This is the epitome of toxic relationship, but I believe it was intentional and the creators didn't want the movie to be portrayed as a romantic movie anyways. It's supposed to be a dark movie, especially with that ending. Absolutely frigging loved this movie and it's still one of my most favourite Bollywood movies till date.

I still remember going to watch this movie with my parents because the majority part of this film was shot in my neighborhood (Ramnagar, it is a town which is under Varanasi jurisdiction but it is separated by a Ganga river) needless to say the film was below average but we enjoyed watching it cause we got to see our house in various scenes.

I saw the whole film Rannjhanaa this year in May. I became a fan of kundan due to dhanush's mind blowing acting. His reactions just melted my heart. But I acknowledge this film is over the top romanticizing and no one should be like kundan. And stay away from zoya!

People of this movie don't know concept of " Moving on " Lmao. It's the best solution for everyone involved poor guy didn't have to die if he just moved on.
When i watched it the first time, i really got emotional in the end but man this movie has not aged well. Looking back at it now it is so toxic at number of places that it is irritating to watch now.
I think that's the point. Nobody got their happy ending. It feels more like Achilles heel than a sincere love story. For example, Kundan died because he couldn’t let go of his Obsession. Zoya got screwed because she couldn't let go of her Resentment. Though I agree, the ICU scene where zoya is sitting next to Kundan feels a bit out of place.
