I think it's more:
If All Might hadn't met Izuku at the time he did during the show.... Soon after, Deku would have met Shigaraki instead and the story would have took a turn.
Another take to it would be if All Might himself told Izuku "You can never be a hero", instead of believing in him/giving him one for all. After that, if Shigaraki had found Izuku, it would be easy for him to manipulate Deku into joining the league.

I NEED TO WRITE A FANFIC FOR THIS
Oorrr he gets tortured by the villain league who brainwashed him and made him inherit 'all for one' or giving him to bare multiple quirks becoming a Nomu. Oorrr the one for all has few negatives and while battling one could lose himself in the power of all for one or something triggered him so much to become ruthless . (I've been reading marvel comics a lot,which are a huge influence to horikoshi himself especially Spiderman) For example: Spider Man aka Peter,has actually killed/murdered 10 people and became at a point 'black spiderman' at a battle with Venom, losing himself 'in the darkness' and becoming the villain himself not really aware of reality. Peter/Spiderman is a cinnamon roll who befriended even Deadpool and respected him unlike most of the rest heroes and people. So you never know if a cinnamon roll like Izuku becomes dangerous. I think that's what will most likely happen. Most manga's protagonists DO become scary and dangerous,like Naruto,Kurosaki,Kaneki and the worst of all Guts from Berserk,who has killed thousands till now. Like JoJo's Bizarre adventures (it was in Shonen Jump for 5 years ,then went to Seinen Jump till it ended) this manga could go from shonen to seinen genre(adult content like blood,brutality and references to rape/murders) when we move past the point of UA and have class A graduate.

For me the au is a hit or miss. Some people make villain deku this over powered (respectively) weakingly, who's broken in a bad way and is totally under the whims of handy mchandjob man. And I'm like.....whatTT?!? It's bad. It feels like a tumblr sob story.
On the other end I like strong/confident Villain Deku. It makes sense. My usual take is this. A boy who's smart, but useless with no power. After being told by his role model hero that he should just give up he's handed power not by All Might this time, but by the League of Villians. Instead of being controlled he ends up taking power. Because after all his life of being bullied/told to kill himself, he has the power to do some actual damage now. I actually see his morals being in line with Stain's. He'd probably be against superficial heros like All Might. Who was his idol but couldn't save him when he needed it the most. Or backhanded heros like Bakaguo who legit told him to jump off a bridge when they were younger. He'd probably have this mixed idea that he was the hero in this situation. Sticking up for the little guys/taking down corrupt superheros that only care about the lime light.
He'd be the kind of Villain who rips the Administration of Heros a new one, but beats up a few teen thugs for bullying a classmate. "I'll show you what true evil is."
I actually liked this video a lot though. It kept mostly in line with the villain Deku I enjoy.
Smiley Tree I absolutely agree with you. Confident villain Deku is a beautiful concept. The bullying and constant beetings he received from his classmates and former friends(s?) could definitely lead him down a villainous path. I could see a totally different story if All Might Told Him he couldn’t become a hero then told him about his quirk, but didn’t offer to train him. Deku would lose hope in heros and see them as fake idols. If the concept was made into a detailed comic then the ideology and imagery was be intense. I personally feel as through confident villain Deku holds up as a stronger concept then a sad or depressed villain Deku. Deku is extremely determined and would most defined become one of the strongest villains of all time.

i think that if Deku had been a villain he would be like Tobi from Naruto, nobody would know who he was and his revelation would hit everyone like a truck, he would play against his opponents slowly until he puts them in checkmate, not like shigaraki who seems to be very immature and impatient to be a great villain as Stain said, Tomura has no convictions, Izuku would have it (although that would depend on the way he becomes villain) that makes him keep fighting, the perfect villain would be brilliant and treacherous, all a mastermind manipulating everything and everyone from the shadows

Stuff like this always reminds me of the fact that if the show paid a little bit more realistic attention to how serious and damaging bullying can be along with him never meeting or being accepted by All Might, our kind, brave, and sweet little Midoriya would have either became a villain or he would've eventually committed suicide. . . . like seriously. I can't tell if I should be glad that Deku kept such an unrealistic attitude to how he was treated or angry with how most of the stuff he went through was glossed over and ignored. Granted, the years he was bullied by Bakugou and his peers aren't shown and are more or less left to the imagination, but the pieces to that puzzle don't exactly make a pretty picture. . . .

this amv is the most beautiful thing that i ever seen
i'm late for this i know but here me out: villain! deku in which all might didn't gave him the power and told him he couldn't become a hero, after that he just applies for a normal school but he isn't very good. He's just very depressed, his mother is worried and this makes him feel even worse so he tries to not spend time at home and forced to see very young heroes doing their jobs. He sees the tournament arc on tv and despite being happy for bakugou he feels awful everytime he sees all might. He is aware about the villains attacks since he always watches tv but doesn't feel anything about them, he is sure that they will be defeated. However with the ideology of Stain becoming popular he becomes interested in the matter and starts studying more about him, his life and what he thinks and even thought he doesn't agree with the fact of killing people he starts to have questions about what truly makes someone a hero thinking about the way bakugou acts and the fact that all might couldn't even help a quirkless kid. Deku starts viewing the rotten in the society. Since he's still not sure he decide to meet Stain and talk to him, and he manage to talk to him. At the beginning he wants to stop him because what he's doing is bad and Stain seeing how he is scared and quirkless wants to let him go but then Deku starts asking him his questions trying to reach for answers and ends up talking about what happened with all might. Stain uses Deku's experience to explain clearly his ideals and why that society needs to change and Deku actually is convinced by that (i mean, like the series said more than one time: the only way you can convince someone is by the experience). So basically even if he can't stay with Stain he keeps chasing him and after him being imprisoned in the Tartarus Deku decide to carry on Stain's ideals and joins the LOV leaving his mom alone with a letter explaining that he found his purpose and wants to chase it, but doesn't explain anything. After all of this he just enters the League: i think that at the beginning he would be still very rigid and lil depressed but after some time he actually feels more loved and accepted with them than in his normal life and actually finds a family, especially with Toga, Magne and Twice, but in general he loves everyone. Since he doesn't have a quirk he would use cold weapons like knives and daggers cause Stain did that too (Spinner teaches him how to use them). Still he doesn't want to actually hurt innocent people so often times he's the one who stops them from hurting/killing someone, so when they kidnap Katsuki he isn't okay with that because he feels that that will not work. Shigaraki tries to use the childhood friends card, showing Deku to Kacchan and that's the moment where Kastuki discovered he entered there. Deku is not happy about that situation, confronts Bakugou shouting to him how the fuck does someone who wants to be a hero let quirkless, miserable people like him become a Villain, how heroes are the ones creating with their actions Villains and how they're all just an irrelevant stone on the street who are only fighting back. They're the one which the heroes failed to save, that the society failed to save and wants to take justice, "Is that bad that i want to be as awesome as you, Kacchan?!" yells with tears falling on his face and in that moment the heroes arrives. With all that happens after that he ends up feeling terrible with himself but more determinate than before. Things happens and with the beginning of Overhaul's arc we see him improve himself by learning how to use firearms like various types handguns and even rifles.
Shit was so long, after this i don't really want to spoil the manga sooo that's it. Now i honestly want to write a fanfiction about this god
