Pinkie Pie is the reason I'm a brony. Once I found out about this character and the direction they took her, I knew I had to watch this show. I love the genki girl archetype and Pinkie is my favorite example of that.
Actually, pinkie could be classified as a grade A narcotic. And all of ponyville is addicted to her. When she's not around all the ponyville ponies go into withdrawl and become cranky. Just look at magical mystery cure. Pinkie was gone for like half a day and the whole town became a grumpfest. the world is a depressing place without your daily dose of Pinkie. Comes in pony and cupcake format. XD
Pinkie Pie is definitely my favorite pony. Just... the joy that she brings to others, her willingness to do anything it takes to cheer another pony up, and the fact she will believe in another's greatness even if they themselves don't feel like they're very special. She's the kind of friend that a socially awkward person would need, or someone who is an introvert - being able to encourage them to go out and do new things because she will always be there to support them, but at the same time can make sure they don't do anything dangerous or too far out there. She's just... amazing. I'm sorry, I'm gushing, but that's just my shpeel. ^^;

Her excelent comedic antics that always make me laugh, episode Party of One and then Smile Song in season two helped me get out of some really crippling depressions back when I started watching pony. I even used to have suicide thoughts at times. But somehow, this crazy cheerful mare just made me smile even in the darkest days. I even started liking pink color because of her (I used to hate pink). So thank you, Pinkie. I like all the ponies, but you will always be the best pony for me.
Pinkie wil accept anyone, simply for who they are, and not seek to change them, just try to make them happy and smile.... that right there is the heart of why she is so amazing. Yeah she's the Element of "Laughter" but, she really shows WHY "Laughter" is such an important virtue, it's not about being silly, or funny, it's.. the quality to be able to find the best in things, to always cheer others up, and above all, to be a light of hope in any darkness. Silver.... so, so loved this... and totally no Liquid Pride here.. nope... none at all......
One thing that also really fits Pinkie you didn't mention is how she's over-the-top in everything she does. Rarity goes far with her emotions but doesn't go over the top. Another good example I think was Pinkie's hostility in Starlight's village. She could sense that the smiles weren't genuine.
I just realized that, before Pinkie Pie's first party, she was the depressed member of the family. Limestone was anger, Marble was fear, and Pinkie was sadness. It's no wonder Pinkie looks up to Maud so much because her monotone personality doesn't stop her from being friendly, helpful, or expressive (in her own way).

Whenever Hasbro drops the ball with Pinkie Pie, in a scene or even in an episode of her own, I sometimes think if I'm judging wrongly on having Pinkie Pie be my favorite mane 6 pony and character. Which is why I love to watch this video and remind myself that Pinkie really is a fantastic character, and that no bad episodes or scenes of hers should make me think otherwise. It's why I love your content so much!! You always try to stay positive and remind everyone that MLP has so many shining moments, while being critical of its shortcomings. In a fandom where I think people can be more critical than they should be, it's great to see that you're always willing to give the show praise when it deserves it.
I'm like Pinkie in a lot of ways. I may seem perpetually happy and excitable (and perpetually positive), but I've gone through so much pain in life that I know I've earned that happiness. I have hard days, I have really bad days. But, I combat it with humour, adventures and other things that i love to bring me out of that darkness.

Pinkie Pie took a _really_ long time to grow on me, when i was getting into the show i honestly had to click away several times because i just ... i couldn't take it! but yeah, when i saw the episodes that showed a deeper side of her, i really started to appreciate her a lot more. probably one of my favorites now!
I adore Pinkie for this, and for the fact that she cares about her friends far more that they do. Remember the Return of Harmony? Pinkie 's trial was all her friends leaving her and bullying her. She really took it to heart, and failed the trial.

