Brilliant. And some serious musicians on this. Norman Watt Roy what a bass man!
Damn... I remember me and my 2 older brothers cruising down the Auckland Motorway after going to a Toots and the Maytals concert. I was only 12 years old and this song came on the radio. With the bustle of the city and my brother thashing it down the Motorway with this on his Clarion stereo crystal clear with deep bass. I'll never forget. Memories like it was yesterday.. I'm 53 now
I've just rediscovered it again and cannot stop playing it on repeat in my car. The man is an English genius.
In 1979 I was in the US ARMY in Erlangan Germany went to local record store & they gave me free tickets to IAN concert. Me & my friends & some German girls went & had one hell of a good time! Thanks for the memories!
You jammy *** bet was proper blast
I saw Ian Dury and the Blockheads play the Gants Hill Odeon (yes really) in 1979/1980 with my brother, first live concert I ever went to.
Just brilliant. What a band.
What a blast from the past, and so much fun! Real musicians, fancy that...
I remember digging on this in the 80's with my roomie/classmate. still pretty cool.
Oh My!!!!! A bunch of us were traveling around the USA in 1980 and we played this album over and over and over... 6 weeks of Ian Drury! Fabulous!!!!
Einfach immer noch supergeil!

Norman Watt-Roy's stage presence matches the awesomeness of his basslines...now that's balance

the late, the great, Drury. Where are the musicians of today? On a voice box? Playing Xbox? These guys learned their trade in the 60s with nothing to spend and little training.

They we're definitely NOT on any kind of drugs in this video at all 😂
No, not at all. He was very anti-drugs because of his health.
He had polio as a child resulting paralysis and withering of his left leg, shoulder and arm ☹️
WICKED!
The drugs are real. The music is real.

I think the band were taking drugs before this gig
Ian Dury was very anti drugs. He had a lot of things wrong with his health.
The politically correct should pay attention.
I'm amazed if you are smart enough to put trousers on the right way round.
Did the bassist get paid by the note???? Effort chap!!!!
Why is he sweating so much??

A poet and a genius will be forever missed.
