Ville Valo has that gothic and romantic vein in his way of singing, the lyrics of the songs, a mix between love and death, unbridled and melancholy passion with his magnetic and penetrating gazes and eyes that enchant, therefore distinguishes him and makes him and the band special.. for years I believed he was a vampire or a sort of dark angel, you either love or hate, there is no middle ground..

@Missy Kristine It usually isn't the sole cause. Kyo from Dir En Grey has always been an avid smoker and he's 44 now and his range has only gotten more impressive over the years. Drugs and alcohol do a lot more damage to your voice, two things that often also come with the rock and roll lifestyle.
