Dig a whole in the ground, put a chicken and a corded phone in. The other chickens will see this and go, what the heck is Henry doing in that hole on the phone. Bada bang bada boom, you got yourself a chicken trap.
I’m glad that i have such a good relationship with my chickens. I’ve only been bit twice and both those times I had my pointer finger out and near their beaks. I can pick up and hug my rooster (who I call pepperoni face) and he doesn’t struggle at all. He might get a little upset if I hold him too long. All my chickens are a real joy to have.
I saw an ingenious trap that was a piece of paper rolled to be a little cone shape, and it has a stick with a treat attached about halfway up the cone. The chicken pecks the treat and holds on to it and the cone comes up over their eyes and blocks their sight. Then you just scoop them up.
I’ve only ever had one chicken get out, so having them have the ability to avoid potential predators by gliding when the dogs aren’t outside is important. Definitely a good tip if you’ve got birds that like to escape enclosures and such.
I know that people do this and I guess I get the idea but I'm personally not a fan of clipping birds wings, these feathers will never fully regrow and will impair them for the rest of their life. I'd say get a higher fence, maybe even put a net on top of it to protect them from birds of pray.
@@mark_szekeres Yes, Mark. Very good. Birds moult! But Problem is that it takes a long time for all of the primary feathers to regrow, even longer if the bird is under environmental or mental stress. And tell me, do you think that their owner is going to leave them alone if they regain their ability to fly? No, then he has the problem of them running away again so, the easiest awnser is to clip them again. Additionally, while clipped the birds will still try to use their wings, or in the case of the video be thrown apparently which both can lead to injuries to the bird. This is why it is mostly discouraged when it comes to pets like parrots or parakeets, not so much for poultry, but it is still something I'd still not recommend because the loss of their ability to fly can cause unnecessary stress.
My chickens always came back if they left the pen bc they knew where the food and water was. Had one that would fly right to me every time she saw me. She was so sweet. I'm ok w flying chickens. That's how they were designed.
It must be nice to be this delusional 😁. If the chicken fly over the gate they will be eaten alive by racoons coyotes or other animals. I guess in ur world being eaten alive is not as a bad as not being able to fly 6 feet off the ground
It definitely works. Also, people who think chickens cannot fly are so wrong. Mine got 30 feet up into a tree one day. That’s when I knew I had to clip their wings. Must clip the right ones though and be careful because they can bleed out if you clip the wrong part or too high
My chickens are friendly and comfortable with me. I just walk up to them, put my hand by the back of their legs, and with my other hand i scoot the chicken by its chest onto my hand. And boom, the chicken is standing on my hand. Sometimes i like to gently hold it down and press it against my chest so it feels safe and so that it won't jump off or fly away from me. You can also put the chicken on your arm and let it roost on you.
@@V4p3rcl0ud watching one free roam chicken ALL DAY EVERYDAY is impossible 😂 much less more than one, you have fun defending your chickens with your guns lol
From experience, free range them in your area. They'll go everywhere finding their own food, the only thing very important is to give them a safe roost at night. High areas or caged and protected nesting areas usually work (like a chicken coop). Training them needs a little dedication tho 😅😅
My dad and grandpa had chickens, and when they cut their wings, they would only cut the wing on the left or right side not on both sides. It worked every time.
If the foxes want the chicken, they are going to get them with or without clipped wings. If anything it’s safer for them so they don’t escape and make it easier for the predators
As a chicken owner myself, just make sure you lower their roosting bar once you cut the feathers. They ain't gonna be able to roost if it's 7 ft up.
I thought the same
it also prevents them from escaping predators as well, I personally wouldn't recommend doing this unless you somehow have no coyotes or coons around.

