Bebe Barron and Louis Barron were pioneers in the field of electronic music. The American couple is credited with writing the first electronic music for magnetic tape composed in the United States, and the first entirely electronic film score for the MGM movie Forbidden Planet.
beautiful imagery! and that slow, forward motion of the "camera" helps give it a slightly 3-d effect too. I'm not sure the Hitchcock aspect comes through, bar a few guys in 40'style suits who look a bit like Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart. Also, Hitchcock had nothing to do with "The Thing from Another World',; that was two directors Howard Hawks and Christian Nyby. it would've been nice to think Hitchcock might've enjoyed "The Thing" (but I suspect not) though given there's a sense of paranoia and the notions of mistaken identity in both Hitchcock's work and in "The Thing" it's cool to imagine some confluence.
Thank you like always, this was more a tribute and inspired by The Barrons (Bebe and Louise) Forgotten Pioneers of Electronic Music.
yes a little touch of thriller from Hitchcock. The Thing comes out by AI and maybe the prompts spec that is a retro sci-fi of the 50s what limit the visuals effects of that time, and I specifiy to be Technicolor color grading.
Seriously, if a director could actually make this movie, using this retro tech look, it would be one of the greatest and most unique sci-fi movies ever made.
Thanks, thats why we explore with AI tools the imagination :) it is funny to see possibl look of a movie that not exist, and in different time, ages. cheers
Great Video, wonderful images. I love the soundtrack to Forbidden Planet, still one of my all time Favourite Sci-Fi Films.
Thanks you to ! First I wanted to recreat the sound in my electronic studio ... but before, lets try with the original sound track (if you didn't know the movie that was just released into the public domain) also to test if the YTB checking algo pops out some copyright issues ... it pass OK !!! So I cut some parts from the audio track of the movie, and it fits so good in retro sci-fi images, so I let it go so :)
I'm not sure how this was Hitchcockian but it sure is imaginative and beautiful. The soundscape still amazes.
Thanks, I used Technicolor process to recreat a warm mood.
@@kubikmilk Great work. Keep it up.
This brought to life every 1950's sci Fi pulp cover art. Well done 👍.
Thanks a lot for review
Love the original movie. Never understood why there has never been a remake. Pretty sure Pink Floyd were influenced by these fifties sci-fi sound tracks back in the day as well.
If you dig the net, you find something like this: "That's a project that I'm actively involved in, but I haven't made any decisions about it yet," Cameron said, adding "I love 'Forbidden Planet.'" this was in 2008, the movie was not yet in Public Domain, like now, so Cameron canceled or hold the project.
It's an adaptation of The Tempest, and it's been remade: it's called 'Star Trek'
Beautiful work! I’d watch a remake with these sensibilities! Thank you! One of my all time favorite films.
Thanks a lot :) I appreciate
The most unrealistic aspect of all these images is the amount of pomade everyone is using. I don't care if a little dab'll do you, no starship could afford to carry that much Brylcream across interstellar distances.
😂 Maybe they got Robbie to make a few tons of it for them, packaged in little pint bottles like the bourbon.
:)
I’m afraid the brill cream was done on 🌍 earth!I mean, the men put it on before they went up in the 🚀 space ship!
I believe the hair tonic was to aid transition from light speed.
December 2023 - I admire the A.I. effort. I know the original movie very well. It took a tremendous amount of work and thought and continuity to make that movie. Honestly, all the images look interesting. But I really don’t see the continuity and care to detail that the creators of the original movie had. But I have to admit, a lot of effort did go into this A.I. creation.
Thanks for review, yes I was using the original screenplay, copy a lot of text description from it and try different framing, also using some original film stills to feed the AI to help me in the frame composition or some details. A fair review ;) thanks again
More power to you! @@kubikmilk
Fascinating! The state of AI is still in it's infancy and though there are alot of concerns with it in all facets of our lives going forward, it's still incredible in what it can accomplish. The Krell depicted in this video have a very menacing presence in a "Lovecraftian" cosmic horror way reminding me of The Old Ones & Cthulhu!
That's a mistake. The AI doesn't distinguish between the Krell and their imagination or Id, as Morbius explained. They should appear as an intellectually superior and aloof. Yet physically non-threatening. But a people betrayed by their own inner demons. Which the AI wrongly depicts as the Krell.