It's also worth mentioning that Pinkie and the characters I mentioned previously inspire ME to spread joy unto others and help lift their spirits. An example of this; earlier this year, we said goodbye to my Poppy who...left this world. Like everyone, I felt sad he and Nanny were gone from my life. But despite that, I comforted my family and helped remind them to stay strong; after the tears were shed. To this day, they always appreciate the joy I can give them. They also feel shocked when I'm unable to do so. So, to anyone who says those who're "happy all the time" are "untrustworthy." Pinkie Pie is my favorite pony because i am a lot like her. I want to see others smile and want to help them smile. When i have sad moments, i don't want to rely on others because i believe i can handle it. Have you ever seen Pinkie go to one of her friends when she's having moments of self doubt? Pinkie Pride showed that Pinkie Pie hides what hurts her and she finds a way to pick herself up again. She tries so hard, and sometimes too hard, to please others. In Maud Pie, Pinkie was trying so hard to make all sorts of different rock candies for her sister. the smile song is, like Silver Quill said, the song that defines Pinkie and her interactions with the world. Like Pinkie, i want to help others even to the expense of my own happiness because i believe it's all worth it in the end. and the episode Party Of One cemented Pinkie as my favorite pony. I have bipolar and ADHD and often my lows go so low that it seems that i do go psychotic or, even in more severe measures, suicidal. I'm glad Pinkie hasn't went that far. She did believe that what she was trying to do wasn't helping at all and she wanted someone to say it, even if it meant that they were just coping what she said. I've often looked to Pinkie when i'm in a depressed state and ask myself, "What would Pinkie do to cheer someone like me up?" and often my mind fills in the blanks. She'd throw a party just because and do almost anything to see me smile again, even if it's just a sit and hug so i can cry it out. Sometimes just having a shoulder to cry on is the best way to help people feel better. Knowing that someone is there for you and is willing to help you, makes it all the better.

This video kept me smiling all throughout and somehow made my eyes teary. It highlights many of the reasons why I love Pinkie so much and consider her my favorite pony. Initially I too didn't appreciate her much but as the episodes went on, she gained my heart. Every time she gets sad I get sad, for seeing her sad. If she's happy, it makes me happy. It just isn't possible to not love that little pink mare. She's adorable in her own way and even though she's just a fictional character, she always brightens up my day. She's the kind of friend I would love to have. Always so supportive and positive. The one kind of friend you can always count on. Thank you , Pinkie, for being one of the best ponies. Pinkie is my favorite because I see myself in her. I'm a really depressed person but even then I put that aside and do what I can to make sure my friends and family are happy. However when trying to stay happy i make things awkward or worse. now recently i have gotten a bit over my depression more thus making it easier to help people be happy if I can.
Pinkie pie has a come along way when i first saw her through 4,5, and 6. Honestly she's greatly improved and one thing i loved about her was the "4th wall moments" Of the series and its amazing to see her control that. I really didn't catch on to what the MLP write team was doing with those jokes till i was like "OOOOOOOH" and ya she's practically comical to a certain extent. But the big suprise from me was, her coming from a amish family i figured the team would've placed her in a circus environment. But Man that is why they call her the queen of fun.
I definitely try to emulate Pinkie Pie--especially at work. I'm always bringing in candy or baked goods because when my coworkers smile at the prospect of a sugar rush, it makes me smile. Also, this line from Pinkie's 'Smile Song'--"But if you're kind of worried and your face has made a frown--I'll work real hard and do my best to turn that sad frown upside down." One of my coworkers was practically having a nervous breakdown due to the prospect of starting college classes. I got her a couple MLP figures (Fluttershy for inspiration and Pinkie Pie to cheer her up), a bag of chocolates, and a card signed by most of the store employees. If someone I know is having a hard time, I'll listen, I'll give advice, or I bake--whatever it takes to help them feel better.
I actually see a similar humour situation with Spike, I found his sarcasm hilarious in PPOV because he was evidently worried by the situation, but still making jokes. In the first few seasons he made jokes without seeming (at least a bit) upset by the situation, so he seemed annoying. Adore your calm nature, and really hope you do a celebration video for him! :)

Great video! I'm so happy Pinkie finally got her day. She's been my favorite ever since I first saw Party of One. And no, not because she went psycho(as fun as that was to watch) but because I really related to her struggle in that episode. I'm not nearly as hyper as her, but I definitely relate to her feelings about certain situations. And as you said, it's great that they didn't go and make her happy 24/7. Giving her bad days and occasionally bad attitudes makes her seem more relatable and real. I also love that her random parties are, for the most part, less about goofing off and more about making others happy. She's a great character and it's always nice to see people be able to look past her goofy random behavior and see that there's more to her than that.

I have a crack theory that Pinkie has depression. Depression is often hidden behind a positive attitude, and whenever Pinkie thinks her friends abandoned her, she emotionally shuts down. Her parties could be her way to make everyone else happy because she knows what it's like to be at your emotional very worst. But that's just a theory of mine. Pinkie is my fave of the mane six, and third fave ever!

