That was a awesome day at the refuge for sure , I used to launch on the east ramp across the bayou from the 2 ramps on the west side , that's the inside waters and there's all kind of marsh bayous back in there , nobody hardly goes there and there's lot of crabs and shrimp also..... I used to crab near Bayou Chene' on the old Homer Nugier marsh canal , Used to be and probably still is some awesome crabbing , HUGE male and females in that canal , it's not connected to any of the bayous around it , it's leveed off ..... Closest boat ramp is Hebert's boat landing south of the old Miss Ralph's store in Boston area....
