- Lata Mangeshkar started her career in 1943 at the age of 13 with the song "Naachu ya gade, khelu saari, mani haus bhaari" for Marathi film "Kiti Hasaal". She ventured into Hindi cinema with the song "Paa laagu kar jori re" for Vasant Joglekar's movie "Aap Ki Seva Mein". She got her first major break in 1948 with the song "Dil mera toda" in the film "Majboor". With "Aayega aanewaala", a song in the movie "Mahal", she registered one of her first musical hits.

We all cannot forget Lathaji.her songs will be playing in some house or shop or in a pandal every day. She and Rafi Sahib are eternal.but there is one thing I want to say.Lathaji left so much of money..Her family should not forget the person who was responsible fo making her what she was.Master Vinay. Who gave her her first break.Her family should give Master Vinays family a little of her money as a token of thanks.
I understand most songs of Gulzar have been sung by Asha due to her relationship with RD. But comparing Lata and Asha as equal is totally out of place.

कला गायन की कंठ पर निर्भर हैं जैसे धड़कन हृदय पर । ब्रेंन डैंथ होने पर कौमा में जाने पर भी हृदय धड़कता हैं सांसें चलती हैं । सांसों को कब रोकना हैं कब लेना हैं गायन प्रतिभा में आठ चांद लगाता हैं । आप को अगर सांस लेनी हैं जल्दी तो लम्बा आलाप आप नहीं ले सकते । क्लासिकल संगीत में रे ग म प नी रे ग की आवृत्ति बार बार लेनी हैं सांस भी लेनी हैं । गला तो सभी का खराब होता हैं आईसक्रीम खाने से सर्दी लग जाने पर गला बैठ जाने पर सब कहते हैं आवाज बैठ गई हैं । सुरीली आवाज़ और कर्कश आवाज के फर्क को सुनने वाले तुरंत बता देते हैं। पतली आवाज़ मोटी भारी आवाज का अंतर लड़की की आवाज़ और लड़के की आवाज़ का अंतर पबरर्टी से पहले देखने में नहीं नजर आता। दो बहनों की आवाज़ जैंनिटीकली सिमीलर होनी चाहिए जैसे मेरी मांसी और मां की आवाज़ हैं। पिता की आवाज़ बेटों से मेल खाती हैं । कभी कभी किसी लड़के की आवाज़ लड़की समान होती हैं वह जैनिटीक एक्सैपशन होता हैं जो होलोएंड्रीक जीन नहीं होता। नर कोयल की आवाज़ सुरीली होती हैं मादा कोयल की नहीं । वहीं खुदा ने कौवे को कर्कश आवाज प्रदान की हैं। बिल्लियों की आवाज़, भैंसों की आवाज़ किसी भी देश के हो एक समान होती हैं कितना भी रियाज़ करें चेंज नहीं होगी । मोगली और जीम कार्बेट साहब पशुओं पक्षीयों की बोली से पहचान लेते थे। गा रही तराना बुलबुल और बुलबुले हिंद सरोजनी नायडू । नूक्स निकालना भी आसान हैं तुम्हें गाना पसंद न आए तो बोलो कवीता पाठ लग रहा हैं गाना नहीं। लताजी ने पांच बरस की उम्र में समझ डैवलप कर ली कि पिताजी दीनानाथ मंगेशकर कैसे आलाप लेते हैं और सिखाने लगी ऐसे नहीं पिताजी ऐसे गाते हैं। फिर पचहत्तर अस्सी साल तक गायन। हम नये खिलाड़ी सचिन को देखते हैं जब वह पहली बार हिंदुस्तान के लिए खेलते हैं परंतु उनकी बचपन की तस्वीर नहीं देखते जिसमें वह कितने छोटे हैं और बल्ला पकड़ा हुआ है। मेरा गोरा अंग लैय्लै और तुझे देखा तो ये जाना सनम के फर्क को वायस एक्सपर्ट ही बता सकता हैं । मेरे ख्वाबों में जो आए ...। मन क्यों बहका आधी रात को में लताजी का कौन सा और आशाजी का कौन सा शायद सत्तर प्रतिशत को पता भी न हो । आम आदमी में गायन पसंद इमोशन के हिसाब से होती हैं। मिनींगलैस गाना चाहे लताजी ही गाए हीट नहीं होता । अगर मैं ईटैलियन गाना सूनू कोरियन सूनू चाईनीज सूनी मुझे मिनींग न पता हो भले ही कितनी देशभक्ति की गूढ़ बात हो मुझे रोना नहीं आयेगा। तेरे बीना जिंदगी से शिकवा तो हैं मुझे परंतु गाना उल्टा लिखा हैं परंतु पब्लिक समझती हैं । चांद दिन में नहीं निकलता रात को आना ।। कहां आ पाऊंगी मैं । चांद तो रोज़ निकलता हैं परंतु बीच में अमावस आ जाती हैं इस बार अमावस बहुत लम्बी थी । चांद भी रोशनी देता हैं और सूरज़ भी परंतु पब्लिक को लगता हैं अंधेरा चांद की रोशनी ही दूर करती हैं। वाह गुलज़ार साहब वाह क्या बात हैं आपकी लेखनी की भूखें बच्चों की तस्सली के लिए मां ने फिर पानी पकाया देर तक .....