What Silver said about Pinkie can also be said about other jolly characters from the media. Such examples include Spongebob, Wander, Monkey D. Luffy, Beast Boy and Goku. Just like Silver said about Pinkie. The examples may appear dimwitted, reckless and immature. But if you actually take time to understand their behavior. You'll see it's actually necessary of them to behave as such. I mean, think about it; without Luffy being such a jolly figure. He would've never inspired so many pirates and people to stand outside of the status quo. I just wish his crew wasn't so abusive toward him about his antics. What do you all think?
@9:06 Remember Celestia's line about Optimism. It's one trait Twilight has, but it's the parallel to Pinkie's Laughter Element. Laughter is more than just jokes. It's an expression of happiness, and 'optimism'. That things can and will get better!! A smile can be a promise of a brighter day or future. I can break the ice between two people/ponies that wouldn't have gotten along otherwise. And what does TRUE Laughter start with? A Smile, just like Pinkie's Character song!!! Pinkie wants to bring smiles to others, to help them not only feel better about themselves, but about their own future as well. Pinkie Pie is truly an amazing pony. To some, she is even 'best pony', and that's okay, because she inspires them to smile more and to look for more positives in life, because Negatives are all to plentiful and all too easily willing to drown out the positives. To everyone who watches this video... remember to smile, and remember WHY someone like Pinkie smiles. Share these smiles with others, and when everyone smiles... true and genuine smiles... the world becomes a brighter place!
Looking back on the series I wish they had an episode that showed pinkie accepting that sometimes sadness is what’s needed to help someone feel better. A message sort of like that in the movie “inside out”. While she does acknowledge that bad days happen she also immediately brought the mood to a happy one without letting them sit in the sadness. Imagine this, pinkie returns home for a time and marble isn’t happy and pinkie tries all her jokes and gags and it makes them smile for a moment but then they go back to frowning afterwards because that joke may have given them happiness in the moment but it didn’t fix what had them feeling upset. As the episode goes on pinkie tries over and over to make marble happy but it only works temporarily. Then limestone pie comes over and says “watch this” and she walks over to marble and says “hey, it’s okay, I’m here for you.” They hug and marble has a good cry, then she says thank you and finally smiles. Pinkie asks how she did that and limestone can tell pinkie “sometimes you just need to cry.” And it clicks for pinkie, jokes and laughter are great fun but when you feel sad it’s not always the best solution, you need understanding and comfort as well. It also would be a good way to show some more of the pie sisters. Maybe marble is more emotional but doesn’t know how to show it and limestone is more vocal and open. I feel like they would be very close as sisters being the last two to leave the nest so to speak.

If only there was a real person like her...someone who cares a lot about others, a person whos funny and unpredictable, and ya...pretty intellingent despite what it shows... and ya...i like characters like that...usually the goofball with a heart of gold character...who apeared in many other shows and i love them just the same...looks at dale at chip and dale rescue rangers, or launchpad from ducktales...
The funny thing is... they're usually not my favorite . Mabel and soos are brilliant characters am but I enjoy Stan more, I usually love goofball as like my second favorites or something , but just something about Pinkie ' s desire to make others happy just draws me to her.

So, finally someone has made a video about world smile day. Now, let me tell you all one thing: I´ve been smiling, laughing ang giggling like crazy today, and I got no idea why. Ok, probably because the UK released the S6 finale a few weeks early and now I get to avoid spoilers, but yeah. Anyway, I also think it may be because I watch this cartoon called Mia and Me ever since a few days ago. Ok, almost a week by now. Ok, over a week. Fine, two weeks already. Anyway, there are some things I don´t get about that show, and usually I get to talk about this stuff with at least someone. However, I couldn´t find anything on this show in terms of fanart yet, so I gotta put it here: First off, the episode The Rainbow Spring. Mia, Onchao and Ono (the latter two being alicorns) go to a magical island where unicorns, which also includes alicorns as they are classified as winged unicorns in the show, can talk. So, here is what I don´t get: Mia has the inborn abbility to talk with unicorns, even if she isn´t on this island (btw, I know she can only do that on Centopia, but is this just because there are no unicorns on earth? Like, if unicorns would come to earth, could Mia still talk with them?). Now, my biggest issue with this episode was that Mia left her friends Mo, Varia and Yuko behind to guard the only way to this magic island. I mean, it´s not like there are damn powerful demigod-unicorns that control the elements on Centopia that could do this job a hundred times better... Oh wait, there are. And Ono is the king of the unicorns, so they´d have to listen to him. I´m just saying, why didn´t Mia stay behind and her friends, or at least some of them, get to talk to unicorns.
Let's not forget how she literally changed Cheese Sandwich's life and set him on a happy path :D

