First look at music notation

I put this together for one of my pupils who was keen to understand the very basics of how notes are divided and subdivided.
I hope it may be of use for anyone that has just started to read sheet music. Of course sheet music mixes many of the rhytjms but it is essential that the relationship between the notes is understood.
The quavers and semiquavers shown here are in groups and tied together with a beam. A single quaver will have just a flag that looks like a falling penant. a semiquiver will have two penants and so on.