Right on !
Give that man a Gold Star in Art Direction! The Machine and Creature, Superb! Of course, nothing here that can top Anne's legs, but even so...
Couldn't agree more!
I saw this movie at a Midnight Show in Georgetown, DC in 1976. It was Fantastic 😊❤ !
Me also when I was a kid, in the 70s on b&w TV, later in the 90s on TCM color :)
I still prefer the original. But it is an interesting take on it. I bit steampunk.
Always the original will be the best, but we can imagine now with AI tech what if ...
Mind bending! The wonderful versions of the Krell 'machine' and lab; the flight-deck of C-57D; the very earthly dress and uniforms. Wow! Hard-edge meets organic.
Thanks for the details you remark in the review :)
brilliant work. captured the theme, images, soundtrack. everything fits as it should. subscribed
Thanks for the review
Wild! I love these type of Mash-Ups.
Thank you ! and welcome
Fabulous images and nostalgic soundtrack. It all shows what a terrific remake of a classic film it could be. Many thanks.
Unfortunately a remake would not have this look or feel and would probably be awful just like the "Day the Earth Stood Still".
thats true, we experiment styles, and also I used Technicolor in the prompt, wich was not yet available in the 50s.
Welcome, thanks a lot, i will make a longer one :) but a remake of the original sounds, like a tribute to The Barrons: Forgotten Pioneers of Electronic Music.
Very trippy! Reminds me of the 70s.
Thank you, maybe because I used Technicolor in text prompt.
... such a great movie, and waaaaayyy ahead of its time.
I agree, a milestone and a inspiration in sci-fi movies
Striking images. Well done.
Thank you so much :) it gives energy for the next project :)
Danger Will Robinson! I’m flailing my metal hooks wildly!
funny :) cheers
We weren't supposed to get to the Moon until 2090.
So we should get hyperdrive any day now.
well, science fiction :) retro. Maybe thats why 2001 remains the milestone in Sci-fi, it is like a documentary film from one possible future, ex. BBC12 on the tablet :) or distant video call ...
One of my favourite films. I made my dad take me to see it when it came out, I was only 8. I think your treatment is excellent. Very good work.
Thank you, I share your feelings, the sci-fi of our chillhood. What is interested, the old sci-fi movies, before CGI technology, has a more powerful story telling and mood that actual movies with big VFX and CGI, but the magic of acting is decaying, dont you have that feelings to ?
I’ll say 1 thing it makes look more creepy and with the original music it takes on a new level of outa this world 🌎
thanks, thats why I choose the original soundtrack.
Love it. Well done!
Thank you so much. best
It’s like looking at;a ‘comic book’of science fiction image’s!And,this is;science fiction,here!
lovely work, great interpretation of the original film and the fifties costumes
Thanks a lot, that counts ! :) best
This stuff is great! They need to redo this classic with George Clooney playing the professor!
Thank you, great ideea :) Clooney as Morbius
This was the first movie that portrayed hyperspace travel between planets.
A milestone in sci-fi movies
Brilliant images and sound!
Thank you, I means a lot :)
I was very impressed with the machinery inside the earth ship and its overall reimagined look. The surface of Altair IV looks great with the massive Krell machines, which look even better on the interior shots. The ID ‘monster’,great,Robby with all his variations..mood swings?..Altaira…Gotta say,it’s not the same without Anne Francis.Otherwise,it’s brilliant.
Thank you for the detailed review. I try to improve the content with each release. Cheers
FORBIDDEN PLANET is near perfect as it is - no redos, remakes or retrovisions are necessary!
But we experiment with imaginations not concurent with the original
This Ai art is intriguing but I don't think it is quite there yet.
not yet, you right !
Morbius: “That door is solid Krell metal, nothing can get to us now”
Yeah right…..Look how that turned out!
yep, true :) cheers
Fantastic; your environments, and your tech (the Astrogator especially) are remarkably rational and stable. It really looks like the components and control surfaces make sense. Subbed!
Many thanks! I try to improve the prompts to get more contextual meanings in the images
The best sound effects !
and way ahead of its time
Beautiful artwork! Can they be purchased?
