So the 100mm is the projection of the cornice across the ceiling? And this is the height you had the cornice when sitting against the the timber when you cut it?

so the 100mm ceiling projection was measured on the plank, then the wall projection (70mm) was the measurement on the timber upstands. so the cornice is exactly how it would sit, just upside down on the bench when cutting it.
