Its why even in previous WTC final also we went with 2 spinners ,jadu and ashwin on a seamer friendly track and now again ashwin got left out as we lacked wicket taker in middle overs.
I'm pretty sure that they didn't include ashwin due to the fact that this was a seamer friendly track, and they put in jaddu because of his batting capability.. but ashwin would have probably been a better choice because of his decent batting ability and much better ability to get middle over wickets. shitty selection

West Indies have o lots of 'licks' to get in the years to come. I am watching the under 19 players tournament and sadly there are not many players to choose from.
This is what I like seeing. Teams like India, Australia and England, the big 3 in test cricket if you like, playing the other countries in their own country. This is what I like seeing. Teams like India, Australia and England, the big 3 in test cricket if you like, playing the other countries in their own country. Unfortunately I will say that if he was 5 stone lighter then I'd imagine he would have been a permanent fixture in the Windies side due to the skill he has and probably should have been. But weight should not exclude you from playing international sports if you are skillful enough to do so

I also didn't know he had a condition but regardless, the fact remains that his weight will always be an impediment to his selection and ability to have a long career. It's unfortunate but it is what it is. So I'm not disagreeing with you.

Due to conditions and a little green pitch, India decided to go with 4 pace bowlers while jadeja is selected over ashwin due his batting record. For me if india going for 4 pace bowlers again, I'll choose ashwin over jadeja however ashwin should have played wtc final and drop maybe umesh Yadav and ashwin is number 1 rank bowler

West Indies glory days will never return. During the 70-80-90s the stadiums were packed and fans climed electric poles and tree branches. We can use the phrase 'two men and a goat' now. Even if they gave free tickets, the stadium would still be empty.
They don’t have the quilty bowlers anymore not like Ambrose and walse and more don’t have the kind of determination which their team used to have that aggression they are playing and earning money by playing leagues now
WI need talents like Starc, Archer, Rabada etc… on their team, that aggressiveness in the bowling attack reminiscent of their team in the 80s. They’ll never be at the top without that
The reality is WI is in proximity of USA where American football, soccer, basketball and baseball provide 100x times more value/$$$. The Dominicans, Cubans, Venezuelans, central america, Mexicans get huge salary and also citizenship opportunities in the US.