Best time to catch a wild chicken is at night when they’re roosting or throw some food they love and catch them while they’re in the frenzy of eating
The hen should be called nugget😂
“My best chicken, Daryl” 😂😭💀💀💀💀
Dig a whole in the ground, put a chicken and a corded phone in. The other chickens will see this and go, what the heck is Henry doing in that hole on the phone. Bada bang bada boom, you got yourself a chicken trap.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Gemma or jenna
We spent the whole day trying to catch the mean old rooster. My son went out that night when they were all asleep in the coop and just grabbed him. 😂😅
A name for that chicken with no name yet should be called Henrietta…get it? Cause chickens are also called hens😅
A hen is a female chicken…
Sorry bout that
I’m glad that i have such a good relationship with my chickens. I’ve only been bit twice and both those times I had my pointer finger out and near their beaks. I can pick up and hug my rooster (who I call pepperoni face) and he doesn’t struggle at all. He might get a little upset if I hold him too long. All my chickens are a real joy to have.
It’s only really because I have seen and cared for them every day since they were chicks, and I have a lot more time than other people would have.
Awww Pepperoni Face😂😂
I’m also able to pick up my rooster, but the rest of my family can’t. His name is moody
“I GOT ER!!”
“SqUaAaCkKkK!!!!!!” 🐓
I saw an ingenious trap that was a piece of paper rolled to be a little cone shape, and it has a stick with a treat attached about halfway up the cone. The chicken pecks the treat and holds on to it and the cone comes up over their eyes and blocks their sight. Then you just scoop them up.
I love how terrified you look of those chickens 😂😂
Well, they're basically dinosaurs. Pretty intimidating creatures imo 😂😂😂
They may be lil birds, but they still fitting to leave a mark😂
Those bastards are terrifying
Name him poo poo tim
Name the chicken betsy😂
This is exactly the accent I expect to hear when aggressive chickens are involved.
Love how you clip pythons wings then throw her over the Gate 😂😂😂
“It’s doesn’t hurt the chicken”
Proceeds to throw the chicken 10 feet in the air** I swear I heard a loud thump when it landed
It'll live
He forgot once you clip the wings they can’t fly like normal 😂😂😂

quTA
It’s like the the legend of Zelda🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The way he said ‘her name is python’ made me cry out laughing😂😂😂
I’ve only ever had one chicken get out, so having them have the ability to avoid potential predators by gliding when the dogs aren’t outside is important. Definitely a good tip if you’ve got birds that like to escape enclosures and such.
The chicken names gonna be lucifer
I’ve classically trained mine to come when I say “C’mere!” They usually associate the calling with snacks.
Same lol
I just yell chick chicky. Suddenly you see 30 chickens running from their shade sheds.
"Yum-yum-yum!!" And my birds come running.
I know that people do this and I guess I get the idea but I'm personally not a fan of clipping birds wings, these feathers will never fully regrow and will impair them for the rest of their life. I'd say get a higher fence, maybe even put a net on top of it to protect them from birds of pray.
Guess what. Their feathers fall out and grow back. It's called molting 😮😮😮
@@KiriGoldfishQueenthese are for eating and breeding, they aren’t meant to be around king
Daryl ain't havin this😂😂😂
The chicken spider going to grow again
My chickens always came back if they left the pen bc they knew where the food and water was. Had one that would fly right to me every time she saw me. She was so sweet. I'm ok w flying chickens. That's how they were designed.
I miss my hens 😭
It must be nice to be this delusional 😁. If the chicken fly over the gate they will be eaten alive by racoons coyotes or other animals. I guess in ur world being eaten alive is not as a bad as not being able to fly 6 feet off the ground
I was thinking the same thing. This seems cruel to do to these chickens.
That is how they evolved.
They were also designed to roam free but clearly that doesn’t matter
“Without a heck of a fight”. 😂💀
It definitely works. Also, people who think chickens cannot fly are so wrong. Mine got 30 feet up into a tree one day. That’s when I knew I had to clip their wings. Must clip the right ones though and be careful because they can bleed out if you clip the wrong part or too high
yeah, like they for sure cant glide through the air but they can go up and get some momentum
IF ITS A HER, MYLA. IF ITS A HIM, MYLO. Because this chicken was so Mello with the process.
A good fishing dip net is handy and doesn't hurt the birds. I use one for my chickens ducks and geese.
Thought that said grease lol
You’ve effectively made that chicken dinner for any fox or raccoon / anything else this way as well!

Catch them in during sunset they are much calmer then. We have like 30 chicken ooo and there are 4 new borns ❤
Yes, right when they are ready to roost! But if you have to catch them during the day, try a net. 🤷♀️ it's worked for us for chickens and piglets! 😂
I can confirm this
Moanna
From experience, free range them in your area. They'll go everywhere finding their own food, the only thing very important is to give them a safe roost at night. High areas or caged and protected nesting areas usually work (like a chicken coop). Training them needs a little dedication tho 😅😅
Python is scary af 😂😂
Name her lot lizard because she ain’t gonna leave the yard
Just hope they aint free range 😂
Also now you gotta Lower their roosts.
My dad and grandpa had chickens, and when they cut their wings, they would only cut the wing on the left or right side not on both sides. It worked every time.
one wing does seem to work better.. throws them off balance badly.. I used to do it that way to my ex partners and worked a treat

If the foxes want the chicken, they are going to get them with or without clipped wings. If anything it’s safer for them so they don’t escape and make it easier for the predators