Pinkie Pie is my favorite pony because i am a lot like her. I want to see others smile and want to help them smile. When i have sad moments, i don't want to rely on others because i believe i can handle it. Have you ever seen Pinkie go to one of her friends when she's having moments of self doubt? Pinkie Pride showed that Pinkie Pie hides what hurts her and she finds a way to pick herself up again. She tries so hard, and sometimes too hard, to please others. In Maud Pie, Pinkie was trying so hard to make all sorts of different rock candies for her sister. the smile song is, like Silver Quill said, the song that defines Pinkie and her interactions with the world. Like Pinkie, i want to help others even to the expense of my own happiness because i believe it's all worth it in the end. and the episode Party Of One cemented Pinkie as my favorite pony. I have bipolar and ADHD and often my lows go so low that it seems that i do go psychotic or, even in more severe measures, suicidal. I'm glad Pinkie hasn't went that far. She did believe that what she was trying to do wasn't helping at all and she wanted someone to say it, even if it meant that they were just coping what she said. I've often looked to Pinkie when i'm in a depressed state and ask myself, "What would Pinkie do to cheer someone like me up?" and often my mind fills in the blanks. She'd throw a party just because and do almost anything to see me smile again, even if it's just a sit and hug so i can cry it out. Sometimes just having a shoulder to cry on is the best way to help people feel better. Knowing that someone is there for you and is willing to help you, makes it all the better.

This video kept me smiling all throughout and somehow made my eyes teary. It highlights many of the reasons why I love Pinkie so much and consider her my favorite pony. Initially I too didn't appreciate her much but as the episodes went on, she gained my heart. Every time she gets sad I get sad, for seeing her sad. If she's happy, it makes me happy. It just isn't possible to not love that little pink mare. She's adorable in her own way and even though she's just a fictional character, she always brightens up my day. She's the kind of friend I would love to have. Always so supportive and positive. The one kind of friend you can always count on.

Pinkie is my favorite because I see myself in her. I'm a really depressed person but even then I put that aside and do what I can to make sure my friends and family are happy. However when trying to stay happy i make things awkward or worse. now recently i have gotten a bit over my depression more thus making it easier to help people be happy if I can.

Pinkie pie has a come along way when i first saw her through 4,5, and 6. Honestly she's greatly improved and one thing i loved about her was the "4th wall moments" Of the series and its amazing to see her control that. I really didn't catch on to what the MLP write team was doing with those jokes till i was like "OOOOOOOH" and ya she's practically comical to a certain extent. But the big suprise from me was, her coming from a amish family i figured the team would've placed her in a circus environment. But Man that is why they call her the queen of fun.

I definitely try to emulate Pinkie Pie--especially at work. I'm always bringing in candy or baked goods because when my coworkers smile at the prospect of a sugar rush, it makes me smile. Also, this line from Pinkie's 'Smile Song'--"But if you're kind of worried and your face has made a frown--I'll work real hard and do my best to turn that sad frown upside down." One of my coworkers was practically having a nervous breakdown due to the prospect of starting college classes. I got her a couple MLP figures (Fluttershy for inspiration and Pinkie Pie to cheer her up), a bag of chocolates, and a card signed by most of the store employees. If someone I know is having a hard time, I'll listen, I'll give advice, or I bake--whatever it takes to help them feel better.
I actually see a similar humour situation with Spike, I found his sarcasm hilarious in PPOV because he was evidently worried by the situation, but still making jokes. In the first few seasons he made jokes without seeming (at least a bit) upset by the situation, so he seemed annoying.
Adore your calm nature, and really hope you do a celebration video for him! :)

Great video! I'm so happy Pinkie finally got her day. She's been my favorite ever since I first saw Party of One. And no, not because she went psycho(as fun as that was to watch) but because I really related to her struggle in that episode. I'm not nearly as hyper as her, but I definitely relate to her feelings about certain situations. And as you said, it's great that they didn't go and make her happy 24/7. Giving her bad days and occasionally bad attitudes makes her seem more relatable and real. I also love that her random parties are, for the most part, less about goofing off and more about making others happy. She's a great character and it's always nice to see people be able to look past her goofy random behavior and see that there's more to her than that.

