Thank you! This product is exactly what I want! Because then I can keep moving it closer to outside! Not only that, but during rainy season in Florida, I can keep one in the lanai that id covered and my baby wouldn't have to go out in the rain! He will know that grass is where to do business! I would get the medium size right away and not bother with the small. Now I just have to get the Sweetie Pie!
This is a great idea! Bring the nature indoors! Using the grass patch will also most likely make them feel more comfortable going potty outside in the grass as well!
Kelly! I’m so excited to adopt one of your adorable Sweetie Pie Pets! I was so happy to see you review Fresh Patch because my last two dogs were rescue dogs. Fresh Patch was a God send because of their past issues. I’m hoping my new puppy Sweetie Pie Pet will be good with pee pads but I can’t say enough good things about Fresh Patch!! Thank you so much for your educational videos. They are helping me so much! ❤️
YAY, Heather! I’m so excited to help you get a sweetie pie to love 💕 How cool that your previous sweetie pies had success with Fresh Patch. I do love that it’s environmentally friendly, but I wish it was as cheap as potty pads. We start all of our puppies on pee pad training at age 4 weeks so your new baby should come to you mostly trained 👍🏻 I’m glad you find my videos helpful. If you have specific questions, feel free to ask. The questions are inspiration for video ideas 😊
I was thinking of getting this for my soon-to arrive 8 week old puppy. The biggest pro is that they can relieve themselves on this without the worry of getting parvo (or any other disease carried in dog feces and urine). However, The trainer I spoke to said the risk of these viruses infecting my puppy is so low that I could just walk him outside still just as long as it’s not a dog park.
I tried some fake grass squares a while back and after he used it a few times I replaced it and put the used one in the garden hoping he would have a designated spot. It worked! And then he got more hormones and started lifting his leg so wouldn't use them at all. I have a potty pad in a plastic tray holder that goes down at night but he won't wee on it.😂 He woke me at half 3 in the morning yesterday, but it's usually around 7 so I can't complain. Serves me right for doing my celebratory 'chicken dance' every time he used the gate post! He's his mama's babybaba. So tell that to the therapist! 😂😂😂 Much love little Birds xxxxxxx
If u poot a fishing bell on your front door with a thumb tack and some fish line tie a dogy treat to the string tied to the bell tack it right next to the door frame low enuff and show you're fur baby to ring the bell to show u he or she needs out side but i bet this will help just be Patient and with the use of this pad i think its a good idea hope all can see this my lil rocky is still learning
@@Oxfire95965 He is totally house trained now, and has regular times for going into the garden but I wish I could persuade him that it's ok to pee on the pad at night. It gets very cold in Scotland in the winter. 😂😂He poops on the pad if he's desperate but now that he has a routine that's very rarely. My last dog 'performed ' on command so if I was going to leave her for a while I knew she wouldn't need out, and it meant that if I was taking her out with me on the bus or train then she wouldn't need to go for a few hours.
I agree with you Would be a great idea for puppies who are first being potting trained so they know from the start and not having to retrain where to go. Also would be good for dogs who already know what grass is
@Cailin Carnegie That's a good tip, I will try that when I buy that grass you can indoor train your dog on. I am going to add some grass they like from outside to it. I have them litter box or box trained now. So happy, I put two boxes down in the main areas they run through and they go with ease.
I was so excited to see this! I just ordered one last week and it’s being delivered in a few more days. My father died last week and I’ve taken in his Chihuahua/Maltese mix and added her to our family. She’s used to a giant yard with grass everywhere and we live in a small townhouse with a tiny balcony and no yard. She’s been holding her pee when I walk her and then pees on the artificial grass on the balcony (that can’t be cleaned very easily). My little Judy uses potty pads which are actually cheap terry hand towels that I wash on the deep clean cycle with bleach like the old school cloth diapers because like you, I don’t want to create a huge carbon footprint with disposable potty pads. I’m hoping to teach her to use the real grass patch (since that’s what she’s used to) instead of the turf out on the balcony. Wish me luck! 🍀
AC Williams omg bless your heart ❤️ I’m sorry to hear about your father. Thank you for caring about his fur baby and giving her a loving family. Yay, I think the fresh patch might be exactly what she needs. It really is a good idea. I’m still working with my girls to use it because I think it’s so much better than potty pads. I love your method btw, of washing the pads for re-use. You’re a dedicated mamma! 💕❤️ let me know how she does on the fresh patch 🙏🏻
Dogs graze on grass - it is a natural medicine for them. I'm in the Pacific NW where grass is everywhere and I always walked my dogs several times a day. Having a tiny dog is a whole different ball game. I do like that there are no chemicals to make them sick. Thank you
Hi Kelly, what do you suggest doing, when the dog stands with all four paws on the puppypad or freshpatch, but has a bad aim and is peeing on the edges of the pad/patch?
I praise them for peeing where they’re supposed to and wipe up the mess. Accidents happen occasionally and so long as they’re going where they’re supposed to, all we can do is tell them good job ❤️
Oh, that’s good to know it’s available in Europe now 👍🏻 I guess as long as your sweetie pies do good with their outdoor potty spot, no need for the grass patch. Hopefully it’s not too cold in the winter time. Mine hate to go outside when it’s cold or raining.
What I great idea! Years ago I actually went to my local home supply/nursery to see if they had any sod, which at the time they didn't. This is great as you don't have to be concerned about parvo or worms in yard or neighborhood where other dogs may have wandered. I think starting pups on it would be best & to transition to outside. You don't have to clean box as with pellets some use as puppy litter boxes. Thanks for sharing.
Cute video! I work at the warehouse, it’s a cool product! I use it for my one year old pup, I live with my grandparents and it’s made the cleaning up part easier on us(Me😁)she would sleep in like a bed at first with was funny but we got her to use it about after a week
Hi Kelly don't think I will be getting one for Tia she is used to the potty pads!! Still not fully trained but she knows she can use pads......when she goes outside in garden we praise her. But.......we can be out with her for ages she does nothing.......then comes indoors and uses her pad.😁😂😂❤️❤️❤️💕💕💕🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🇬🇧
I bought a Pellet litter for my future baby. I made my reserch and its good for cats. And I see few breeder using it. So im gonna train her to use a litter
@@katrinalove3394 Well I had to give up the wood pellet. My puppy too small she doesnt feel comfortable using it. So I gave it to the cat instead. What I do is im buying giant pad and I cut them in half so it last longer. I know somes use washable peepad too.
Hey Kelly, I love this concept of using the grass! Here in about 3 weeks I'm supposed to be bringing home 2 new baby girl chihuauahas and I am so excited. I have an idea for you and please let me know what you think. I've been trying to determine how I want to best establish potty training and what aids I want to use. What about incorporating the steps of your full proof potty training method in you other video but instead of using a pee pad, buying a large patch of real grass and placing both crates over it?
P.s. also I found this good diy video on how to make a glass patch from stuff at home depot or a hardware style store. ua-cam.com/video/7b8TIAsiWtg/v-deo.html

The Website doesn’t say how often you should replace it, it just says it’s up to the consumer. I guess it depends how much of the time your sweetie pie uses the grass until it starts to smell.
