influences than other bands. That's what I love. :)

I found the band on some torrent and I have to say they are great, Of course, we can debate marketing and stuff..but who cares. If I can listen to the album at least 5 times, it's good. no further debate necessary. and this song just kicks ass. nuff said.

VK is more a clothing style and a marketing trick when it comes to getting fan bases. A lot of VK bands have obvious marketing tricks that you don't often see in other genres (crossdressing and fanservice are part of it, but also over the top videoclips and clothing styles).