I have a crack theory that Pinkie has depression. Depression is often hidden behind a positive attitude, and whenever Pinkie thinks her friends abandoned her, she emotionally shuts down. Her parties could be her way to make everyone else happy because she knows what it's like to be at your emotional very worst.
But that's just a theory of mine. Pinkie is my fave of the mane six, and third fave ever!

Remember Celestia's line about Optimism. It's one trait Twilight has, but it's the parallel to Pinkie's Laughter Element. Laughter is more than just jokes. It's an expression of happiness, and 'optimism'. That things can and will get better!! A smile can be a promise of a brighter day or future. I can break the ice between two people/ponies that wouldn't have gotten along otherwise.
And what does TRUE Laughter start with? A Smile, just like Pinkie's Character song!!! Pinkie wants to bring smiles to others, to help them not only feel better about themselves, but about their own future as well.
Pinkie Pie is truly an amazing pony. To some, she is even 'best pony', and that's okay, because she inspires them to smile more and to look for more positives in life, because Negatives are all to plentiful and all too easily willing to drown out the positives.
To everyone who watches this video... remember to smile, and remember WHY someone like Pinkie smiles. Share these smiles with others, and when everyone smiles... true and genuine smiles... the world becomes a brighter place!
Looking back on the series I wish they had an episode that showed pinkie accepting that sometimes sadness is what’s needed to help someone feel better. A message sort of like that in the movie “inside out”.
While she does acknowledge that bad days happen she also immediately brought the mood to a happy one without letting them sit in the sadness.
Imagine this, pinkie returns home for a time and marble isn’t happy and pinkie tries all her jokes and gags and it makes them smile for a moment but then they go back to frowning afterwards because that joke may have given them happiness in the moment but it didn’t fix what had them feeling upset. As the episode goes on pinkie tries over and over to make marble happy but it only works temporarily. Then limestone pie comes over and says “watch this” and she walks over to marble and says “hey, it’s okay, I’m here for you.” They hug and marble has a good cry, then she says thank you and finally smiles. Pinkie asks how she did that and limestone can tell pinkie “sometimes you just need to cry.” And it clicks for pinkie, jokes and laughter are great fun but when you feel sad it’s not always the best solution, you need understanding and comfort as well.
It also would be a good way to show some more of the pie sisters. Maybe marble is more emotional but doesn’t know how to show it and limestone is more vocal and open. I feel like they would be very close as sisters being the last two to leave the nest so to speak.

The funny thing is... they're usually not my favorite . Mabel and soos are brilliant characters am but I enjoy Stan more, I usually love goofball as like my second favorites or something , but just something about Pinkie ' s desire to make others happy just draws me to her.

I remember when I first started watching the show (during Twilight's party scene in the very first episode), I thought Pinkie was gonna be the "blonde" of the series, and I was really worried cause usually the "jokester" characters never work on me. So, finally someone has made a video about world smile day. Now, let me tell you all one thing: I´ve been smiling, laughing ang giggling like crazy today, and I got no idea why. Ok, probably because the UK released the S6 finale a few weeks early and now I get to avoid spoilers, but yeah.
Anyway, I also think it may be because I watch this cartoon called Mia and Me ever since a few days ago. Ok, almost a week by now. Ok, over a week. Fine, two weeks already. Anyway, there are some things I don´t get about that show, and usually I get to talk about this stuff with at least someone. However, I couldn´t find anything on this show in terms of fanart yet, so I gotta put it here:
First off, the episode The Rainbow Spring. Mia, Onchao and Ono (the latter two being alicorns) go to a magical island where unicorns, which also includes alicorns as they are classified as winged unicorns in the show, can talk. So, here is what I don´t get: Mia has the inborn abbility to talk with unicorns, even if she isn´t on this island (btw, I know she can only do that on Centopia, but is this just because there are no unicorns on earth? Like, if unicorns would come to earth, could Mia still talk with them?). Now, my biggest issue with this episode was that Mia left her friends Mo, Varia and Yuko behind to guard the only way to this magic island. I mean, it´s not like there are damn powerful demigod-unicorns that control the elements on Centopia that could do this job a hundred times better... Oh wait, there are. And Ono is the king of the unicorns, so they´d have to listen to him. I´m just saying, why didn´t Mia stay behind and her friends, or at least some of them, get to talk to unicorns.
