A thick oil will hold your sandpaper on the stone, without the tape being the way.

going that far and not honing the cylinder ..I guess taking out the piston was a bridge too far.

Went to rebuild my carter carb someone removed and noticed the butterfly is missing. How do you replace it?

Not sure. I would see if Mustie1 has a video on that.

Oh this is a fun one. Checkball & Spring can really suck and if either go flying out trying to install it best of luck locating them. Most likely why its off, it's on someone's garage floor. Depending on ones patients and skills its best sometimes to buy a new carb or send it to a pro. Easy to rebuild these carbs if the butterfly isn't removed and if it's the Walbro carb ( mostly on Magnums) just order the Carter style with main jet in very top. Much better carb and the engine will last so longer to as Walbro' s run way too lean making an engine with the Walbro run about a 100 degrees hotter.

I want to see ,,how to fix crankshaft for k301,, because I have a kohler k301 engine, and the cranckshaft is oval. Don,t exist in the part for change, original or aftermarket.

I would watch a video about the crankshaft. These engines are really well made, I think.

If it's oval, it needs to be turned down. A competent machine shop can handle this.

Take a look at your carb throttle shaft bushing, it is worn and causing a combustion issue. Your engine needs a new piston and rings, and the carb fixed.

WTF would even make one think this engine needs rebuilt? Must be because it turns over so easy? Kohler's have a combustion release so it will turn over very easy and there is nothing in this vid that makes it appear in need of being rebuilt, there's no smoke, starts/runs perfectly smooth, great power the man says. What a ridiculous waste of money & time it would be to tear such a good running engine down! WOW!!!

@@harryballz6358 Take a look at the burnt edge of the cylinder @ 13:51 -13:52. Stop the video, it is very clear. Now look at the missing portion of the piston. Can you see the exposed piston ring? This is the result of a vacuum leak, due to worn throttle shaft bushings. The damaged cylinder can be seen again @ 16:40. Look at the exhaust side of the piston. This is a widely known issue with K series Kohlers. Your comment was a ridiculous waste of typing.

Missing portion of the the piston? I don't think we're watching the same video. 😅 Cylinder looks pretty good, let her rip! ✌️
