This track kicked my ass.
Not even fucking kidding. A steel foot came out of my monitor, turned me around, and kicked me square in the ass.
I'm a life long nin fan and this piece is literally one of the harshest tracks Trent has ever put together. Just wish I could buy it somewhere so I didn't constantly have to come to UA-cam to listen.
I think the whole soundtrack of that movie can be bought somewhere, maybe at Amazon.
3 years late maybe, but I felt the same and on Japanese Amazon I found the complete Tetsuo soundtrack boxset. It's mostly Chu Ishikawa's amazing music, but this is on there too.
he released the track for free ya know, might be late but its for anyone else interested in downloading it

@@Echoplex25 thanks man, definitely adding it to my playlist
You might want to consider checking out Numb's Blood Meridian.
Second half of The Great Destroyer + The Second half of Pilgrimage = This song
First Quake then Tetsuo. NIN aren't playing around with collaboration
1:36 thats so unmistakably Trent's sound 👌👌👌 soooo good
A shame this was only played in the credits. Could have been awesome during a montage of madness.
If only Akira Yakaoma and Trent Reznor collaborated their minds together. Their music while different has a ton of similarities. They'd honestly produce an amazing and unique ost for a horror, psychology or and industrial Japanese themed movie or video game.
Edit: Akira Yamaoka
sure not. Too different style.
SeeDkngtSeifer Yamaoka said NIN is by far his biggest influence--they are totally similar! Are you kidding!?
they're both my biggest inspirations for my stuff.
Yakaoma ?
@@viewtiful1doubleokamihand253 He was the lead producer for the music of the Silent Hill series. If you want to hear some of his best work, check out Silent Hill 2 OST.
Trend needs to make an entire album based around this sound; this is what I always wanted NIN to sound like.
Tetsuopunk. I call it tetsuopunk
tetsuo the complete box man its been out for ever thers like 3 or 4 hours of this
@@shameful3604 WUT
@@badluckrabbit You can listen to it on UA-cam or get it easily off soulseek
Bad witch is kinda like this
How I haven't heard this masterpiece earlier? There is not enough music like this! Real industrial stuff. I wish Trent would make more tracks in that kind of style.
This is probably the most inaccessible song trent has ever released. But that's why it's gold for us
First nine inch nails song to me. Was disappointed that the few other songs from them didn't sound this harsh.
Downward Spiral and his recent album has some songs more inaccessible then this. This song has many catchy beats and shit. Very melodic
@@ringkunmori check out the single Burn
Correct. I am Raven with NO WINGS. CYRIC.
Redrum
True industrial sound.
My ears are bleeding and I love it
This reminds me of the "Broken/Fixed" era of NIN....LOVE IT
This is way closer to Year Zero.
@@al112v4I think it's in the middle between both
There's a LOT like it, but this is the first time in nearly two decades something of its quality has lovingly savaged our ears. Check out Einsturzende Neubauten, Skinny Puppy, Nitzer Ebb, and older Laibach if you want to hear more stuff in this vein, albeit not quite as stunningly produced as this.
So fuckin cool. I wish trent would wrap an album around this.
I kinda wish we got that instead of Hesitation Marks (Not to say that HM sucked through).
GasmaskAvenger I'd actually have to agree. I like HM too.
Death Temple Ascetic Justin Agreed! More experimental stuff like year zero! Please
@HWB: Hell yeah, you're right. Add Violence has a few super noisy moments like this song too.
It's called Bad Witch
The first part sounds like what happens when you import raw data in Audacity
Now THAT is a rip frame on my diodes
I wish there was some vault of unreleased NIN material like this. Oh well.
You're listed on the official NIN site under discography for UA-cam! Congrats lol
Beauty buried in chaos. Trent’s signature.
Sure wish Trent had made a whole album of this!
A few portions of the "Not the Actual Events" EP remind me of this piece.
