Well Mark, my man, I have to say, I'm quite impressed by that Rally-spec TT-02 of yours. 8.63 seconds is a VERY impressive time on that course! Well done, sir. You guys earned that win! - But how about the fact that we both hit a 9.10??? That's insane! I had to go back and double-check my time and sure enough pal, bang-on! Unreal, isn't it? This competition is a blast, and although team Kyosho is down on the scorecard, team Tamiya isn't out of the woods just yet! Enjoy your victory, my friend. Team Kyosho is coming back with a vengeance! 😎😎😎
I think I am going to try that challenge to see what the outcome will be, who knows what could happen. Slow is definitely faster interesting end. As the rabbit and the tortoise proved long, long time ago.
Well Fil, as I said in the video, the TT02 may be the underdog but it is actually a decent handling chassis after only a few tweaks. Both hitting exactly 9.10 is amazing for sure, just shows how closely matched we are! I think using the video timestamps is definitely the most accurate way we could measure this so it must be right that we tied on those runs! I'm really enjoying this shootout too, pal, lets get our heads together and come up with the next challenge. Victory totally enjoyed here, but I know your day will come! Let's do it!!!! 🍻😎👊👍
Glad you think so Del! It sure is a blast to compete with Fil 5000 miles apart! TBH we don't care who wins either, it's just for the fun of it! Cheers! 🍻😎👍
Nothing like a little friendly competition and banter! This was close, but there is no denying the fastest time of that Tamiya! Great run to both of you guys Mark!
Couldn't agree more Robby! We are really doing this for the show and to have fun of course. But yes, I did thrash Fil this time out! 😅 Many thanks for watching, brother! 😎👊👍
Well, after chatting with some other RC rally folks, I hear the Kyosho stock rally tires aren't so good for off-road compared to the traditional rally block tires that come with Tamiya kits. They do have insane grip on wet conditions though. I've actually got a set coming today that are really close to the pattern, but the cleats are more spread out, so hopefully gives a better dig in the sand and gravel I run in. The stock Kyosho tires are more of an all terrain in my opinion, and the tread looks really close to those fancy expensive Jetko Couragia tires. All the best to you both, and it's great to see some rally action! 🚗💨🏁
That's very interesting, thanks! I find the Tamiya rally blocks to be inconsistent when it comes to grip. My backup chassis had so much less rear grip than the first chassis. But the backup had older rubber which may explain it. Thanks for the good wishes, same to you my friend! 😎👍
Thanks! Yeah I wanted to agree that it was a draw after Fil was so gracious to call the speed test a draw. But we decided half a second was quite significant when the total run times were only 8 or 9 seconds! Cheers 😎 👍 🍻
Thanks matey! Oh yes you can't get much closer than that, this shootout is proving to be more of a level playing field than many expected! Thanks for the thumbs up on the edit pal, I did put a lot of work into it. Cheers brother! 🍻😎👍
Amazing! What a run! "Disclaimer-No plushie animals were harmed...uh, well, maybe one..." I am still tuning my Mark Bryan Special TT-o2 . Playing with adding weight in front and rear to create biases to see how it handles. Great vid mate! Cheers!
Thanks dude! Haha yeah I did run over "Angry Ken" the Koala! 🤣but he made a full recovery! Cool that you are one of the few people that mentioned the furry critters, proves most folk just fast forward through this type of video! Have fun tuning that TT02, I'm sure you'll get it handling nicely. Cheers! 🍻😎👍
Hiya mate. Hey this across the pond colab is rather cool isn't it? Surprising how close the times were in the end given all the variables in play. I like the way you had a spare TT-02 on hand to carry on the challenge. Did the first one have a servo saver fitted or a solid arm? Anyway it looks like a new servo is required. I think Fil had a better bit of tarmac over there so I'd add a couple of seconds for that! Good stuff and happy Friday to you and yours 😁👍👍
Hi there Pete. Yeah we're having a blast with this shootout malarkey! I couldn't believe that I was a little faster than Fil on that last run (and it really was the last run I filmed!) but I thing Fil could have matched it if he tried all day long! Yeah the first car had an alloy servo horn, I think it trashed the servo on that speed run tumble. The "spare" chassis might have been a little editing magic (I did discuss it with fil!) 🤣🤣 I agree mate, Fil's car park was cleaner than mine! All the best mate! 😎👊👍
Great run Mark and I know that was not easy to do. Cones are natural magnets for RCs so avoiding them successfully is a really difficult challenge! I know every time I put some out the first thing that happens is I hit all of them! I did like the animal course as well! That made me laugh! great job and congrats on the win!
