Thanks to Gordon A. Calder for sending us this clip he took with his mobile phone during one of our new year ceilidhs at Logie Durno.
This was our 'finisher' set that we play for an adapted version of the Orcadian Strip the willow. We often refer to it as the international strip the willow or more recently the brexit set. This ceilidh dance includes music from Scotland, Ireland and around Europe and South America. It usually goes down well at the end of the night before the traditional ceilidh band ending with Auld Lang Syne.
This particular Ceilidh dance is much longer than the usual ceilidh sets at around 20 minutes, this clip is just a short segment of the dance but captures the authentic atmosphere of a lively ceilidh audience. Something that everyone should experience. Especially in Scotland in a place like Logie Durno Hall with a bring your own bottle and food code. Ceilidh like how it used to be.
