    Feotal Doppler amzn.to/2KgylqN
    Dopplar Gel - amzn.to/2r394HQ
AS A WORD OF WARNING PLEASE DON'T USE A DOPPLER IF YOU HAVE ANY CONCERNS DURING YOUR PREGNANCY ESPECIALLY LATER ON, IF YOU ARE FEELING IN ANY WAY UNCERTAIN ABOUT THE BABYS MOVEMENTS WHEN YOU ARE IN THE THIRD TRIMESTER PLEASE GO TO A MIDWIFE, DO NOT RELY ON JUST THE HEART BEAT TO KNOW THE BABY IS OK! IF SOMETHING DOESN'T FEEL RIGHT GET IT CHECKED OUT! A DOPPLER SHOULDN'T BE SOMETHING YOU RELY ON.
Here is a written version of my hints and tips for trying to find you baby’s heartbeat as early as possible. Its not uncommon to find it as early as 9/10 weeks but generally after 12 weeks you should be able to pick it up very easily.
Make sure the battery is fully charged on the Doppler and only use Ultrasound Gel.
Lotions and oils will cause you to have static and can damage the probe too. It will last you a long time as a little goes a long way.
I found that lying flat usually helps as it compresses the body tissue and therefore the probe can pick up on the frequencies but more efficiently.
-Place the gel just above the pubic bone, set the probe onto the tummy and then switch it on to reduce the loud static noise.
-If your really early like me and trying to check it around 9 weeks try a full bladder as that can sometimes lift the uterus out of the pelvic bone region.
After 12ish weeks it’s usually VERY Easy to pick up the heart beat.
-I would say start just central under the belly button and by the pubic bone and angle the Doppler slightly downwards. Then in small circular motions glide the probe side to side.
The earlier along in pregnancy the lower in the abdomen you will hear the heartbeat. Early in the pregnancy (8-12 weeks) you will likely hear the heartbeat just above your pubic bone and slightly angle the probe downwards.
-The Doppler probably won’t pick up the actual heart rate at this point but you may be able to hear it.
So move really slowly and take your time. If you think how tiny the little bub is at this point the heart will literally be a flicker. So is easily missed and masked by other noises in the abdomen.
You will probably hear your own heartbeat a number of times before you pick up your baby's.
I found that the baby's heartbeat is often masked just behind the placenta beat.
-Locate the whooshing placenta noise and then just move the doppler ever so slowly, it's likely you will hear a more faint and faster heartbeat near to where you found your own. This should sound a lot more like the “gallop of a horse” compares to a “windy whoosh” sound. (have a look at my UA-cam video to see it in action)
-A heart rate between 60-100 range is NOT the baby but yours. You have lots of veins and arteries supplying the placenta and growing uterus which is picked up very easily on the Doppler. A baby’s is much faster.
-If you can’t find it within 5 minutes, give it a rest and try a few days later.
DON’T STRESS YOURSELF OUT as its sooo tiny it’s easily missed especially if you have a low lying bean. You can try emptying your bladder and see if it works. And I’d say the best time to try is in the morning when you don’t have gas or bloating obstructing the probe.
Pressing hard WONT hurt the baby but obviously be sensible about it. And using a Doppler is known to be safe in general.
Enjoy you pregnancy and sending lots of love to all the mummies,
feel free to message me on here or my Instagram @maena_s (which I check more regularly)

This video was so helpful! I thought I was a pro at this since it’s my third pregnancy but I never tried so early. I’m exactly 9 weeks (and I’m 100% sure on my dates within a day or 2) and found the heartbeat 1 minute after watching this video after no success for 30 minutes prior. Definitely is way easier and more distinctive to hear the heartbeat at 10+ weeks.

This was so helpful! I’ve watched a lot of other videos and couldn’t find the heartbeat until I watched this one. I had no idea that the heartbeat in the middle was the placenta. Before I was avoiding that area and looking elsewhere when I heard my heartbeat. But after watching this I found the placenta and looked around and “under” it, and there was baby!! First time hearing the heartbeat!!

Just being as calm and as relaxed as possible goes a very long way to helping you to have a very easy process during your pregnancy. Don’t bother with the outside world, only focus on you and bubba.

You know when I was born, apparently my father used to listen to opera “Pavarotti” from what I was told. When I used to weep as a baby, my father would joke with my mother that: “There you go, “Pavarotti is singing.”

When an Indian baby is born, traditionally the familial seniors will be there to gently massage the baby’s body with some warm oil (I think) such as the head and the torso.

    Hey Bhaini...Badhai Hoon Aap ke.
I’ve got a tip from the family. It’s an ancient Indian one, where in the old days a baby wasn’t born in a hospital with the bright overhead led lights. Try and ensure that the lighting is quite low, only lighting a small Diya as this will not be a huge sudden overwhelming stress on the new baby’s vision. It’ll give it ample time to adjust to the new world it’s born in.

    • @MaenaRS
      @MaenaRS  6 років тому +2

Hey thank you soo much! What a brilliant idea, I love how the use of a diya would give a ambient but gradual welcome to a baby into the world,
Also how a diya symbolises a form of light which would be brightening up my world,
      Fantastic tip thank you!

Listen to plenty of soothing music from now on, it’s been suggested that when a Mumma listens to soothing music, the baby will absorb it & it will help in developing an intelligent child.

When are you due? Must be getting close!!! Best advice I can give (after giving birth 3x...preggo with #4) is to have a birth plan, but realize that it may all go out the window! However, don't be too quick to accept unnecessary interventions...pitocin, epidural, artificial rupture of waters, as the more you have, the more likely to end up with a c-section. Stand or move as much as you can...gravity is your friend! Try to stay loose/relaxed during contractions vs tightening up. Warm/hot water, like a shower/tub is excellent for pain relief. Of course, emergencies can happen, but for the most part, do what feels right for you and screw inhibitions! If it feels right to hum, then do it! Squat, dance, circle your hips, laugh, cry...whatever you need to do bc it's your birth experience and it is what you make it! Blessings to you and baby!💕

Most importantly, just make sure “Bhaiyah” (your husband) is very supportive and doing as much as he can for you but since Indian families are traditionally large, everybody is expected to circle the wagons to make sure that it’s as easy for you as possible.

To avoid stretch marks, ensure you don’t itch your skin, it’s gonna be a challenge but try to resist the itching of the stretching skin. Some Ayurvedic oils will assist it soothing the skin. If you’ve got an itch, gently rub it through your clothing but don’t actually itch it.
So it’d be a good idea to start familiarizing the skin of he stomach by massaging Ayurvedic oil or another oil called “Bio-Oil” on the stomach.