Thanks Addam, definitely not as easy as it looks, as you can see by my bloopers at the start! 🤣 It sure does take a little practice to get your hands and eyes in! Glad you noticed the furry critters, I think many fast forwarded to the end run! Good to know it raised a smile so thanks for that! Who would have thought the Tamiya would come out on top?!?!?! Cheers my friend! 🍻😎👍
Superb Mark!!! Only true RC junkies have an identical 'back up' car!!!! 😂 I think that Robonthecamera had the easiest job there to be honest..... You navigated your way around those cones (and animals!) like a pro dude, credit where it's due, some awesome driving!!! I'm actually quite surprised that the mighty Fazer is having its butt whipped by a TTO2!!! Loving this series mate, absolute class entertainment Sir! 🙏 👍 👍 👍
Many thanks James! Haha, that backup car! Some chat's with Fil and a bit of artistic editing mate! 🤣 All agreed and above board! Yeah Rob just had to stand and point but he did have a go with his Buggyra Fat Fox as you will soon see... Apart from the numerous wipeouts I did manage to get my eye in eventually and racked up several clean runs, harder than it looks as you say! TT02 leads for now but that may change. Glad you're enjoying it my good mate! 🤗👊👍
Hey there Cat, hope you're doing OK?!?! Haha, glad you had a giggle, I did try to keep a bit of tomfoolery in the mix to stop it feeling too serious! At the end of the day it's just a bit of fun. Thanks for always being here mate! 🙌🏼👊👍
Very cool Mark. 8.36 is awesome. If it wan't so hard two build up the same courses, I really like to see these both cars in a championship ralöye run (like they do thus in eastern Europe)😉
Couldn't agree more, that would be awesome Dirk! But yes, it is difficult to arrange a competition 5000 miles apart! 😅 Glad you enjoyed it my friend - cheers! 🍻😎👍
Glad you enjoyed it Dom 😊 yeah we always try and add a bit of humour to our videos. Funny though but hardly any one else has commented about the furry critters! 😅 All the best my mate 👍
An excellent comp Mark. No disrespect to Fil or Kyosho ( both a great channel & manufacturer ) but as I have an affection for Tamiya, I'm glad the TT-02 won. For a more complete picture it's just a shame you couldn't swap cars for the slalom run. But hey-ho, great stuff nonetheless.
Well said mate! But he and his Kyosho did deserve a right spanking after he kept telling me I was going down!!! 😅🤣Oh man how I'd love to be able to visit beautiful Vancouver Island and swap cars with Fil! I'll have to make do with Birmingham, UK! 🤣 Cheers buddy! 🍻😎👍
There's just something about Tamiya's, I am drawn to them every time I'm in the hobby shops. You have a very nice car in your hands sir, but in performance I woud have to give the Kyosho 1 point above the Tt02. 😢 Very cool video, makes me smile when I see you having fun.
Same here pal, there is just something about a Tamiya! This modified TT02 is a great car and on this occasion did outperform the Kyosho. Not sure it will stay that way though! 😅 Glad to be able to raise a smile. Thanks for watching and the cool comment! 😎👊👍
G'day me Mukka🤠🙋♀️. That was some bloody nice driving mate!👌, no furry things we're seriously killed in the making of this video😂. That is really impressive performance from the budget Tamiya, great value and quality🏆. Great comparison in the end Cobber, we're impressed. We hope you're having a top weekend mate, Sheila says hi🙋♀️🦘🇦🇺
G'day to you too, Cobber! I had to try my best out there mate 'cos that Fil has some driving skills too! It's harder than it looks! Haha yeah only Angry Ken was run over but he only had a little gravel rash! 🤣 I was surprised by the win mate, but the little Tamiya is punching above its weight for sure! Thanks as always for the kind wishes, a bit crap here at the moment but things are looking up now. Take care my good friend and send my love to Sheila - cheers! 🍻😎👍
Hi Mark maybe another challenge for you tt02 vs tt02 but with different tyres on and on tarmac maybe try sport vs torque tuned in time trials I'm sorry if you've already done it love your videos along with poor boy rc videos absolutely brilliant friendly banter and great fun👍🙌👍🙌
Hi and thanks for the great suggestion! I haven't tried different motors in a time trial so I'll look at that later on. Glad you are loving the videos, that's music to my ears, and Fil's! All the best! 🤗👊👍
Rock on! Thanks a ton my mate James! I must admit I was very surprised to come out with the win!!! It was a blast organising this fun little challenge with Fil, more to come! A smashing weekend to you and Shelly too! Cheers 😎 👍 🍻
Hi there pal, yeah the Subie is a cool looking little car. I think I also tried the slow approach and went faster. Challenge accepted, gravel or dirt coming up! Cheers! 🍻😎👍

