@@PYR-Auto -- No need to reply. You helped me with the procedure. But here is where you REALLY helped me. I was told by multiple sources, including the dealer, that you could only program 2 FOBs. You indicated more than that, so I figured, I'll give it a try. Sure enough. Got the 3 I wanted. Only have 3 so, couldn't test more. Thought I'd be locked into two. Would not have tried if not for you.
Thank you for the video! The fob remote of our 2004 Tahoe went out & I’ll try this reprogram procedure when I purchase the original Chevrolet GM fob remote! 😁 Thank you for sharing your quick and easy video!
Thanks! Programming worked perfectly for my '02 Tahoe. One thing, I programmed two new remotes and they will only work if I'm in the drover seat or have the fob next to the windshield by the VIN. Is the receiver in the truck the issue?
It sounds like the receiver could be the issue if both remotes are doing that. The other thing I would suggest is to try to replace the batteries in they fobs incase they are both weak.
I bought my 2002 Tahoe with after market security alarm and fob key I used that for long time until both fob keys was bad so I decided to removed after market system I start using original fob keys work okay but my Question is if I unlock the door with key and open the door doesn't Alarm honk doesn't go off and the vehicle start normal is that normal ? my understanding is if we dont use fob key to unlock the door vehicle should not start and Alarm should go off please advice thank you
It isn't working for me. It worked the first time I tried it and then I realized that I needed to do the second fob and I could not get it to work. I've tried numerous times and there must be something that I missing. Is there a way to completely clear out any precodes in the fob? I sure would appreciate any additional information.
Hello. I am trying to program a brand new replacement key fob for my 2001 Chevy Tahoe. As mentioned the key fob is brand new, with brand new working batteries. I have followed/repeated the entire insert key, hold down unlock button, turn ignition off/on twice, wait for the lock to cycle, press and hold lock/unlock on fob simultaneously. But the lock never cycles therefore the Tahoe never enters programming mode. As a side note, I know that the locks are capable of cycling. Because when I pull and hold the bright light lever while cycling the key twice to program my desired door lock/unlock sequence the locks will actually cycle, the same way that they should when programming the key fobs. Can you please share some troubleshooting steps that might help me diagnose why my Tahoe won't enter programming mode so that I can program my new key fobs? Thank you.
Got the same problem, 2001 Tahoe, not found any solution yet. The other way to enter programming mode by shorting pins 6 & 8 in the OBD-connector does not work either as pin 8 is not connected to anything... I'm going to contact my shop for advice, might post the solution here if I get it from them.
I have a 2000 nbs I've been searching but can't but have had a hard time finding the exact remote I need so what's the part number or does the same remote work from 2000-06
I have done mine easily in the past, but when I try now it does not sync and then starts at the end. Have to hit the brake pedal to stop the engine and not synced.
2003 Chevy Tahoe, only the front drivers and passenger doors lock and unlock with the key fob and the inside drivers lock and unlock button. Both rear passenger doors and hatch glass and hatch itself don't lock with either the fobs or inside drivers door button. Any ideas?
@@PYR-Auto well I just ended up swapping the 2 relays in the fuse panel by the drivers door and now everything works great. Both key fobs and the main lock and unlock switch on drivers door work great. i just thought I would try swapping them to see what would happen and everything is back to normal lol
Yes - there are 2 ways. Look at the parts identification sticker in the bottom of the glove box - if you see code AUO, that means the vehicle has the option. If you sticker is missing or damaged , call any GM dealership's parts department with your VIN number. They can look up the original build sheet for the vehicle to see what options it has.
Hello great video. Unfortunately it didn’t work for me. I have a 2002 Tahoe. My fob worked fine until I replaced the battery. Now the fob doesn’t work and I can’t program following your video. The locks don’t cycle after 20-30 seconds. Any suggestions. I also tried it on my spare fob
I'm not sure but I believe the 2000 tahoe limited/z71 was built under the 1999 specs. If this procedure does not work try the procedure for the 1999 tahoe, you can find that here www.programyourremote.com/classified/1999-chevrolet-tahoe-keyless-entry-remote-key-fob-programming-instructions-listing-5255.aspx

a 2000 Tahoe should use GM Part Number: 15732803

it sounds like there may just be an issue with the rear doors locks rather than anything to do with the fob

i just programed mine and the range is poor is there anyway to enhance the range?
Have you tried replacing the fob battery?
Thank you so much

Will it work with any fob ?
no - it needs to be the correct fob for the vehicle

Sir, will this work if do *not* have another working fob ?
Yes - as long as the vehicle has the factory remote option installed.

I programmed one and my old one stop working! Can you only program 1!? 😅
Does this work with any fob?
No - it needs to be the correct fob for the vehicle
Does this work if I buy any fob?
No - it needs to be compatible with your factory system
