Saw it as a kid and didn't understand it other than an investigator was bumped off and woke up in a TV Screen looking at a parking garage height restriction bar hence he thought he was Max Headroom.
Recent exposure has illuminated that it's from an Australian comedian that wasn't getting enough work so came up with that.

The skill he has at writing his lines is unparrelled. That kind of growl in his voice is amazing. The nice thing about that tirade he goes on is you can actually hear each and every word he says clearly...they are just "hidden" with his rap style and speed. I can never get enough of all the names he drops throughout the whole song and can listen to it on repeat over and over.

Just for context, if you didn’t know, the beginning part where he is quoting “I was gonna go easy on you not to hurt your feelings… but if he’s as bananas as you say, we’re in trouble, big trouble.” Is actually based on something that happened on November 22nd, 1987. The background, clothing, and sunglasses Eminem is wearing is what the assailant was wearing during the broadcast interruption. Someone wearing a Max Headroom mask (a fictional British tv character), hacked two Chicago, Illinois TV stations during a live broadcast… I believe it was a Chicago Bears football game. The very beginning lyrics are what was said during one of the hacks that took place. The anonymous person that hacked the station, has never been caught.

Also as he mentions in the song underground scenes often have mixed feelings about the people who make it mainstream such as Eminem. As well as he mentions that he often has misogynistic lyrics in his songs which not everyone is a fan of.

This is one of the biggest reasons why i love his style and respect him for over 20 years that I've known him. Even as a non-native, i still can follow and understand the majority of his supersonic. And also this is exactly why i don't like most of newer gens and i literally mean no offense or any kind of racism but most of black rappers as well. Because other than some actual few, they sing or "speak" in very distinct i don't wanna say accent but a way which makes harder for me to follow up and actually enjoy the song. I'm aware that in some places in the US, blacks have their own kind of cultural sort of "accent" which is totally fine. It's a bit harder to listen to for a nonnative but that is a language and a cultural thing which is perfectly fine. But the thing I'm talking about is just broken English and i don't enjoy it. After all what's the point if I'm not gonna listen and enjoy the lyrics when i listen to rap. Let's face it, it is not known for it's fantastic musicality or something like that. I have my classical for that purpose.

I came here for the reaction and was not disappointed! Aside from your sheepish looks, every time he said something outrageous or obscene, the sheer surprise and disbelief on your face when the Verbal Acrobatics began was worth every second. As you say, SHOOKETH!

@bakilivestream5501 Sheepish is a descriptor in the English language used to intone minor embarassment or foolishness. As if she were apologizing to us because Eminem was using foul language. Is this how far education has fallen or is English not your native tongue?

What makes this song so amazing, aside from the obvious rapping speed, are the lyrical content, subject matter, the double & triple entendres, the tempo & cadence switches, and rhyme delivery. He even gives a shoutout to all the artists he's been influenced from including the part that starts at 7:34, he mentions "Supersonic (JJFad)," a song/artist from the '80s. Eminem is referencing the last verse in Supersonic. The visuals in the video just add to the song too. Aside from the Max Headroom reference, he's subtly implying being plugged into "The Matrix."

I think that this one of the best songs that Eminem has ever done. I still think he should do a raw, freestyle album. I don’t think that if Eminem was trying come up now, he’d get cancelled so fast. For anyone who remembers when he started to come up with the Slim Shady LP and everything that surrounded him was crazy. Seeing Maggie’s face when he was doing lyric after lyric so fast. He’s a genius and there is nothing like him and going to be nothing else like him. Oh and Machine Gun Kelly isn’t the same, comparable, nothing.

Fun fact, Eminem said that when he sung the 7th verse of rap god, (the really fast part) he just made it up all at one time. He just spit out words he didint even think about it, he just said the words he didint even write it down. He just said a bunch of words. Wow.