Thanks a lot :) SURE it is possible if you are interested. contact me via personal email abudritan@gmail.com to figure out what do you want: digital story book, digital print formats (if you want to print them in large formats) I have AI Tools to scale with details. cheers and Thanks again
Now thís is the best neural interpretation of FB, these images are awesome and of course the score is timeless 🚀
Thanks a lot.
My All-Time #1 Film🚀👨🏻🚀
Me to :) cheers and thanks
@@kubikmilk 💫🌕🚀🛸
The focus upon "Bug Eyed Monsters" detracts from the magesty of the Krell. The interpretation of the Id Beast at the end is more terrifying than in the original, but it requires a superior "clean" tech contrast between the goals of the Krell and reality of the beast.
I agree, in same time I put myself in the 50s retro sci-fi tech movies, so the visual effects are more explicit exposed in the frame, it destroy little bit the mystery :) but it was also a choice of esthetics to show how AI see the "monster". Also I liked the reaction of the character. the only things where I keep consistency in the frames was the "Big Krell Machine".
Loathe as I am to admit it, some of this A.I. imagery is quite compelling and lovely to behold.

sometimes happens :)
Fascinating.
Thanks a lot ! cheers
Ai with some Forbidden Planet music.
more or less :)
I’d love to see this movie.
cheers ! a good movie before sleep :)
1) She sure is wearing a lot of clothing as in covering up her skin, that changes the story quite a bit. 2) You can't improve on the original Robby.
I notice this details. 10x
This is certainly good stuff in its way, though I am not entirely sure what to make of it.
Thanks, cheers.
Absolutely Awesome!!!
This is one of my all-time favorite flicks. This artwork fit perfectly into the theme, atmosphere and vibe of FP.
Chills aplenty...
Thanks.
welcome, a small tribute to The Barrons.
Amazing art, how do you generate the images.
Thanks, well using MidJourney, with different prompts to describe the cienamtic frame like that: "Forbidden Planet" a 1950s retro sci-fi film adapted and directed by alfred hitchcock, medium side-angle shot, off-center, Ektachrome film still, Warm glowing --ar 2:1 --v 5.2
I have a new favourite video of your site
Thank you a lot ! more to come I hope
Anne Francis stars in Forbidden Planet, oh o oh oh, on a late night double feature picture show. By RKO...
Very cool.
Thanks
I recognize the original sound effects!
This was the ideea, to create a Trailer with original sound using AI for imagination
Amazing
Thank you ! coming soon with more from the topic :)
*I see that the AI likes to put stuff in glass.*
Well :) to keep safe the monsters
That Earth Creature Has Stolen My Illudium Q-36 Space Modulator… 😘☠️
:) cheers
Interesting steampunk flavor to the art.
cheers !
Robbie Jr. Sits on my selves. Until my great grand daughter comes over ! She loves him ! But will he survive?
funny :) cheers
My daughter, Alta, exists in my mind from microsecond to microsecond, while I manipulate.
In AI processes of GPUs microsecond to microsecond :)
FANTASTIC photos in this video! It would a make a award winning movie. Just one thing though: Alfred Hitchcock had NOTHING to do with "The Thing from Another World" as you state. According to Wikipedia: "The Thing from Another World, sometimes referred to as just "The Thing", is a 1951 American black-and-white science fiction-horror film, directed by Christian Nyby, produced by Edward Lasker for Howard Hawks' Winchester Pictures Corporation, and released by RKO Radio Pictures". Additionally, Alfred Hitchcock had absolutely nothing to do with Forbidden Planet! Again, according to Wikipedia: "Forbidden Planet is a 1956 American science fiction film from Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, produced by Nicholas Nayfack, and directed by Fred M. Wilcox from a script by Cyril Hume that was based on an original film story by Allen Adler and Irving Block."
That’s the whole point of this presentation, it’s as if Forbidden Planet was made 10-20 years earlier and directed by a different person.
Thanks for the explanation, yes this is the concept, to experiment to imagine things that was not made :) yet
Thank you for the references, i wanted to the The Thing (1982) directed by John Carpenter, i will try to mix, fusion the movies :) next project on my dashboard !
