God I remember this scene. "With your no-win-no-fee ambulance-chasing lawyer." That phrase stuck in my memory all this time. Amazing to randomly find it again.
@@sarahmcdonnell3389 And to me one of the *greatest* characters to set foot in that street. Aside from Richard Hillman. The late nineties/early noughties showed that Corrie could still make really great Panto villains/villainesses that could *really* grip audiences and even headlines. I can still remember the "Evil Cilla" headlines regularly being in the most red papers at pages 3, 4 or 1 at the time, along with making news in more serious papers like the Daily Telegraph, Mail etc. (2004). *NO WAY* would this ever happen now. Beside, soaps in general had their heyday for a *good* 15 years anyway.
Bloody fantastic. Weren't you just shouting 'Yes Rita, Go on!!!' I liked Fred's reaction to it all. You can tell he had a lot of sympathy for Rita and was on her side really and let her demolish Cilla. Bit pissed off with Audrey though, when she condems Rita for 'not rising above it' Why the hell should she???!!! She gave that trailer trash exactly what she deserved.
Worrying to think there are people who pull these kind of stunts in real life. Great lines for Wendi and Barbara in a scene they could really get their teeth into. Les was a good character, but I don’t think Bruce was that good an actor.
A *real* example of the Tony Blair/New Labour Era. The *rise and rise* of the Chav. PS: It was *completely* different to the true working-class social spectrum.
At the *real least* Rita here *rightfully* ranted and raved about the British "Chav" culture/movement of the time, which flourished so much under Blair's New Labour government. 👏A *real* difference between that and the *true* working-class social ladder.
I use to say that to myself when I drew a clatter on the lads from the butts why I did do that I use to say to myself got all wound up inside use to get pissed off I made things worse
Rita deserves my full respect for what she said to Cilla, good on you woman!

Spot on, Bryan. Rita put that rubbish in the rubbish bin where she belonged.

Cheers Albie. One of my fave scenes..
Same here, mate. Shows how strong our Rita is, and how worthless Cilla is.
Me : *Get in!*
I agree

Haha! Burst out laughing at that part 🤣
Go Rita
Cilla is a monster
Rita said it best, Cilla is the lowest of the low.
Her actress (Wendi Peters) actually *deserves* an OBE into how she did her role. One of Corrie's *greatest* panto villainesses! 😁💕
Anyone's better than you Cilla! 😂
I love Barbra Knox you did the right thing to Cilla
I *still* wonder how her real-life day or two in court went? Same goes and still goes on for Bill Roache.
Rita vs Cilla! 😂
Well done Rita.
Brilliant!!! 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼
Go on Rita!
3:23 *Different time/Different Britain, Rita!* (Unfortunately, then and now).

Cila Batersby Brown was a total buffon

👏👏👏👏👏
Nice video kawan..
Norris sounds *just* like Wallace and Cilla sounds *just* like Piella ("A Matter of Loaf and Death").
Actually guess what. The actress playing Shelley was the voice of Piella.
