The wind whispers tales through the ages, carrying stories of forgotten heroes and hidden treasures. In the realm of automobiles, the Maserati Shamal embodies this enigmatic spirit, a car shrouded in misconceptions and yet brimming with a power that deserves to be sung. Born in the late 1980s, a period when Maserati battled financial woes and identity crises, the Shamal emerged as a beacon of hope, a flagship intended to reclaim the marque's glorious past.

One of the best factory wide-body cars that ever existed. This thing speaks Maserati more than any one created since. Look like nothing else, elegant, sporty, and masculine. I love this car, and Im an Alfisti.

To me it looks like it took some design cues from the VW Scirocco so it's not a bad looking car. The problem with the brand is once you get a reputation for selling the public a lemon right out of the box it's extremely hard to get that same public to trust you again. Jaguar had the same problems years ago as they were said to be known by their mechanics better than their owners as it spent more time in the shop than it did on the road.

One man in the village had it, black mustaches black hair leather jacket and real second name King did make car suit him properly, although car burned out of blue once in some sun standing. It was nice black looking though and almost every day passed by our house

One of the last aspirational and rare exotics before most supercars turned into PCP financed fast cars.

I love the drivetrain , Shamal ? seriously 😂, the bi-turbo had a waaaay better name. The show stopper is the rear wheel well shape. I'm going to wake up at 4am after having a nightmare now. 😅

Great video. But the engine sound was a bit off. Reminded me a flatplane V8, but IIRC, the Shamal's V8 was a crossplane design, like the 3200GT, which BTW had the last evolution of the original Maserati V8 before they started using the Ferrari-sourced V8.

    Good film this 🌟
But Gandini barely put his name on this car, he do not WORK on it/ whith it.
    He told it himself !!!
Otherwise, nice marketing of a FANTASTIC brand ❤️🇮🇹

They call it the Maserati Biturbo here in Switzerland at the time. Shamal sounds like a nice name though.

Sorry! There was the Bitubo AND the Shamal, guess I never saw one and that's why I made this false conclusion. The Biturbo was the V6 version.
There are 3 for sale here and the lowest cost one is CHF 98'000 and the most expensive one is CHF 198'000. So, the price is up there alright!

I think that the 🔱 deserved a proper owner that would make the baddest cars in the world worthy of wearing the symbol. This far they are the red headed step children of the European brands much like dodge is to the American car brand whored out but even a good creation can be had from this with the right people pushing.
