    I like the way you explain. I was taught in a Vaganova method many years ago

    You are amazing! Not a subject that’s covered very often if at all. Thank you so much!

    Great to have a youtuber trained in vaganova, this way I won't have to keep checking if what I do at home aligns with classes!

    Hey Plum - really appreciate this explanation - enough detail, without out complication. I just learned a ton in 15 minutes.

    This helped me so much! I never know what to do with my head during my adult ballet classes but everybody else seems to know instinctively (granted most were in ballet as children/teenagers).

    Would love to know the Vaganova heads in the centre - they are my favourite. Can you do them little by little, video by video, here and there? I know it is a lot........

    Thank you so much for putting out these videos. I like to try to learn and refine my technique at home but it can be so hard to find such detailed breakdowns of proper technique, and Vaganova's book's descriptions are a little confusing to me sometimes.

    Could you please do a video about how to engage back muscles when using arms? And how to keep shoulders down? Thanks so much.

    You look beautiful 💕. This was helpful. I’m new to dance & I feel like I look so awkward bc I don’t know where to look. I love how dancers look so graceful because of head movements

    Love this video thank you. For teaching the little ones my teacher used "Queen" for the keeping the head up, kind of like being aloof and "curious" when tilting your head downward. Writing it about I can hear in my head, "Queen" "Curious" "Queen" and "hold" LOL

    The preview to your video was something like "what the head is doing at the barre" and I thought it was about all the internal dialogue at the barre--"why can't I get my leg higher? Ouch, cramp! Dang I feel dehydrated. Probably shouldn't have drank a bottle of wine last night. Why didnt I go to class more this week?!!" You know, stuff like that. So when it was epaulment, I was LOL DUH!!

    Out of topic but, why do dancers wear their sweatpants like that, waist rolled down?

    @Salty Sugar Plum. Did you ever get a correct diagnosis regarding why your face has patches of red? I have the same issues and I went to my Dr and he told me I have auto immune disorder. It is related to my gut, foods, stress, not getting good sleep..etc....

    How to do croisee and efface in the barre?

    • @SaltySugarPlum
      @SaltySugarPlum  Рік тому

      when you are facing forward normally at the barre, that is en face. a quarter turn towards the barre with the working leg in front is croise. a quarter turn away from the barre with the working leg in front is efface.
      some teachers will use the side mirror as your point of reference. so even if you are efface at the barre, you appear croise to your side mirror.
