Being a superhero means being a kick-ass fighter, and characters like Deadpool, Batman and Wolverine have to be able to throw it down with the best of them. Who are the best fighters in comic books? Could Spider-Man beat Batman? Who would win in a fight, Captain America vs Wolverine? The list is riddled with problems. Wolverine should not be so high in the list. Deadpool gets a mention over Deathstroke. Laughable. Oh yeah almost forgot: Batman > Daredevil
Wolverine deserved to be that high on the list. He has been able to hold his own against Captain America, Iron Fist, Black Panther, and etc. He beat them all if I'm not mistaken a few times. He has been fighting for YEARS. His prowess in martial arts is well renowned. He is also in the top 5 of best combatants in the Marvel Universe. Hell, I even think he deserved to be 1st on the list...
Wolverine doesn't usually display any techniques in his fights and I don't know if he has any formal training outside his time in the army and in Japan. But hey I could very well be wrong. Also I think Karnak should've made the list.
I don't think Wolverine deserves a place that high. I'm not saying he's not dangerous up close because he ABSOLUTELY is, but it's mostly because of his endurance, healing, and claws. He's still a great fighter but if we take away those other things and just focus on hand to hand I think he'd have trouble keeping his place.
Deathstoke wasn't mentioned because he's not a hero. I know they said anti-heros were considered and Deathstoke is in fact an anti-hero because he's fought for the greater good on multiple occasions. But traditionally he's still more of a villain. I'm sure when they come out with the villain version he'll be high on the list.

He's beaten Green Lantern, Deathstroke, Cat Women, The Joker, Nightwing, Jason Todd, Lex Luther, Solomon Grundy, Bane. Hell he's even beaten the shit out of The Hulk, The Punisher, and Captain America when DC and Marvel had a cross over. All with his hands. Nathan Frazier green kryptonite falls under weapons. And he had a full ass metal suit on. And Hulk beat him too the comic ended 1-1. Batman and Cap were evenly matched fighting in that crossover comic and the only reason Batman won was because his batarang(WEAPON).
Nathan Frazier and he's beaten all those guys with prep time, gadgets, weapons and fighting. Not just hand to hand combat.

For those who are asking "how come is Spider-Man on this list?", here's the fact: Peter Parker started being Spider-Man when he was 15 years old. So, as the story progressed, he gained a lot of experience, and eventually became a master hand-to-hand combatant. Using his superpowers, especially, his agility, his reflexes and his spider-sense, he can rival all types of combatants. On his first years, he didn't receive any formal combat training. He learned to fight on the streets, facing his villains and street thugs, and became very skilled at. For example, he defeated the Fantastic Four single-handedly, the X-Men single-handedly, the Sinister Six single-handedly, etc etc. However, as the years have passed, he received formal training in unarmed combat by Captain America, and after losing his spider-sense for some time, Peter received training from Shang-Chi and together, created a martial art style called "The Way of the Spider". When his spider-sense returned, his fighting style was increased. So, combining his superpowers, his webs, his first years experiences, his mastery of acrobatics, his formal training with Captain America, and his "The Way of the Spider" martial art, Peter Parker for sure is a Master Martial Artist. Also, Iron Fist once stated that Spider-Man is untouchable, thanks to his spider-sense.

1) Spider-Man didn't use anymore the style of combat he develop with the help of Shang-Chi
2) On the official Marvel site, Spider-Man has "only" 4 stars at "fighting skills"
3) Spider-Man is untouchable for most of the non-meta human in hand to hand combat thanks to his superhuman reflexes and his spider-sens (not for his skills)

Rahman Mhate well green arrow has grown into a great hand to hand fighter but he can’t be part of this list unless we use the arrowverse version. Wonder woman is said by batman to be the best melee fighter in the world but that’s more of with weapons than just hand to hand. Red hood is also good but he’s not even the best robin in terms of hand to hand.

Yes. But The Spider Sense trumps DD's sonar in every single way. Sonar can be disrupted while Spider Sense needs a chemical called Ethyl Chloride for it to be blocked.

Batman wasn’t trained By Ra’s Al Ghul in comics. Batman trained martial arts with Chu Chin Li, Henry Ducard, Grand Master ninja Kirigi, Shihan Matsuda, a killer from Yakusa and David Cain, father of Cassandra Cain (second batgirl). In comics Batman met the league of assassins in his second year as Batman if I’m not mistaken. Also in comics Green arrow just trained everywhere and was humiliated by Batman in EVERY SINGLE FIGHT THEY HAD.

Spider-Man is almost worthless with out his powers. Wolverine is too reckless. His body heals itself, so he doesn't bother learning how to defend himself properly. If he didn't have healing powers he wouldn't have survived so long. And no Wonder Woman??? She has more training than everyone on the list. Finally, if Batman and Daredevil were in a fight and neither had weapons, Batman would win.

Not true on the wolvie and spiderman accounts. Peter ended up losing his abilities and learned the way of the spider just in case he ever lost them again he is indeed formidable without them. Also, wolverine mastered almost every known martial art just because he doesn't implement them in his fighting doesn't mean he can't throw down normally when necessary

For everybody thinking Batman should be no1, if he and Daredevil had a hand to hand fight (that being with no weapons or gadgets), Daredevil can actually win. They probably made this list just based on fighting skill alone, and Batman relies on his gadgets to win most of his fights.

bad choice on number one, since he's just above peak human. Thor has fought ice giants for months straight without eat or sleep. Batman would quickly figure out Daredevil lack of sight and enhanced hearing and use it against him and in the comics he's been defeated by a blaring car horn. DD is a pretty cool hero but not in the league of Cap, Wolverine or Panther who can shrug off bullets and take on mobs of attackers. Daeredevil lucky to clear a bar without getting teeth knocked out, stabbed and shot. Wheres is Wonder Woman? She's defeated Greek gods without any of her Amazon powers. I'm glad no Superman he too boring for the list lol

I'm not underestimating Daredevil. I actually like him. He's one of, if not my favorite street based(Marvel Knights) characters. But let's be honest here, none of the fights that were "stalemated" were to the death, because had they been, no matter how much I like daredevil, he's taking an OFFICIAL L! Point blank period.