0:20 *Is that a Beryllium Sphere?*
yep, and next is the Hyper-Drive :)
I *thought* it looked like a Warp Core! Same principles I suppose.@@kubikmilk
Alfred Hitchcock? What universe is this from?!
from AI imagination using text extracts from the original screenplay.
Interesting, but sometimes LESS is MORE.
:) I get your drift
Wonderful i hope a AI remake can be done.
Thanks
interesting BUT the original Robby still looks the best!
I agree :)
😳 Jinkies, this is some Great Retro …
All Art Directors, take note!
If you remake it, do it in the Original Frame of the Source, but at a scale undreamed of by the past.
No need to remake this masterpiece, it's still as good today as it was in 1956 🙂
@@Lazarusart Completely Agree…
… just a note to any Art Directors working in the industry.
Imagine a New James Bond flick set in the Cold War; or a War of the Worlds set in the 1880s.
Thanks for review :) i will try other experiments in this ideea. cheers
I will try one, good remarks and concepts. thanks
😳 yeah, it’s that good!
Thank you, to be continued :)
Maybe AI will should take over Hollywood if human directors can do nothing more than comic book hero movies!
Thanks good one :)
How about a Ai Krell getting a brain boost.😮
That's an interesting idea!
Bro, you should be doing graphic novels or comic books with those images! But an original storyline! I'm a sci fi short story writer. Let me know if you need some original story lines... why duplicate a story that has already been told when you can take your incredible images and create something fresh and new?
I agree with you. Here is the first THE SPORE ★ try ua-cam.com/video/f4kZBenNz8w/v-deo.html
need to work on your Robots!
:)
I like the original film more.
original is always the best :)
In my opinion, and I’m sure you understand the relationship between anal orifices and opinions, I feel AI detracts from the creativity and ingenuity of the human mind. The “stunning” and surrealistic visuals subsume the emotion and message of the storyteller. The original, while of that era were impressive, the visuals only heightened the experience of the story and did not overwhelm the underlying menace of relying on machine intelligence. Following this rabbit hole will only lead to the loss of imagination and creation, atrophy of artistic talent, and subversion of the narrative to simple byplay. The message is clear. Surrender cognitive skills to the machine and the machine becomes the master.
To be onest, I like your point of view and how do you expose your opinions about AI generated images, it is true, if you are in a process to creat a piece of art it can be somehow distracting or predictive in the output or to random or unrealistic. In my case, this channel, I use AI to give a sense to my electronic music (here is not the case) to create soundscapes that sustain the imaginary.
Mind you Forbidden Planet wasn’t about the dangers of machine intelligence. It was about the dangers of unbraked organic imagination.
Nice, but I prefer the original movie.
cover version :)
Original still better, AI in this case means “Ain’t Improved.”
It is a remix :) cover version
Sure is a lot of complicated pictures.
it is a selection to get in aprox under 7 min, but of course they are a lot of variants and also funny outputs :)
No! Not even close to the original production art and set design! Robby says No!
I like some of these esthetics. Others are over the top. Too camp. Too exaggerated. Less is more.
I will try a better, objective :) selection next time
@@kubikmilk Don't get me wrong, it was amazing and beautifully done. But Forbidden World is my goto scifi. I must have watched 30 to 40 times in my life. This movie inspired J. Michael Straczynski to create Babylon 5. One of my top 3 scifi series. Forbidden Planet was far ahead of it's time. Even with the camp. I wish some of the scenes you created were in the movie. Much respect..
I'll stick with the original.
original is always the best :) It is more of an exercise of imagination
『禁断の惑星』
yep :)
Nah I'll take the original
I agree :)
Bears little resemblance to the movie or book. Why the hell did you include Hitchcock other than to capture anyone's attention. Jump on board the band wagon that is heading for stardom. Pointless/ tasteless
I used Hitchcock in cinematic styling of the prompts, it is not just to capture attention.
Not interested in ai generated content. I'm more interested in content developed by humans
I respekt your choice :)
Nice Eye For AI, Guy. 👁️
haha :) thank you. I think this is the 6th output what I done with this topic, but they improve the AI model and also I learn more about cinema aesthetics and artists
