They have several albums of original music. Hard to Handle is the only cover off the top of my head on an album. The Crowes wrote lots of good stuff "Remedy," "Jealous Again," "High Head Blues," "She Talks to Angels," "Conspiracy," "Wiser Time," "Soul Singing," "By Your Side," "Blackberry," and on and on...The Crowes are awesome! One of my favorite rock bands
Dylans original version is on his "Blonde on Blonde" album from 1966. It opens the record. Great vid. Love the Black Crowes. They play in Knoxville, TN at the Tenn. Theater about once a year....amazing venue...beautiful.
More like "Everybody Must Get Baked". Pantera, Metallica, and AC/DC straight up scorched the place with blazing hot metal, but the Crowes is the literal SMOKE that made this concert lit and high AF!!!
Well, actually according to Wikipedia they were there in 91 with Pantera, Metallica and AC/DC. The Monsters of Rock band list was different for each country... Jeff was replaced after this show and before the Southern Harmony(...) recordings. This live version of Rainy Day Women is featured in some localized versions of Southern Harmony and Musical Companion (at least my brazilian one has it).
PS: This is happening right after riots broke out between the military/police and the gathered crowd, amazing they turned the entire atmosphere around right there. Epic video :)
Yep so.. tomorrow night Ill be watching and listen this song (rainy day women #12 & 35) with the great Bob at Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City. VIVA DYLAN!!!
@PageandPlant4Life Absolutely! I was also thrilled when I saw it! Got it on some other parts of the concert ... but you have to watch the whole, because I do not know exactly where they are displayed.
fantastic video, total joyful mess. In the Metallica video for Harvester of Sorrow, the same place looked like a warzone. This is so much nicer to watch. Great song by the way
Great upload...added to my playlist. For those who've never heard the original by Bob Dylan ("Rainy Day Women")...that is definitely worth a listen as well. Nice when a great classic rock song gets revisited. LOVE IT!!! LOVE 'EM BOTH!!!
Well, you did say "correct me if I'm wrong", so yeah: you're wrong, the song is actually called "Rainy Day Women #12 & 35"... this ain't half bad a cover, though... The Crowes are clearly going on the premise that it's a stoner song, Bawb has always denied it was... but even if that were true (really, Bawb?) then that's still what it has become: an awesome Stoner Song... Everybody Must Get Stoned, y'all! I tried it, ain't no thang :-)
I don't know if it's the only other song they played that day but they definitely played Stare It Cold if that's of any help. If you go to Crowesbase (google it) you'll be able to find the setlist.
I wouldn't go as far as every, but there are a handful of songs that I prefer to his version. He has even said, he never cared about the singing, he just wanted to tell a story. Although, no one can ever top hurricane or subterranean homesick blues, at least in my mind.
yes it is Rainy day women # 12 & 35, but I thought it was "everyone must get stoned" the first couple times I heard it, until I was told the name of it. No worries :)
this is a bit too slow ,the best version is the low-fi one on the CD single . However any Crowes video is better than nothing and their version is the best arrangement I've heard of this Dylan Number . A great band better than all the others who play everything the same all the time , they're that sort of band like the Stones , The Faces etc who can be a bit? loose .
i remember this from a dvd it was monsters of rock when they were playing in moscow cos i remember part of this because before they went on stage they almost shut the gig down because the moscow melitia troops were seriously beatin the crap out of anyone they could reach if they had canceled that gig all hell would have broken loose
Six or seven real albums, plus B-sides, a few side projects (Sweet Pickle Salad, Cry Of Love, Foamfoot). I think their first two albums went platinum. Their singles (except Hard to Handle) were all original They DO play a lot of covers though. They usually play a couple every show and mostly use them for extended jams. One of the reasons they cover so many songs is you can go to several shows and hear a completely different set of covers and original songs, which don't all fit in one set
i hav the cd of this concert its great!!! but now its beated up and it skips sometimes.... the number of spectators is around 1 million n considered this biggest monsters of rock concert ever....
Well, they'll stone you when you're trying to be so good They'll stone you just like they said they would They'll stone you when you're trying to go home And they'll stone you when you're there all alone But I would not feel so all alone Everybody must get stoned Well, they'll stone you when you're walking on the street They'll stone you when you're tryin' to keep your seat They'll stone you when you're walkin' on the floor They'll stone you when you're walkin' to the door But I would not feel so all alone Everybody must get stoned They'll stone you when you're at the breakfast table They'll stone you when you are young and able They'll stone you when you're tryin' to make a buck Then they'll stone you and then they'll say "good luck" Tell ya what, I would not feel so all alone Everybody must get stoned Well, they'll stone you and say that it's the end Then they'll stone you and then they'll come back again They'll stone you when you're riding in your car They'll stone you when you're playing your guitar Yes, but I would not feel so all alone Everybody must get stoned alright Well, they'll stone you when you walk all alone They'll stone you when you are walking home They'll stone you and then say you are brave They'll stone you when you are set down in your grave But I would not feel so all alone Everybody must get stoned
Sorry. I'm new to UA-cam...I was replying to specific comments and I thought that my replies would appear nested after the comment I replied to (the way it appeared as I typed them) or that it would automatically quote the original comments...now I just have a bunch of consecutive non-sequitors...sorry for flooding the post like that!

@PageandPlant4Life Absolutely! I was also thrilled when I saw it! Got it on some other parts of the concert ... but you have to watch the whole, because I do not know exactly where they are displayed.

Proud to say this is American!
...this is a cool vid :)
Awesome cover, sad video, in my opinion.
Danilo Almeida why do you think it's sad? Everyone seem to be having a blast.
When you are having the hell of a good time, that's great, but senseless, because after the pleasure, come the regrets, trouble, addiction...
i fuckin love the crowes
a fuckin rockin tuen, the bcs rock, i m runnin to corner to get a lid
great mum!
Well, they must have been REALLY stoned. Those are Marshall stacks!
This is going well
This is fucking awesome. It would been cooler if they had more video of the chick at 2:06 though
i hav the cd of this concert its great!!! but now its beated up and it skips sometimes.... the number of spectators is around 1 million n considered this biggest monsters of rock concert ever....
Well, they'll stone you when you're trying to be so good
They'll stone you just like they said they would
They'll stone you when you're trying to go home
And they'll stone you when you're there all alone
But I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned
Well, they'll stone you when you're walking on the street
They'll stone you when you're tryin' to keep your seat
They'll stone you when you're walkin' on the floor
They'll stone you when you're walkin' to the door
But I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned
They'll stone you when you're at the breakfast table
They'll stone you when you are young and able
They'll stone you when you're tryin' to make a buck
Then they'll stone you and then they'll say "good luck"
Tell ya what, I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned
Well, they'll stone you and say that it's the end
Then they'll stone you and then they'll come back again
They'll stone you when you're riding in your car
They'll stone you when you're playing your guitar
Yes, but I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned alright
Well, they'll stone you when you walk all alone
They'll stone you when you are walking home
They'll stone you and then say you are brave
They'll stone you when you are set down in your grave
But I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned
