The merchant should be a standard mechanic for the game, I only miss the caravan battles like in warhammer

Exactly, would be so much better and different from other TW games.

with those battles it would be too risky lategame though. Maybe it is better without em. Agree they should have added merchant for all. I thought about it when I got game in my hands half year ago.

There's an issue with the hammurabi law legacy imo, in that passing powerful higher level laws can take upwards of 20 turns even with downsides. Even weak laws boosting food and stone by 6% can take almost 10 turns. Conversely you can go for small quick laws but this also has a downside. Only 9 slots. This is made worse by the fact that you can only repeal laws when your ruler dies. I guess you could suicide your ruler to game this but if you don't a 30 year old ruler is going to be living 90 turns at least. You can make some powerful stuff but only in the long long run. I think it needs some rebalancing in terms of time and when/if you can repeal laws.

I think you are right, even tho I really enjoy the mechanic. It could be improved of course.

Definitely should be a way to repel laws without your faction leader dying. I'm playing with immortal lords because it sucks having your unique Legendary Lord, full of charm and personality, be replaced with Prince Joe Default when they die.

For me the best is still Perseus the hero if you're into unit variety. Economy can easily be obtained by conquering and selling back cities. You increase your economy by reducing the enemies' and you can also get favorable diplomatic options. I've seen ai bend over backwards just to get their whole province whole again. Early game, i trade food only so i can raise multiple armies: one main balanced army, and one filled with archers. Fill them with holes first then finish them off with the main army.

I really think you should re-evaluate Thutmose, especially in comparison to Khufu.
You seem to have dismissed it purely on the grounds that it has a long preparation time but this isn't the drawback you seem to think. The thing you completely missed, though, is that Thutmose only works on Pillars of Civilisation cities and that makes it deceptively powerful.
Thutmose is an incredibly ironic Legacy because the historical Thutmose III conquered "half the known world" to usher in Egypt's Golden Age. The ultimate point of the Thutmose Legacy is that it allows to you spend gold to save the world by conquering it.
The preparation time isn't there to slow you down, it's there to increase your momentum by planning ahead. You said you shouldn't be attacking a city until you're ready yet and the Legacy of Thutmose makes you ready. This is especially so if you have it from Turn 1, and there's no better example than Amenmesse.
Typically speaking, Amenmesse is rarely ever in a position to attack Kawa before about Turn 10 at the earliest, and even then you're going to be facing a Tier III garrison in addition to whatever armies they have. Depending on your choices, of course, if you take Thutmose on Turn 1, by the time you get to Turn 10 you'll have a reinforcing army of Tier I-IV troops, and you'll have inflicted Morale penalties on the enemy and if that still isn't enough to tip the scales you'll have reduced siege holdout time. You might also get several thousand Food (dunno about other resources) along the way. Taking the city will give a Happiness bonus that offsets the conquest penalty (or allows Loot and Occupy in the rest of the province), as well as whatever Stone you get from Sabotage (for quick building/repairs). You can then target Buhen while you finish Kawa Province (and punish Memnon for being a backstabbing dick), and any native units that gave you support will be available for special recruitment. Rinse and Repeat with each Cult Centre. It also helps to keep in mind that there's no time limit, so you can take your time dealing with rebellions or invasions while preparing and you won't lose any progress, unless you have to attack another Cult Centre and re-target.
It's not just planning ahead like this that's important. The long game with the Legacy of Thutmose is controlling the Pillars of Civilisation mechanic by helping you quickly take, hold, and develop, the Cult Centres so that you can recover from Crisis and hopefully never fall into total Collapse... and maybe, just maybe, usher in a new Golden Age of Prosperity.
The big, big, BIG, drawback with Thutmose is that everything costs Gold. Amenmesse can afford to go all-in from Turn 1 but everyone else has to trade or embezzle their way to conquest.

How about instead of spending a massive amount of cash on it you get 2-3 armies for that value AND more benefits with other legacies.

Thutmose I think is quite fun and useful at start with Elam but even with them it is better to take Hatshepsut then or standart def mechs... It is just useful if you want additional challenge. But for Elam at least you slightly faster get Nippur, Babylon, Dur-Kurigalzu, Assur etc. Compared with Hatshepsut it is arguable though especially unlocked turn 1.

Has anyone noticed that for Atreus, even if you complete the full dominance you don’t get the unique follower ancillary? I’ve made the effort to do it the last three wars I’ve fought as Agamemnon and it’s proving to be rather disappointing as I’ve got to slow down my conquest to get the raid objectives all for almost nothing.

I think the best faction in the game for Wanax is Merneptah as he gets improved bonuses from all positions plus can at start of the game convert battles into power, I think if I will play this faction I will allow Wanax from turn 1 and it could be fun. Basically both hittite ones are fine with him as well.

So I haven't used any of the Egyptian legacies yet in Dynasties, but I do know they said that they tweaked Hatshepsut and Thutmose for Dynasties. I remember that Thutmose was one of the most popular legacies to use in the base game, because it let you grab a pillar of civilization with a rather minimal (at least for Amenmesse) cost of resources while giving you some decent native units for "emergency recruitment", so did they take away the whole "If you perfectly balance the bar you take the city without a fight" aspect or increase the cost? Then again, that was also back before Amenmesse's Nubian mercenary archers only cost gold upkeep. I also remember Hatshepsut being thought of as only better than Khufu because, well, at the end of the day, outside of the ancillaries it doesn't give you anything you couldn't get from the base trading. So did they actually like, buff the amount of resources you can get from the caravans so that you can get more from it than just a regular trade deal by turn 60? At the same time, are the ancillaries really worth the initial investment of resources if you can get thousands of each resource per turn because you've set up 10 turn barters with a dozen different factions as the ultimate middleman?

+10 favour with all gods for a Mortuary temple is just for lulz probably. Even if it would be +200 it wouldn't be that much. Wonders are very weak, and there should be at least 10 of them with bigger bonuses. Amenmesse gets 20% from Nubia and Kush but with Hatshepsut he gets 100 times more and faster from Punt. Aten was good in some cases but now with new gods it is less viable especially with Hatshepsut and changing capitals. The problem I see is that you can't change god later. It would be nice if you could take back 3 gods and then go back to Aten but when you choose it for all game its not that nice. I had 100+ melee def with Irsu at legacy but now I can get better archers etc using 3 gods so its not that good. With most factions 3 gods are better eventually, yes. Now I got +68% range damage and 0 sec reload skirmishers but its not that OP tbh. +a lot of ammo but you get them anyway for standart bowmen with wood from greek lands. For those interested in Hatshepsut it is better to trade wood - cedar wood or kushite bows. But the best one is ropes from lower Egypt. Poplar from mesopotamia isn't bad as well. Selling food and other usually worse.

I say, perseus. Economy can be gamed by selling cities and provinces. With perseus, at maximum, you can raise a whole veteran army in one or two turns and with unlimited variety depending on your allies/ vassals and where you have built native barracks.
