i dont see the difference for the shadows tbh
Pay attention to the smoothness/softness of the shadows. In the older version the shadows are sharper, edges of the shadows especially noticeable.
I've seen a difference in the mirror. The sky is different in the mirrors. it's actually better quality daft really
there was literally no shadow at some points like for the bridge now there is; how can’t you don’t see lol
the difference is huge lol. There is no shimmering now at all, mostly due to the introduced softness on the edges. Finally.

Seems that, apart from a couple details, everything is pretty much the same, which is ok since they said it will first be a pixel-to-pixel identical. Did you notice any perfomance improvement?
It's more noticeable for people with higher resolutions as without TAA or any sort of super sampling, you will get a lot of flickering however too much can introduce blur. It would be interesting to see if it's has 2x, 4x options etc.
Guys, if you struggle to see the differences between the old patch and the new, take a close look to the fence's grids: with the TAA in the patch 1.50 they looks more smoother without the serrated effect that we still have in the 1.49 version of ETS and ATS... So there's a change, small but still there
It looks the same to me. Same flickery mess on all TAA settings. Maybe tad better, far from what was expected.
It's a slight improvement but the flickering at fences is still there. No where near as good as the guy who created his own TAA first.
ETS/ATS desperately needed TAA. Even though I hate TAA, i would still prefer it over the old AA method ATS had
I mean, ETS 2 is a pretty lightweight game by today's GPUs. You can easily use higher resolution scaling to smooth out edges. I do that on an RX 5700 (far from a new GPU), and it's very hard to hit the GPU limit during gameplay. More often than not I'm CPU limited in heavy traffic.
@@mondodimotori idk man, the jaggies are everywhere at 1080p even with 400% scaling.
@@rkshn I've noticed that. Internal resolution scaling doesn't work that great. 400% of 1080p is not that high res, for some reason.
That's why I use the GPU driver scaler, wich unlocks higher resolutions than that of your monitor and then performs the downsampling.
Try running a game at 4k res on a 1080p display and all edges are gone.
It's available both on nvidia and amd cards.
I feel stupid to ask this but what does TAA and AA mean?

The far shadows may seem like a small thing but will really do a lot for the overall visuals. Overall a nice update to graphics.

finally a new Anti-Antialiasing
When playing in virtual reality these "graphical anomalies" become very clear, this is a point that bothers me the most, no matter how powerful your computer is or the most technological virtual headset, these anomalies always appear and bother the most, whoever plays in screen doesn't feel as much as people who play in virtual reality,
but thankfully this will be minimized

Now that SCS can paint smoke in a certain way, what about adding exhaust gases?
It could just be me, but it feels like the framerate in 1.50 is lower? If you look at the basketballplayer at 1:37 you can really see a difference in motion.
Long distance shadows and a bit of image sharpening for detailed items, I can already see a big hit in performance probably...
Sooner or later you'll have to change your old pc...

@@ss304_82This has to be the only community that keeps saying stuff like this. If you can run everything else perfectly fine, upgrading to a supercomputer just to overcome a games optimization issues is silly. Clearly, ATS has optimization issues, which is what I was hoping this update would improve on. I'll have to try it for myself and see if it did. The new AA methods alone might be enough.

I think, especially, ETS2 needs some texture-wise overhaul. Game still uses some of the old textures from first release haha!

just some cosmetic updates, the real stuff will come later. Currently it is "pixel identical" to version 1.49 as Pavel said. But now they can use PBR materials for upcoming updates :) looking forward to raytraced reflections

I hate having to pay for that mod. But the TAA implementation that SCS did is much worse than the mod. I'm using the version with DLSS and it has much less flickering and blurring. Unfortunately, I will have to continue paying, because SCS does not have the competence to correct this problem.
@@oguilhermebr nope it's not. If you optimize your pc properly, right from bios settings to debloating windows & other tweaks, you can run the game in 4k with the latest gpus.
I don't see any immersion lowering visuals when set the graphics properly.
Also snowy is soon going to lose his business when 1.51 update rolls out or probably when the engine shifts to dx 12
I've used snowy's taa & that too had flickering but lower compared to stock scs
This is only a slight improvement vs the guy who created his own TAA without help or source code unlike SCS. Hopefully this implementation will get better.
@@ss304_82What's missing here is clarity even with maxed settings. There is more flickering with this TAA regardless of settings, it just is. Hopefully with in-house tweaks this can compete with the guy who created his own from nothing but currently this is a step in the right direction. I just don't want SCS to settle on this. It's only the beta so, we will see.
The Old one isn't bare, is it ? Must have 400 Scaling ?
Ergo... biggest difference is they look similar, but with TAA, GPU demand is a lot less.
Snowymoon's does shadows, too.
Overall I see less texture flickering, so let's call it progress

SCS said, that the real graphic changes comes with 1.51 or 1.52 and above.

Io non vedo differenza tra i 2 tranne che per le ombre e dopo quando il tir cammina sullo sterrato l'effetto polvere, che finalmente avete migliorato.
Speriamo sistemiate anche la pioggia l'effetto sulla strada e aggiungeste anche qualche pozzanghera.
L'effetto dell'acqua sotto il ponte una cosa oscena, brutto effetto delle onde in movimento....infine non avete cambiato o migliorato nulla

I'm keen to see if the stutters and flutters have been sorted. Graphics look great anyway it's the smothness I would like an improvement on.

Overall I don't see a big difference. I hope this update will improve the fps tho , as in the past year I lost about 10fps no matter what optimizations I've tried to make to my pc settings.

Sorry guys, but people are expecting a huge difference after 1.50 release... like a totally new engine with a modern graphics. Forget it. This will never happens with this game. Or at least on the next 5 years. These guys from SCS took 2 years to revamp a portion of the map that have only three cities. What a joke.

Snowy Moon did this much earlier. SCS copied his ideas.
SCS was probably implementing taa before snowymoon even started his thing
Adding TAA isn't really copying though.
And the quality of his plugin continues to be better than the TAA implementation that SCS itself did. 😂
If it wasn't for scs, there wouldn't be a game called ats for snowymoon to create a taa mod & mint money
Lol seems like they did. SCS did not do anything about anti aliasing in over a decade. The complaints were there. A team of coders vs one guy and SCS still came up short. I hope they don't settle on this.
