  • Mowing very dry & dusty grass in this lawn care vlog. 1st lawn care vlog of the season. Conditions are ridiculous right now. You could actually damage a yard right now if you mow it when it's too dry. But we have rain in the forecast so it's looking good.

  • @RyanGrenz
    @RyanGrenz 7 років тому

    I think maybe the actual mowing should've started sooner, especially since you put the time stamp "mowing starts at 7:55" that is telling me I have to go through 8 minutes of talking, or skip through, but it's also letting me know that I will not need to watch the first 8 minutes of the video. And another thing I noticed, which I don't understand is that, you mow in the same place multiple times. And that takes up a lot of time, and someone like the average Joe, they don't wanna watch a 30 minute video of someone mowing the same grass over and over. Just thought this would help! Happy mowing!

    • @Something2LookAt
      @Something2LookAt  7 років тому

      Sorry for all the trouble. Many people want the narration so I do it, but provide that option to skip for everyone else. Hard to keep everybody happy. And I often mow over the same areas because I'm trying to mow up the clippings finer so they will lay down nice. Sorry but these type videos aren't really for the average Joe.

    • @RyanGrenz
      @RyanGrenz 7 років тому

      I guess you're right about these videos not being for the average Joe. I'm weird and decided to watch you mow lawns. Too bad you can't mow mine! I guess it is a good idea that you have that option for people, keep doing what you're doing! If it ain't broken, why try to fix it?

    good job mowing even though we have been really dry here in c.fl and i tell my customers(no helper anymore since i fired him a week or so ago so im backed up on 2 properties) and telling customers until it gets rain or wet season call me when they think its needed and most of my customers are bi weekly - weekly but i keep getting calls for 30+ minutes west but keep telling them my costs will be to high to go do their yard so until i find another partner or helper i gotta keep the yards i got now but if they text/email me from a little west i can help you out if needed but if i find a helper or what not then i can do them without costs being to high.. :/

    I don't want to sound offensive (really, I don't) but mowing lawns in a drought seems a little... well, stupid. VERY stupid actually. Grass shades the soil and prevents evaporation. There was an experiment in Qatar. 3cm of grass reduces the surface temperature from +72C to +34C. You mow it - you remove the shade, and water evaporates. Stop mowing - and it'll grow. It won't be as "nice" as "the county" wants but it'll be good fertile soil, not that eroded monstrocity. I think it should become the law - NO MOWING IN DROUGHT. Better yet, no mowing at all. With all due respect to your occupation, mowing lawns kills everything and everyone. It looks tidy, yes, but so can be longer grass. I remember how in blog #48 you cut BEAUTIFUL field flowers behind that pool. I hate to sound like a tree hugger, but we REALLY should learn to ENJOY the nature not try to manicure it into a shape that en vogue this season. Actually, you should be for it, too. If people adopt higher grass lawns, you will have MORE work, just like it's more work to style long hair than buzz a crew cut.
