Sonia's thrusts are built for breaking enemies. Very high "break damage" as in dropping the break resistance gauge. Resonance abilitues are based on 3 potential triggers: Successfully score a hit on an enemy; Get hit by an enemy; successfully break an enemy. Peace&Destruction is broken... Being a hate bond, you do get severely negative effects but those are based on getting hit. This bond has 1 resonance based on hitting enemies which is extremely useful. That is, Hate Break, which instantly breaks the target. Get 2 ppl in your party to have the Peace&destruction with Sonia, then she can insta break on top of being great at breaking in general. (she can even trigger hate break with her taunt because it is considered a hit) Sonia being great at break is not just her triangle attack but: - her royal shield force instantly downs enemies which makes them susceptible to breaking because downed enemies are susceptible to break. - million thrust is also a thrust thus has great break properties - provoke/taunt ability mixes well with hate break from peace and destruction bond - sonia has a self heal later on - sonia's evade dash is very useful Below is a sample on how broken Sonia is wrt breaking. As well as the Peace&destruction bond. SPOILERS: boss fight ua-cam.com/video/vxd02dJAQQE/v-deo.html

Great tips! Thanks for the area for the lock on tip! The premptive strikes are tricky as you have to sneak up behind and "encounter" them at the back without being detected! It tends to take a bit of time to master there... As well as predict the monster's field of vision there. My other tips I can offer after playing a few hours (optional): -There are some enemies such as rare monsters like the Master Egg in early game that wields 1000 EXP depending on luck. -In the second chapter, grind up to lvl 11 or above to make it easier in battle. I wonder what's the level cap in the game? -Marga stones are necessary because you will be doing a lot of travelling there, and if the party is at critical, you can use the stones to warp back to the town. Stock up as it will come in handy. -Save points DO NOT restore HP and MP, you have to find a campsite or back on the town's inn to rest to replenish the party's HP and MP. -Some characters like Kirika have great stats and weaponry (range attacks) but the defence is low so if you're using her as an party member, then evasion is required there. There's more to see and explore but sometimes is all about experimenting with the best character paradigms to dominate the battles.

I felt like an idiot once I figured it out, haha. It's like I pressed every button looking for it except for the right one. Glad to hear you're enjoying the game!
I don't think so. Had to open the digital manual to figure it out (kind of funny, too, since I used to give my brother a hard time for not reading game manuals but I rarely read them now, too, since I get a lot of games downloaded and even physical games usually don't include physical manuals anymore).
I was level 15-16 and had such a hard time with The blue dragon and Jinas :/ Than I remember "Well duh, I can turn into a Dragon!" which I proceeded to kick ass haha Nice vid. that lock on one gets people to forget about xD
the game doesnt tell you enough about Bonds but with the right bonds, the red dragon can be defeated at level 5-6 with just sonia and kirika ua-cam.com/video/z88X6NnyvDY/v-deo.html check pinned for time of video. i thought i beat jinas as well but have to find that clip
Hey thanks a lot for this video, it helped me a little to understand better the combat system and the options we have to improve the characters in battle.
Right now the games around $7. I'm considering in the game myself but the only problem I have with it is that the enemies seem a bit too easy, And it doesn't help that hard is locked behind new game plus

Thanks for the feedback and tips! Those rare eggs are definitely great for EXP and checking off some side quests as well.

I'm 31 hours in and didn't know. I don't remember a tutorial for it. Is there one and I just missed it?

Freaking Jinas, man. That fight without lock on is a total pain as a dragon, haha. The lesson as always is: I'm an idiot.
Haha that's pretty much life huh Live and learn
Though Jinas can rot in hell (still in ch. 2 so I don't know if he's a cool person) for now xD
