TV personality Pio Terei was one of many celebrating the re-opening of Te Tii Marae today. He told Andrew Urquhart that while Waitangi commemorations are an opportunity to champion and celebrate fair change, there is a need for more qualified voices to enter the discussion.

One thing that is always overlooked is that the Treaty was forged upon the Anthropic Principle. The absolute moral categories of the Bible that represents the Method of Antithesis in human reason process whereby intellectual certainty is guaranteed. That's why it once lived in the court and the churches. Neither partner has made reference to the Bible in almost 185 years, with the exception of David Lange who mentioned this in a 1980 speech on TVNZ. As a Christian I understand that God has authored history into eternity already. Furthermore the Treaty ignored the peoples that watched the 13th Century people and the 18th Century arrive on the coast. The Ruatipua line on the Central Plateau pre-dates these people by millennia. However since 1840 they have been trying to erase this history. So the Treaty was designed to create a never ending conflict using words and terms. So goes out current Postmodern Post-Christian day. The Hairy man in Ka Mate. He is from the Ruatipua line and is the Symbol of Peace between the old and the new. They can't erase this story. They just haven't told it. Te Wharerangi the Hairy man saves the life of his enemy Te Rauparaha only to be killed for doing it by those who sought to kill Te Rauparaha who is a 13th Century migrant descendant. Te Wharerangi took the high moral ground prior to the Bible arriving on Okahukura. Amazing that Pakeha and Maori took Ka Mate to the world over a Century ago. Maori and Pakeha chose to lay down their rakau to forge the greatest sporting legacy the world shall ever know. We're not at war. Europe is at war with us. God defend New Zealand 🇳🇿🙏🏾💪🏾
