Awesome. Yasuno Shihan was being very generous here ... allowing us to view the techniques clearly.

Regarding my comment and the various replies to my comments, the title of the video says it all. It is an Aikido DEMONSTRATION.

yes but it’s an event where most major aikidokas from japan do demos. there’s no need for him to show off the aikikai style that many do, that’s also perfectly displayed by moriteru. so he shows the things he’s working on himself, which is still aikido.

My point exactly, Hermank. You are not brainwashed and you have not drank the Koolaid, regarding aikido.

This is NOT a good demonstration of Aikido.
There is no continuous motion or flowing. The nage is NOT using the uke's energy and force against him. There is no redirection. There is a lot of stopping and starting.
    This is poor Aikido.
I have 20 years of experience in the martial arts with 4 of it in Aikido, in which I attained the rank of nikkyu.

Have you 20 years experience? Ok, Yasuno sensei have more than 40 years of experience, more than 40 year of experience in Aikido. If you don´t like, ok. Keep Calm.

Vc tem 20 anos de experiência em artes marciais e pelo jeito, não aprendeu nada, não tem humildade, nem sabe respeitar os mais graduados.

Ahora resulta que tú sabes más que Yasuno sensei lol

Nokygomy, Porque respondes LOL? Porque tienes la mente cerrada? Yo e estudiado tres otras tipos de artes martiales, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, Shotokan Karate y Wing Chun Kung Fu. And in those arts, I have challenged myself by sparring, putting helmets on, getting punched, kicked, taken down, and trained on the ground. I have particiapted in grappling competitions, as well as point sparring competitions, none of which is done in traditional Aikido. In traditional Aikido, Uke and Nage are practicing together, where uke gives nage his body to practice techniques. It is very static, to initially learn the basic techniques, but it is not realistic.
All I am saying is that all martial artists should keep an open mind, and not be brainwashed by either their teacher or the art that they practice.

Hanz Jano, I am very calm.
Please see my response to Nokygomy.
To recap, all martial artists should keep an open mind about their teacher and the art that they practice. Do not be brainwashed by either.
Has Yasuno Sensei ever trained or practiced in other martial arts? Has he put himself in harms way by either sparring or actually fighting? I don't know. What I do know by watching this video, is that the students are taking typical ukemi and being "respectful" of their Sensei.