Yet Daredevil has kicked most of the Marvel Universe''s tokus. Spiderman was taught by Daredevil after losing to him on a few occasions. Popularity doesn't mean anything if one doesn't have the facts on both ends. Either way, subjective topic since everyone has a favorite and Comic storylines change as different writers introduce different aspects of a said character.
Black Panther is much better fighter than Batman and I love Batman. He could go toe to toe with Daredevil in my opinion.

I am confused. Was this supposed to be going by comics or movies? Because if comics, Iron Fist and Elektra should be in top 3. If going by movies, Captain America should have been top 4. They should have been more clear about this.

His speed is superhuman, and his trump card in a straight up clean hand to hand fight is his "spidey sense." If he didn't have the "Spidey Sense" I would agree he would be on this list. If you ever read a "Venom vs. Spider-Man" comic you would see how much of a disadvantage he is without it, first few times he got his ass handed to him because of this. (Venom and most of the "symbiotes" are immune to his spider sense. Like a stealth fighter to radar. At first they didn't register at all. As his senses adapted over time at best they barely registered) Which he can literally see the attack coming before his foe initiates it. The only time he is hit is when he is out stratagized or in a situation where no matter which way he moves he's going to be hit. His only draw back is that his training is sub par. He is the paradigm of the phrase "pure natural fighter." He shouldn't be #1 due to lack of formal training for sure but if you know your COMIC Spider-Man lore his presence is justified where it is. At any rate Any one of his attributes were removed (especially spidey sense) I would agree he should be nowhere near this list, but with all them together there are only a small class of elites that could claim to be better martial fighters.

Hugh Jarsole actually there is and DC has even admitted to it. See the Batman Year One and Dark Knight Returns Complete Edition blu ray documentaries. Both quite flatly admit the connection between Batman and Daredevil and how much of Frank's work ON Daredevil transferred over to his work on Batman. They even use Daredevil comics IN the DKR documentary too for reference.
Also yes they also admitted the Marvel as you know it was a direct and desperate response to the advent of the Justice League in several documentaries too. DC's Jack Liebowitz and at the time Marvel publisher Martin Goodman were playing Golf and Jack boasted about the Justice League. Martin comes in and begs Stan Lee to pen him something that can match the JLA. Stan, ready to quit at that point, said only if it was on his terms, and created the Fantastic Four. Marvel up until that point were doing no superheroes at all, not even Cap, who died in the early 50s, and the modern Marvel Universe spawned from the FF, which spawned from the JLA.

Karate Kid was the one i was looking for, superman and batman akwnoledge him to be the best martial artist even above batman, but if you put gamora and mantis because they hurt gods like power, batman hurt Darkseid, and one time kill him, and fight against superman more than 5 times and a couple win, so that is for another top
Martin Camilo Cancelado Ruiz Here's the thing Gamora and Mantis actually used martial arts to hurt them, while Batman used a alien gun to beat Darkseid, armor, and kryptonite to beat Superman, long story short Batman can't beat Gods with martial arts unlike Gamora and Mantis.
Now that I think about it Shang Chi should replace Batman.

Batman should be #1 imo. DD is a pretty badass fighter in his own right and is definitely one of the best from Marvel (possibly the best),but he's never fought someone like Batman who knows every martial art known to man and has MASTERED 127. Plus he's physically superior as he has conditioned himself to the peak of human physicality. But anyways here's my list. After Batman at #1 there's no particular order:

This is just my opinion. It's really hard to say who's a better fighter than who.

Aaron Burr Black Canary in the comics is expert at Aikido, Capoeira, Dragon-Style Kung fu, Hapkido, Judo, Ju Jutsu, Krav Maga, Muay Thai, Savate, Tae Kwon Do, Wing Cuun, pressure point fighting and Amazonian fighting. She was being trained by Lady Shiva, Cassandra Cain, Richard Dragon, Wildcat and many others. She has a scream that makes even Superman's ears bleed and knows a technique that can make your heart explode within hours. Defeated Lady Shiva's mentor, defeated one of the Silk brothers (who were stated being on the same level as Lady Shiva) and was being stated by Oracle, who saw both Batman and Black Canary fight for years, that she can beat Batman. Black Canary is too underrated. She is a great character.
They don't actually do there homework anymore. Otherwise they would know that Black Canary is one of DC's most brilliant martial artists.
Captain America #6? He has trained half the Marvel Universe. I would put a lot more feats, but I was limited to 'Fighting Ability'.

Hey guys! If you're arguing and disagreeing about Daredevil being on no. 1 in the list then just do one thing. Close your eyes and try to just walk to another room from yours. You will surely understand what it takes to know so many martial arts and apply them gracefully for a blind man who swears to make a difference without any super powers, or serum or lots of money. I'm also a Batman Fan but I truly respect Daredevil for his hard work and passion for learning. It is really merely impossible for a blind guy to do a job in day and protect the city at night. The character really inspires me a lot and will do the same in future.
