That's similar to some songs of BTS, Mamamoo, etc. There are simple melodies but it's compensated by the lyrics, concept, thematic, etc. That's what I thought with 'Feel special' and it's one of my favorite title tracks.
The melody is simple cause this is an emotional song. Its aim is to touch the hearts of the listeners, no need for unnecessary beats and effects cause the lyrics itself gave justice to the song imo. You should read the english translations.
I agree. Similar to a lot a reaction channel they didn't pay any attention to the lyrics and the symbolism of the music video. This song has a message and is meaningful to the harsh times member have and are experiencing.

im kinda surprised they didnt choose to have a bridge or a high note in this song, i was looking forward to a sweet, meaningful mina bridge, followed by a powerful jihyo (or jeongyeon or nayeon) high note, followed by a chaeyoung and dahyun chorus. but regardless, i still love the song and i listen to it everyday lmAooo
I agree that the chorus is a bit simple. Usually Twice choruses are the stand out part but here I feel it's the other way round. The choruses also feel a little copy and paste. I don't think they changed them up at all (although happy to be proved wrong) None of these takes away from the fact it's a great track though. Dahyun's rap was awesome. Mina killed her part. The video is stunning as are the girls as always. I imagine the budget on outfits alone was a small fortune. So overall great. Just feel a bit more happening in the chrous really would make the song "feel special" 😉
The simple melody is balanced with the heavy meaning of the song. I wouldnt feel attached to an emotional song if it tries too hard to get my attention with beats and mixups, cause the lyrics would suffice imo
