Such songs include Mede Makoma Ne Me Kra (Mafi Nkoasom Mu), Me Nyame Nim Nea Ehia Me, Wonhye No Enyimyam, Amen Amen Nhyira Ne Anuonyam, and others, originally composed by Kofi Ani Johnson. He is well known for his highlife song "Madamfo Pa Beko".

Kofi started his career as an Agriculture Labourer at Mepon near Asamankese in 1956. He later attended the Agriculture Training School at Bunso and was stationed at Mpamu near Afram Plains in 1960.
He joined the Ghana Police Band as a composer vocalist in 1964 and composed songs like Shuu Lege, Yen Sempa, Floyd Robertson, Calypso International Trade Fair song that backed the first Trade Fair film in 1967. He resigned from the Police service with the rank of Sergeant in 1970 and later formed the Parrots Dance Band (NKOO) at Nsawam and outdoored the band at the Apollo Theatre, Accra on the 8th August, 1971.

Hmmm ! This is memory lane. Kofi Ani Johnson and the Parrots Band was dance band on the 1970s. After the Parrots Ani formed a gospel group called Kofi Ani Johnson and the Sisters. Itcwas a delight to see the Sisters on sax and trumpets when in action. We happened to be fellow church members at God's Church of Peace along with Ani's old time friend Kwaku Duro whose name appeared in his popular 'Madamfo Pa B3ko' song. Waaassoooo I have been lent into memory lane really. I remember Ani, the Sisters and Kwaku Durowell when in the same church church those days. Ani snd tyecSusters akways opened the Praus3s and Worship sessions with very good and inspiring gospel music that kept many church members on our feet in hilarious moments. Ani and the Sisters were at their usual best during time for collection/offertory. Ani and the Sisters never missed in action during church sessions at the time for
' Adansedie' time at the church service. He made church sessions at Gods Church of Peace interedting. He usually lauched and unveiled all the new gospel songs meant to be produced at the church sessions before they could be heard . Hmmmm ! And quite recently, in my solitary thinking in the confort of my room, i tried to Google for Kofi Ani Johnson. And the info I had on him was scanty. I therefore wondered how a gem of a musician like Ani can so easily be forgotten as not much is heard of most of his songs even when I youtubed to catch a glimpse of some of his songs. The question that came to my mind then is, were the songs of Ani not patented. OR does it mean that musical works after the death of the originator of the music reduce into folklore after a certain period to allow people to pick on them or what ? I only want to be educated oooo ! Are any of the members who constituted Ani Johnson smd the Sisters alive. And what about his good old time friend, Kwaku Duro ? AND does the Church of Peace, old Shalom Greeting members, have a day of remembrance for Ani who made the church become popular in the 1980s. The church buiding was in Kokompe area, and I hope it's still there . The Kumasi Assembly was also near the Airport Roundabout where it started from.

Thank you very much. If you get time, why not do a hit more research and write a book. Just a thought to build an archive of these great people.

This song is like 40 years old I guess. As far back as the late 80s when I was growing up, it was in existence.
