secondary type carb too. The stock exhaust had 2 glass packed resonators in the center with pipes going to 1 muffler behind the rear end then to duel heavy duty duel tips. I raced every one in school that had some kind of V8 car and thought I was king until I couldn’t beat my 2 friends that owned a 70 Cuda 440 and the70 or 71 model Buick GS 455, they always beat me by 2 or 3 car lengths at the end. My best ¼ time was 13.92 with G60-14 tires. I ended up trading it in on my first new car.
Very nice ! I had a 68 coupe w/390 no GT badge..very nice sleeper. It did have the 390 badge on the fender. Sold that car way back in 1979. Wish I had that car today.
Looks just like the one I owned in 1975 when I was 17. But my GT had white strips going over the hood and the color of the car was a bluish green. It had a AM radio with 2 speakers in a long grill in the bottom of each door. When I bought it in 1975 it had 79,000 miles and was all stock down to the F70-14 tires and GT wheels. It also had a C6 3 spd auto trans that would scratch 2nd and 3rd gear, ps, front disc breaks and factory A/C that still worked. I remember it also had a Holly 750 vacuum
NICE! my uncle has a 68 gt with a 427 i think in it and has 2 4-barrel carburetors in it xD darn thing CHUGS gasoline but its got some power man! its not blue though, its got like 8 coats of candy apple red with flake in it and then like 5 coats of clear to make it shine xD they are som fantastic cars man :)
what are you swinging for rear gears. I am restoring an X-code 390..its all professionally rebuilt and now has a performer RPM edlebrock manifold with a 770cfm holley carb. I got MSD ignition and distributor in it now. I believe the rear axle code says its got 2:79 gears. Thinking of 3:50 gears. what do you feel about those gears..too tall??
A 428 CJ is not too heavy with power steering and is a blast to drive on an open roadway. The ‘68 1/2 R Code was the fastest of them all in the quarter.

Some people hate vinyl tops, but this would look awesome with one in white.
I agree .. FORD should have said "loud and proud" 390, hey 390
That car is awesome, great sound and performance and best of all it's Ford, not Chevy, not dodge, good old FORD, and it hauls buns!

Would like to own this car
If it has an overdrive does then yes if not than no. A good gear for a car with no overdrive would be around 3.00 or so.
Great Mustang, but that single tire burnout has to be rectified.
There a whole bunch more power in that 390
What kind of color does this great mustang have??
Im looking for this color..!
Gary hoko moko blue
it'll haul bunnns
390 is too heavy for the car unless you only want to go in a straight line.
