It looks amazing. My only feedback is that it feels though that there is no alternative to control the menu without the viewfinder. The viewfinder costs 8,200, which isn't something that you want to consider to have to buy. There should be an option to control from another menu
Hey Ron, thanks for the feedback. It's also possible to control the exposure parameters of the camera, enter playback, format the drive and toggle the wifi connection through the side buttons, with any SDI monitor. Full menu control is also available over wifi or ethernet with either the web remote app or the Camera Companion app, both of which are free. Furthermore, the GBP-1 allows for custom control interfaces to be made and there are several third party products that use our CAP interface to offer camera control over ethernet - SmallHD monitors for example.
@@ARRIChannel Thanks for the fast response! So to some it up, any monitor I'll connect through the SDI will show a menu I can control? And SmallHD monitors even have more control? or the SmallHD only when they connect through the Ethernet connection? Thanks, have a great day
Any SDI monitor will give you the option to control FPS, WB, EI, Shutter and ND position as well as enter playback, format your drive and turn WiFi on and off with the shortcut buttons available on the camera left side. With an additional ethernet cable, some of these functions can also be adjusted from the monitor itself, best to check with SmallHD for more info on that.
This viewfinder cannot be used with ALEXA Mini, but will be compatible with future ARRI digital cameras. More information on: www.arri.com/en/learn-help/learn-help-camera-system/frequently-asked-questions/alexa-mini-lf-faq#accordion-84200
Yes, it's possible to flip the MVF-2. "The general functionality and layout are similar to MVF-1. MVF-2 has a new 4” rotatable flip-out IPS/LCD display for menu control or live image and a regular viewfinder eyepiece. The new flip-out display introduces a new user interface design that is reminiscent of older models in terms of functionality but offers more flexibility with the display. New cables allow a length of up to 10 m/33 ft, enabling MVF-2 for camera remote control." www.arri.com/en/learn-help/technology/viewfinders
