To me, one of Anderson Cooper's best moments as well as saddest, was after the Pulse nightclub shooting he read the names of all the victims. He choked up a lot of times through it, and it's hard to watch, but I always admired how he did that.

About 25 years ago, when Anderson Cooper was a much younger man reporting for Channel 1 News, he found his hotel was in the middle of a riot ... so he promptly grabbed a camera and went outside and reported on it from the middle of the riot. He's *always* decided that the story is more important than his safety.

I completely understand what you're saying. I respect and admire Anderson Cooper as well but in this context, let's not use the word "brave" loosely. The real bravery is being shown by the Ukranian people who are under siege. Also there are millions of people who are protesting this war from inside Russia who are at risk of prosecution or worse. I just wish the United States could do more to support Ukraine but we must remember that we are dealing with a madman.

In 1917 Eino Leino one of Finland's national poets wrote "Terve Ukraina".
Two days after Russia declared war on Ukraine, there were protests all over Finland, in Helsinki the Sibelius academy choir (one of the biggest music universities in Europe) sang a rendition of the poem. Ever since then different renditions have been playing everywhere, on the radio, in public transport, in public places etc..
    The English translation
Hail Ukraine! May your honour ring out,
as a cry for the dawning tomorrow!
May your strength and the flame of your love
    demand, make a free land!
Proud Ukraine! Do not falter now!
The dawn of the nations will come one day.
Calmly and firmly repel your peril,
or if need be, strike down as lightning!
Beautiful Ukraine, the salt of nations!
You have the flag and we have the way.
With you in the storm stand Finland and Poland,
    Also Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
Forwards, Ukraine! You are not a slave,
you are that which you dream and want to be.
Do you hear the choir great and graceful
like the sea of nations getting angry?
    New Ukraine, wonderful and bold!
    Your wide streams glimmer,
And in your purple flowers of freedom blossom
Mordovia, Grusinia, Perm and the rest!
    The time has come for the peoples of Russia to rise;
break the chains imposed by the Tzars!
    Shine; Ukraine! Draw your bow,
light up the road of a sovereign nation's work!
If you want to hear it sung, look up
"Terve Ukraina" (Finnish 100 year poem sung all over Finland now) Українські субтитри!"
There are other renditions as well, this one has English and Ukrainian subtitles.

When Trump held a private party for Russian officials in the oval office and handed over classified information, only allowing Russian state media inside to record what was going on, the republicans in congress said nada. And now those same hypocrites talk about weakness by Biden. Let's also not forget how the NRA collected all the Russian money during the 2016 election. Or the fact that Trump withheld military aid to Ukraine in an attempt to force their president to create a fake investigation into Biden's son in order to try and help himself get reelected and the republicans in congress not only said nothing but acquitted him of all charges during his impeachment. Basically the republican party became Putin's b____ for the last 5 years at least and now talks tough because he invaded Ukraine while a democrat was president. The only thing republicans give a ______ about is money and power. When it comes to average Americans or average Ukrainians they don't give a _____.