@@GasmaskAvenger Reminds me of some of the music from Year Zero 🎶
@@GLITZandGLOOM I AM THE GREAT DESTROYUHHHHHHHHHHHHHH BLOOO BLOOOO BLEEE BLEEE BLOOO BLOOO KRSHHH
check out “herehear - black bomb” it’s a song by trent that has some vocals but the track is similar to the louder parts of this
Dead on, I was revisiting year zero and all I could do was imagine industrial body horror music. We need a year zero part 2
1:24 scares me every time
Try hearing that for the first time...whilst driving. 😅
I legit just shit myself listening for the first time
no idea why people are saying they took so long to get into this song. ive listened to nin for like 6 months and this was one of my favourites on my first listen
This is the only NIN song I genuinely listen to
Edgelords
hey this is my yearly post asking trent to put this on spotify, thanks buddy
Man, hearing this kick in on the Japanese blu-ray is great, especially considering how brutal the rest of the film's lossless sound mix is.
Maybe one of my favorite track ever. Beyond the raw and violent sounds, it has something so beautiful in it. The horns hits me so hard everytime. Absolutely briliant and magistral.
This track never fails to shock and thrill me.
I always think - we need more like this - but is this just that perfect piece that has no other form
?
Ah, love it when he reverts to his TG (Throbbing Gristle) inspired industrial roots.
Even when he is improvising he is still brilliant. Nothing can stop this man.
I think Trent needs to get his Atari 2600 fixed.
Such an amazing song. I really hope Trent produces his next album like this.
11 years and I'm still holding out with you strong bröther
This is the first Ninch Inch Nails I think I've ever heard, and HORY SHET IT'S AWESOME.
Thanks
I was listening to someone drill through brick and it got this song caught in my head.
It took me so long to get into this song, and once I did I thought it was a masterpiece
Welcome to how it feels when first listening to one of Trent's songs lmao
this sounds like something you hear inside an MRI, while under anesthesia
Like sonic razors on my soul
most of the Tesuo soundtracks are fantastic. mostly due to Chu ishikawa. my fav of his is Chu Ishikawa - Double corpuse. Industrial all the way. classic industrial mind you.
Parts of this remind me of Merzbow but more music-like.
kind of like something off of the merzbeat album
I would enjoyed more noize style music from NIN. I never could care about watching f*cking The Social Network, always loved the soundtrack.
This couldn't have been done by any other band. Trent Reznor ftw.
It's actually a blatant, total tribute to Chu Ishikawa - the original composer for Tetsuo, and one of the godfathers of Industrial music.
Still, this couldn't have been done as well by anybody ELSE, for sure!
@@sirwootalot not often I see comments this stupid. Good job.
@@esolo114 Chu Ishikawa (and his group Der Eisenrost) wrote the soundtrack to Tetsuo the Iron Man in 1988, when Trent Reznor was still just a Ministry fanboy with a keyboard. You owe it to yourself to check out his body of work.
1:48 Quake jumping sound tho.
*H U H !*
That took me several relistens to catch that, but thats definitely from Quake.
for some reason i imagined this over neon genesis evangelion. if there's ever another eva project launched by anno, trent's gotta do the score.
It could work in a battle scene. Like shinji is freaking out then snaps out of it, 1:30 something. Fighting a psychic type angel.
I think my GBA froze while evolving my Charmander.....
lifelong NIN fan, meaning since PHM, and i always loved when trent did stuff like this! to me it was always every sound reznor had in his brain at the time, and he would just slam it all together. (see BROKEN and FIXED albums for reference)
I love this track. I overdosed on industrial sound reminds me of old school NIN. And the dramatic parts are fantastic. Really pulls me in.
I could see MC Ride rapping over this.
same
c'mon Ride, at least 26 people want it.
right!
I'd rather be blind than see that.
BLO BLO BLO BLO OH NO, BLO BLO BLO HOT HEAD, OH NO
to express my feelings towards this amazing piece of music i would have to compose something similar, and i just dont have that ability, god bless you mr reznor
Trent Reznor and Akira Yamaoka need to collaborate and make some of the greatest music ever.
This is godly industrial at its finest
"godly industrial"
Probably in my top 5 of anything Trent has worked on. Definitely deserves a full release.
what a fucking masterpiece
Holy shit Trent, We need more like this ♥️
It's a great introduction, it's got elements of all parts of NIN's incarnations. If you decide to dive in his catalog, hopefully you find as much joy as fans do.
Still can’t stop thinking about this song
NIN doing Power Electronics? Neet-o 👌🏻
This is a masterpiece
Yes... the first time I listen to this that's exactly what I thought. Even after the 100th listen of this track I still think the same thing... really great stuff from Trent, nice to hear some 'old school' style with his new material....
