Thank you. Yes we spent a lot of time up there on all that; it was very time consuming.

So how much work and $ did it take to fix the instrument panel? When I was considering that boat someone had jerry rigged a computer screen with cameras in the engine room to monitor the engines. I assumed the original panel didn't work.

It was indeed time consuming, but my wife and I are quite good at this type of work so that essentially removed the labor cost component for us. You are correct; there was a Visio monitor set on top of the analog dash, no tachs, and several instruments missing or not working. Once the monitor was removed and the wiring faults corrected, we discovered many of the instruments still worked. We had to build an entirely new ground bridge for all the instruments, and run many new wires for gauges that were oddly just missing. It took us weeks to fix it all, and probably a couple thousand bucks in new parts / wiring. We also fabricated some missing pieces. Thanks for checking it out!

Hello there! Based on what we have seen and experienced on our vessel and others, I think I prefer the laid back, with a lip or awning above to shade the sun. In rough seas it seems like that generates overall less pressure on the windowpane - the sounds is more of a splash. When the windows lean forward, I have noted more of a hard slap on the window, perhaps due to the water being forced to reverse direction. In another way, a blast of sea water is able to make a slight turn and spill off a window leaning back. I hope that is what you were after. Many leaning forward designs have smaller overall windowpane size and it may be for that reason. Cheers.

We took pictures of some wiring harnesses and key areas but did not anticipate doing a whole transformation video. You can see how rough it was and the odd monitor over the missing analog instruments in the episode S1-E3: Florida to Texas Cruise if you happen to be looking for it. There seem to always be things we wished we had more footage for. Thank you for watching!
