@@AnneofAllTrades Thank You! I don't know why your channel popped up on my youtube but I'm glad it did and I'm glad I saw Daniel step out and making that 30- year plan. I have a cousin that is now 100 and he is still getting around so it is not crazy thinking. I love that I'm moving back to East Texas to be around him as long as I can. Keep up the good work.
I watched some of the other videos, I'm up to speed. Can't wait to see the new shop all set up. My wife and I are downsizing soon but that doesn't include the shop, LOL. Im looking for a tidy little house with a really big garage!
You couldn't have found a better successor. Sadly, there will likely be many more animals needing rescue available for your new farm. All the best to the both of you.
@@AnneofAllTrades The manner in which you show your concern for the rescues at your former farm forecasts the good life your future companions will enjoy. I'm happy for y'all and look forward to watching your new adventures.
Anne, not only did you pass on the torch but you left it lit real bright for Darrel to get a running start, he'll do very well. Happy for your new journey and fresh start in Tennessee and also Happy for us your audience in this platform that get to fallow and learn from you, Win Win all around.
It's good that both of you are not magnets. Both so positive. You are amazing and so is Darrel. Being 77 years old and having a 30-year-plan is just great. Good luck to both of you.
I love your drive so much Anne. I've been in love with woodworking, gardening and carpentry since I was a child - I'm about to turn 40 next month. I am closing on my very first home next month and I simply cannot wait to have a garage workspace and a basement. It sounds so silly to some people, but I truly have been waiting for this day my entire life to have this space, so I can relate to you talking about how much further ahead you'd have been if you'd started earlier in life, but I think you're on the right track. I look forward to seeing what you do in the future.
Kind of bittersweet, the leaving the old challenge and the undertaking of a new challenge. Anne, Challenge hasn't got a chance for people like you and Darrel. Look forward to following Darrell as he makes your start his own and watching you do your magic in Tennessee!
Sad to hear that you are leaving the gorgeous rescue animals behind.... but to move them all to different conditions in Nashville will be hard... and thank goodness the new owner 'Mr D' is taking them all on... and will continue keeping on what you started. Plus keeping you in the loop of how it is all going too :-) 'Mr D's' grandies will love hanging out on the little farmlet... thanks for letting us all meet 'Mr D' too :-)
Best of luck to Darrel and Penny. I hope you will both be very happy on your new homestead. Aw Anne, you get to visit your furry friends. And they're in great hands by the looks of it . Bittersweet though huh? Aw, hugs to you wee Annie and looking forward to your fresh start with more knowledge under your belt. Will you do anything different this time? Exciting times those fresh starts.
I can appreciate his "30-Year Plan." At 61 I am (with my hubby) acquiring about 23 acres of land that has been in his family for well over 100 years. I will be spreading out to build a new hen house, a bigger garden and such. That gives me a better quantity of stored foods and a small shop for my tools (#ladieswithtools). I told my husband, "I'm retired, not dead." How wonderful that you found a family that wants to improve upon and continue your farm's story rather than tear down and redo. It's a Win-Win.
I'm so excited for your next journey! Keeping moving keeps you young. My mentor is 100 this year and still spends 8 hours a day in his shop and keeps a beautiful garden. He's quite a special fellow!
We are moving back to WA from TX now that I'm retired. We had a dairy goat farm and were planning to take them with us but research says some would suffer from the transition. Not wanting to lose a single one, we gave our entire herd to a close friend who lost their herd from hurricane Harvey. You likely made a good choice.
Sounds like you absolutely made the right choice for your animals and a selfless one at that! If you need help finding new goats in Washington, don't hesitate to let me know, I know lots of folks up there.
So happy for you. My grandmother's farm was recently up for sale, bank foreclosure. Both my sister and I said only if. As it turns out, a friend of hers knows the people who bought it. They concacted us since they want to know what it was like when it was properly kept. Over the years it's fallen in disrepair. The barn is pretty much lost. But the new owners sound like they really want to do something with the place. I'm hoping to get some of the wood from the barn to make a few things, since it will probably be coming down. Good luck to you.
Good luck to Darrel and Penny. Anne, you are just an awesome lady. Good luck and best wishes to you and your family. I love watching your journey here on UA-cam and Instagram. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
