Why Give to Eden Streets?
Homelessness is one of society’s greatest challenges, and it takes a collective effort across all sectors to address it meaningfully. As former Senate President Wayne Niederhauser, Utah's State Homeless Coordinator, has shared, “our neighbors experiencing homelessness need a place, a purpose, and peer support.” Eden Streets provides all three by offering job training in sustainable farming using a client-driven, human-centered approach. Under the leadership of Farmer Karl, we’ve seen firsthand how this urban farming work builds trust, empowers individuals, and strengthens our community. With your support, we can continue this crucial work of restoring dignity and hope.
Isaiah, a veteran and farm trainee at Grow Ogden, completed a Master Gardener course and got practical experience in foodscaping while in the Grow Ogden program. He plans to start a landscaping business. Working at Grow Ogden has helped him reunite with his family. After successfully graduating from Grow Ogden, Missy is fulfilling her dream to become a certified dog trainer. These stories are just a glimpse of the transformation happening on the farm. This year, we’ve raised $14,000 through a combination of donations, farm sales, and campaigns, but we are still $9,000 short of our target. Your contribution, no matter the amount, will help us close this gap and ensure that more individuals can benefit from this life-relaunching program.
With careful budgeting, committed staff, and community partnerships, Eden Streets has made the most of every dollar entrusted to us. In 2024, we hosted 49 volunteer events, 10 farm build days, and produced over 1,000 pounds of organic food, all on a budget of $36,000. In 2025, we hope to relaunch 12 people in two 13-week job-training sessions.
