I am a devout, practicing Catholic, but Fiddler has always been in my top three favorite musicals of all time, and it's one of the most moving, influential, and profound works for me personally. Each character has depth and is so relatable, and that's why it's timeless. But for those of us who are connected with our faith, Tevye is the perfect protagonist. The world is constantly changing, and we are always challenged in our everyday lives to find, defend, and fight for our faith to be relevant and alive in a world that becomes more and more cynical about religion, regardless of which institution you may practice. There's such beauty and importance in the story and the music and how it portrays the Jewish faith, but even as a Catholic, I deeply relate to every bit of it. It's as much about family, culture, and identity as a human being as it is about religion. So glad it's back on Broadway for this generation to know and love!

As an Irish Catholic who’s forbears had to leave Ireland due to famine and persecution I can connect with the story too ...and migration continues sadly

Don't know what to make of this. I *used* to think of Fiddler as one of my favorite musicals; for me, it was about faith and perseverance, staying true to who you are, maintaining your dignity and identity even when faced with seemingly insurmountable odds. But every interview I've watched with this production seem so politically motivated, that it seems like a musical I once loved has been latched onto the bandwagon.