We are wishing him well as well. Just got off the phone with him actually, and he's having the time of his life. It makes it a whole lot easier to put down full roots here in Nashville knowing our old dreams are in such capable hands!
So sad to think/know that this is last video, I’m assuming, from your beautiful farm. However I’m really looking forward to upcoming videos at your new farm.
You remind me of the series, Anne with an E. Can do, let’s go, that’s not a problem but a challenge! Congrats to you and Darryl on your new farms! We will miss you in the PNW but will surely follow the new adventures and journey. God speed and blessings to you.
Thanks so much! I loved reading Anne of Green Gables when I was a kid. Haven't had a chance to see the show yet. We will definitely miss the PNW but are also so excited for what's next in TN.
Anne, you are an absolutely, amazing person. I know how difficult this must have been for you to let go and chase a new dream. There are so many lessons to be learned from you. It brought tears to my eyes when you said you were leaving so many of your tools. I know you were doing that to ensure the new owner's success. Then I lost it when you said you were going to come back to help him with spring planting. It's been said no one cares how much you know until they know how much you care. You truly are a caring person. I'm happy your prayers have been answered.
What a wonderful video, making a melancholy moment into positive, exciting change, I'll be interested in seeing how Darrel and Penny continue what you've started, best of luck to them, and of course you and Adam in your new wonderland, thanks for sharing
He's an amazing guy with a wonderful family supporting him, and I'm only a plane ride away if he ever needs help! We both feel like we hit the lottery!!
It has to be sooo hard to leave all the goodness behind. I'm happy you found someone like Darrel to pass it on to. You now have a new life in Tennessee to build...I know you'll do great.
Thanks so much! Yes it was hard, but we are definitely excited about what's next for us in the South. We are in a for a wild ride and can't wait to bring ya'll with.
WOW! I can't imagine how difficult this video must have been for you Annie! Exciting that someone else is taking over and exciting for you to move on to something larger and something that will not only fulfill your dreams but create even more. Good luck in your move and don't forget to take us along with you when you have time! I can't wait to see what you will do next!!
Hi Anne, I'm not as old as Darrel and Penny, and I am jealous of their good health and enthusiasm. I think a 30-year plan is a bit over what they will be able to do, but good luck to them and to you. Some people would be overwhelmed by the thoughts of having to start all over again from scratch, but not you. I wish you all the luck you can manage, and I hope your new farm is as successful as this one.
What an awesome outcome for both you and Darrel, win win situation! 👍🏽 Wishing you both an abundance of happiness on the start of this leg in your epic journeys...👌🏽
I live next door to you in Missouri and love the midwest but its sad how much you are giving up and leaving behind. I've learned a lot from you and want to make a wood shop in my barn and will follow you again as you create your new spaces. My budget is more like yours but I still watch April for the "dream" shop too.
Thanks Chuck! In all honesty it was sad to leave all that stuff, but at the end of the day, it was just stuff. I am excited for the opportunity to have a fresh start.
I am Happy for you Anne, gonna miss you around here and hope you have even bigger and better adventures to come. Looking forward to seeing more vids from the south. Cheers!

That's great, that it works out for both families
Absolutely!
Wow! He is just perfect for your farm and very inspiring to be 77years old and getting your beautiful garm with and dream shops.😊
We agree!
How awesome to have found the right person to take on not just the farm, but the care of the animals! Great news!
Heck yeah!

I'm so glad you found the right steward to take care of your farm. It's a wonderful thing. And gotta love the kitten zoomies in the middle!
Absolutely the best feeling leaving that place in such good hands. Makes it way easier to focus on the mountain of work ahead of us here in Tennessee!

So nice to see that the both of you got what you wanted out of this transaction.
Thank you for making me smile more then I have in a long time.

Outstanding video. Best wishes on your new journey. I’ll be a forever subscriber
That makes me so happy to hear! Can't wait to share the next steps :)
What a lucky buyer to be able to carry on what you started. Glad your farm will be in good hands and excited to see your new start in Nashville
Thank you! We are just as excited to have found such great stewards, and can't wait to hit the ground running in Nashville.
The torch has been past. Great job.
I loved this video. Thank you for sharing. My mind is now also at ease about your wonderful property your leaving in Washington.

Way to pass it on and you're never to old to learn something
Wow, this is amazing. What a guy! And God really provided with you levaing the farm in really good hands. Godspeed, to all of you.
