*Thanks for the review, just saw the price on GSM arena, great price to performance, I also like the looks of the phone.* *Shame about the camera but expected with the Under screen camera & being gaming oriented they will never be fully optimised*
I just read GSMarena's review and they were very negative for what is an amazing value phone. They didn't pay much attention to the improved display, their benchmarks didn't happen properly as their benchmarks are the exact opposite of what im seeing youtubers get. The only thing that seems like a deal breaker for me is the unavailability of High refresh rate gaming, or so GSM says and u said you couldn't get 90 fps in PUBG. I mean what's the point of a gaming phone then if HRR gaming ain't possible yk. The Iqoo 12 captured my heart and is still a top grade phone for not flagship price. The Redmagic 9 Pro getting hot is also kind of a bummer, but at least it isn't throttling like the Iqoo 12, tbh idk which I'd prefer, throttling with cooler temps or no throttling with hotter temps but I'd say giving the option for both would be in the best interests of everyone.
Not sure they must have had different firmware, I had a final firmware only recently but had this phone for a month now. I guess they never waited for the fixes. But I don't check other reviews as to not have them influence my own. The IQOO 12 is one of my favorite value flagships, if they can fix the front cam no EIS and lessen that throttling it would be a winner. It still is in its current state.
@@Techtablets will the difference of frames be very noticeable between iqoo 12 vs rm9? is rm9 much fluid than iqoo12? these are my two choices atm. will be playin genshin at max settings btw. ive watched both of your reviews to these devices. throttling on iqoo12 is a dealbreaker for me.
this is the first year ive been thinking of changing from asus to redmagic, just because of the way they swap from gaming oriented desingn into normal phone one... going back to camera cut in the middle is so bad + lower battery capacity.
Not bad if one can get this at $649. Prices higher than this, it will face a Xiaomi which also has good cooling that only throttles a bit but all the goodness of a flagship phone.
Very good for the price if you don't need the best cameras. Another good option for very good cameras is the IQOO 12 I reviewed. Not so good at gaming as it throttles badly but very good rear cameras.

i dont understand why they can't make their cameras better?
Which better fastest chip Sd 8 gen 3 vs Dimensity 9300?
I got Snow fall 🔥
Is T-Mobile compatible?
*Thanks for the review, just saw the price on GSM arena, great price to performance, I also like the looks of the phone.*
*Shame about the camera but expected with the Under screen camera & being gaming oriented they will never be fully optimised*
It was to be expected the UDC cameras are always like that and yes their focus is on the gaming performance not so much the cameras.
@@Techtablets Vivo's on a roll from last year, making absolute bangers. Waiting for your X100 Pro review!
Also iqoo has a good camera
@@Techtablets will the difference of frames be very noticeable between iqoo 12 vs rm9? is rm9 much fluid than iqoo12?
these are my two choices atm. will be playin genshin at max settings btw. ive watched both of your reviews to these devices. throttling on iqoo12 is a dealbreaker for me.
Big oversight not having MicroSD, dampens the whole thing.
Maybe for you but I would get one with bigger storage.
type c pendrive does the same thing for me.
@@rhouknee Of course but the cost increase is a bit insane.120 for a 1TB card but imagine getting that internally.
@@fjordtrout are they any super small ones reaching 512GB at least?
@@FireTehmk you can get one for 50usd for a sandisk 512gb type c pendrive
this is the first year ive been thinking of changing from asus to redmagic, just because of the way they swap from gaming oriented desingn into normal phone one... going back to camera cut in the middle is so bad + lower battery capacity.
Can you download Left to Survive game and make video to see if and how triggers will work
what about updates?
2 major updates and 3 years I think it is.
this phone actualy the best on the market
Not bad if one can get this at $649. Prices higher than this, it will face a Xiaomi which also has good cooling that only throttles a bit but all the goodness of a flagship phone.
Very good for the price if you don't need the best cameras. Another good option for very good cameras is the IQOO 12 I reviewed. Not so good at gaming as it throttles badly but very good rear cameras.
@@Techtablets Right. If I remember your review correctly, the IQOO 12 throttles down to around 55% perf on 3dmark. If i remember your Xiaomi 14 Pro review, it only throttles down to around 85%.
This is the only phone that has caught my eye in the past couple years.
I have no interest in the gaming modes or whatever.
I just like flagship specs, convenient features like headphone jack,
AND NO CAMERA CUTOUT
I have not taken a selfie in living memory and i'm pretty sure most people I know haven't either.
Wanted the 24 ultra but now i'm waiting for this one at half the price of 24Ultra ... it's a win win
Why 80w charging? My red magic 7 has 165W charging
I'm gonna wait till they release an alternate version.
As always.. Cool review..😊
Opted for the 12 256 model as it was alot cheaper, I hope 256 is enough for me. Wish theyd put a sd card in 😢
Honestly 256 g seems fine my biggest game on my red magic 3s is Genshin impact which is like 35 gigs phones games aren’t all that big but it depends on how many games you play
At this point, this is just the ultimate content consumption phone.
I love it ❤ red magic
A very underrated brand for Android phone.
Weird GsMarena tests show excellent battery results.
I guess we have all different ways of testing and it will depend on what firmware they used?
Liked the video when i saw PUBG on the home screen😅 ...much respect..!!
I want to see Redmagic release this phone with a dimensity 9300 to compare performance to snapdragon variant
Yes! It would be very interesting to see that 9300 fan cooled.
battery test if we are not gaming with latest snapdragon 3 how does it perform
In translation nicely said amigo
Nubia Z60 ultra will be available after 22 hours according to the counter and it will be a better phone in camera department.
Unfortunately they will not be sending me that phone. First they said they would and now no.
@@Techtablets Z60 U will throttle a lot for sure and "they" don't want you to reveal that. It is not something specific to the Nubia. Just 8gen3 is very powerful and that comes with a price.
Bonjour es-ce que ce téléphone fonctionne en France s'il vous plaît ?
I've just gotten my Chinese 9 pro. It has L1 widevine but Netflix detects it as L3 :(
Prime video works in full HD.
I hope the phone works with Verizon network
Did it work
if it had lineage support for the next couple of years i would get it. Just as a regular phone, it would last 2 days and is amazing for video consumption
Yeah only 1 year of support should be illegal. No unlocked bootloader is just disappointing.
Nice 🙂
Thanks 😋
Hoping they make it rootable 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Nope probably not, hasn't been possible for years on nubia phones.
They could completely get rid of the cameras and the speakers in exchange for display and cooling improvements!
Should test the phone using graph line fps vs time and also power consumption like Taiwanese phone tech influencer.
I order the Red magic pro cyclone edition. I cant wait.
crazy gpu of sd 8 gen 3, almost a milion points. 🤯
Sure is and being fan actively cooled here it holds that performance unlike the passively cooled 8Gen3 phones I've tested all throttle quite a bit.
