Cape Town Opera’s Youth Development and Education team, in response to the Department of Basic Education’s latest press release mandating the suspension of all school contact sport and the 2021 ABC MOTSEPE/South African School Choral Eisteddfod (SASCE) programme, has expanded the e-learning programme that they created for The ABC Motsepe/SASCE learners in 2020.
The new e-learning programme (an extension of 2020’s Sing Like A Pro) is a series of seven instructional videos titled Sing Like A Pro - The Masterclass. Our Youth Development and Education Department worked with learners from partner schools as well as professional opera singers to produce the content. The videos are intended to educate as well as inspire; it enables the participants to remain engaged and busy during this period where they are unable to make music together.
CTO in collaboration with the Department of Basic education will distribute these videos to learners who participate in the ABC Motsepe/SASCE programme throughout South Africa.
