- In this video I discuss the current state of affairs for us with AP2 cars. Will also describe what upgrades have been done regarding cameras for this 2016 AP2 MS. If you look at the new camera you can see a greasy film inside. It's a sealed unit and shouldn't be like that. Tesla ordered me a replacement once they saw this.

Does you explain Model SX AP2 to FSD upgrade named retrofit? When yes how it worked? How you ordered?
Great informative video presentation. I thought Tesla was giving us a free upgrade... Did you ever get a notice? I didn't. I have a 2017 S75D and bought the FSD and cpu and mpu upgrades
They actually will provide a free upgrade if needed. They have slowly started sending the notification emails out. Unfortunately many people are waiting awhile for parts due to supply chain issues. I upgraded mine out of pocket thinking I could get FSD sooner. I was wrong still waiting like many.

Just dropped our MX (Nov 2016) AP2 at service for the camera retrofit. It was a pain to find someone that even knew what I was asking for. I finally just scheduled service and someone knew enough to know what I was looking for. We will see how it is when I get it back. You are correct about the legacy builds being left out for most of the newer versions of software updates.
I finally had the beta pushed to me a couple months back.
What Happened? I have a Model S June 2017 build. It makes me nervous that nothing is being done about the camera retrofits. A serious degradation in customer support since I bought mine. I understand the priority is get new cars out the door, but if Tesla gets a reputation for leaving its early customers abandoned, it will affect sales.
They really don't care up us legacy vertical screen folks. Not good when all the updates come from a twitter account from Elon.
Great video. Look forward to the result. According to Elon the camera suite upgrade should be free and SC promised that they’re very close to scheduling those appointments.
Seems in the field even those with camera upgrades have not received the beta. Something is holding us original AP2 cars from the update.
My 16 doesn't have cameras on the B pillars..can I purchase those?
Looks like you have AP1 with mobileye you cannot purchase. I have heard others have retrofitted them but you need to rewire and root the car.
did you get Beta yet?!
Nope something else is holding the push. Even those with official retrofits from Tesla aren't getting the Beta. We have been active on twitter voicing our concerns with no luck yet.

It's 1/21/22 and I'm still waiting for Beta have a 99% safety score.
You won’t get it.. because the system still shows that you have old cameras. Should’ve went through Tesla and not wasted your money. Be patient and don’t pay extra for something you’ve already purchased. Lol
So I heard you got beta… how did it happen?