I think the Subaru is better...... LOL 😂
I think I am going to try that challenge to see what the outcome will be, who knows what could happen. Slow is definitely faster interesting end. As the rabbit and the tortoise proved long, long time ago.
🤣😅👍

Yesssssss!!!! TEAM TAMIYA!!!!!!
Oohyeah my friend, we'll take this victory for team Tamiya!!! 🥳💥👌👍
What a brilliant series! And I'm not a committed Tamiya fanboy - I'd have been just as happy if the Kyosho had won.
Great fun!
Glad you think so Del! It sure is a blast to compete with Fil 5000 miles apart! TBH we don't care who wins either, it's just for the fun of it! Cheers! 🍻😎👍

Love this series and Go Tamiya!
Great to know you enjoyed it my friend! Hope you have a great weekend 😀
Brilliant fun Mark, great narration too. Really interesting stuff.
Glad you enjoyed it my friend 😊 and thanks for noticing the narrative, it takes quite some effort as you know! Cheers 😎 👍 🍻
Hi Mark great video the result was never in doubt the TT-02 chassis is the best
Thanks a ton, Glyn! At least we got this one in the bag, yes the TT02 is a brilliant chassis! Cheers!👍

I have three sets of Rally blocks, one set that are on one car have worn much quicker than the other, must be a different compound.😢😢
@@allanritchie1539 There's that, too. Different compounds and the trade offs!
That's very interesting, thanks! I find the Tamiya rally blocks to be inconsistent when it comes to grip. My backup chassis had so much less rear grip than the first chassis. But the backup had older rubber which may explain it. Thanks for the good wishes, same to you my friend! 😎👍
@@MarkBryanRC Yessir, I just uploaded a test run after the new wheels and tune. She handles great now!
A "gentleman's agreement" to call it a draw! Brilliant fun indeed!
Thanks! Yeah I wanted to agree that it was a draw after Fil was so gracious to call the speed test a draw. But we decided half a second was quite significant when the total run times were only 8 or 9 seconds! Cheers 😎 👍 🍻
Brilliant work Mark! How close is that matey and what a run (watch your feet pal!!) Great edit at the end of the video pal. 😎 This series is amazing
Thanks matey! Oh yes you can't get much closer than that, this shootout is proving to be more of a level playing field than many expected! Thanks for the thumbs up on the edit pal, I did put a lot of work into it. Cheers brother! 🍻😎👍
Great video Mark looking forward to the next one 👍.
Many thanks Jay, so am I, this series is a lot of fun to make! Cheers 😎 👍 🍻
Yeah, Mark, this was great! I need to hurry over and watch Fil's video, so this will be a short one for now. Have a great weekend there, buddy!
Cheers my friend Mads! It was really interesting and fun doing these "tandem" videos with Fil. Thanks as always! You too, have a good one! 😎👊👍
Very fun video ! A close call with these two awesome rally cars! But i can never leave my beloved Kyoshos :)
Thanks Taran! Couldn't agree more, it was a close call indeed! I don't blame you about your beloved Kyosho's, they are fantastic RC's! Cheers! 🍻😎👍
Awesome video! I enjoyed watching so much!
Great to hear! Thank you very much! 😎🙏👍

Always good to have a spare TT-02 in hand!! Yours was well spec'ed... and did well. Yes, there's variables... but Tamiya WON! 🏆
Totally agree Carmine, but there may have been a little creative editing going on with the backup car! 🤣

I am hosting a race this coming weekend with a whole bunch of Kyosho and Tamiya, I am going to try this challenge.
Excellent! It will be interesting to see how your times compare with ours! It's harder than it looks though pal!
Love the vid my friend and of course tamiya rule!!!!

good video, surprised at how evenly matched, figured the Kyosho would of beat the Tamiya
Thanks very much 😀 👍 yeah I agree as I did think the Kyosho would be king on this challenge but was pleasantly surprised! All the best 👍 👌
Well done 😊 That Sub looks good. Wonder if the slow approach would have made a better time. Maybe we'll see on "dirt" 😅
Hi there pal, yeah the Subie is a cool looking little car. I think I also tried the slow approach and went faster. Challenge accepted, gravel or dirt coming up! Cheers! 🍻😎👍

Is the MKII Fazer modified?
Hi Chris - no the Fazer is stock! 😎👍
Why would you wear a Schumacher t shirt on a Tamiya video 😮DOH 😊 niiiiiiiiiiice video guys 😅
Haha 😄 I know Mikey, but I don't have a Tamiya T-shirt 🤣 I'm glad you enjoyed the show mate! Cheers 😎 👍 🍻
The better car wins 😁 and is it just me or did Fils best run end with a bit of cone clipping ? 5 second penalty that 👍
Haha! Yes I think you are right mate, that cheeky cone clip must be worth a penalty! 🤣 Cheers Richard! 🍻😎👍