This is in my head rent free on repeat
The best work NIN has done in years!
I still get Goosebumps when I hear this song. Most pure nin.
Further Down the Spiral, Fixed, The Downward Spiral, and the Quake soundtrack all have aspects of this. The Quake score especially has some similar things, as well as Driver Down which is a TR song for the excellent film Lost Highway.
definitely fitted in with the movie, brilliant music for the film having watched all three this sort of metal electronic music fitted perfectly with the movie theme
absolutely brilliant. a great return track for NiN
Okay - I've said it before and I'll say it again - this song is fucking incredible. The first time I heard it - it blew my mind - like listening to The Downward Spiral for the first time - I thought it was the end of Nine Inch Nails and then he released this - it is nuts. So many songs into one, so much passion and emotion. Brilliant stuff - surprisingly one of my fav NIN songs - I don't usually take to stuff that quickly either!
Fantastic !
Funny you say that, because this is some seriously old-school industrial. Look up Laibach - Drzava, Einsturzende Neubauten - Headcleaner, Ministry - Land of Rape and Honey...
1:06 And suddenly this gets from disturbing to beautiful... and then back to disturbing again. ^^
the tetsuo trilogy is a very solid set of movies
Just watched the film. I fucking knew Trent Reznor would love this brilliant shit.
This is the Nine Inch Nails that I know and love.
Incredible!
God, I love this track so much.
phenomenal
A chaotic masterpiece.
This is so good I love it
Happy to be part of this. Awesome musician of this era
2:35
Wow well freaking done
Perfection !
Would love it if the album had this kind of crazy vibe to it. NIN doesn't need to pander to reaching a radio audience anymore...let How to Destroy Angels do that since he seems so content on giving HTDA more exposure.
I'm not saying Nine Inch Nails has to always sound like the Fragile, but I enjoy NIN when there's something with a lot of substance there...and this track has it!
I love this. It is carefully directed Chaos! Only the best from Trent!
I've been listening to this a LOT over a couple of days and I bloody love it. But to be honest, if this was my first introduction to Nine Inch Nails I probably would have run a mile!
My first taste of NIN was Closer, just like it was for most NIN fans. I loved Closer from first listen but skipped the instrumentals at the end as more and more overlays were added. Now I listen to anything NIN. The hard stuff is definitely an acquired taste.
that was amazing!
I feel as if I've garnered legitimate insight into the mind of a paranoid schizophrenic.
Not even close
This is the antidote to my headache 🔥🔥🔥
How hugely disappointing that this track did NOT feature in the movie at all.
That's a shame. The track would have really suited some key scenes in the film. This is probably one of my favourite Reznor productions of recent times. Still, not a bad film. Thanks for the info.
it pops up in the end credits on the IFC DVD
GasmaskAvenger YEAH, in the theatre when I saw it, IT HAD THE SONG during the credits!
GasmaskAvenger Aka, not "in" the film. Haha
+33hegemon I'm pretty sure a fair portion of it was in the end credits.
wow. I am genuinely enchanted by it
20 something years later, the sprinkler behing the guy freaking out doesnt work anymore.
Holy fuck this is awesome! How did I miss this?
love this
Sounds like Trent Reznor is returning to his Coil roots.
Maybe there is hope in the future.
no this is almost 6 years old track. He is retired for sure :)
They're making a new album. Trent doesn't just.. retire..
As Nine Inch Nails or other project with Atticus Ross?
As Nine Inch Nails.
said album is really an EP has been out for a month. You may have heard it already though
my fave nin track
Nice vid.
i think that although musically its not something i would listen to constantly, it fits perfectly to the Tetsuo theme and feel,
Back again 😍
haven't seen the movie yet. but after seeing the trailer, this music really fits in the movie
OMG THIS IS AWESOME
Without thinking, I held my breath for the first 30 seconds of this song. I didn't know until my chest started to burn.
This makes me uncomfortable and I love it.
Thought this was Akira Ost on Soundcloud. I'm kinda dumb for not learning bout this sooner
this is beautiful - I'd seen this movie before but somehow I'd either forgotten or didn't know that Trent did the theme.
This is hectic. Love it. I think it has plenty of NIN-like elements to i.
