First, congrats on the boat! It's beautiful! I have a comment on the bottom paint. The way these guys were talking, it doesn't seem like they have much experience painting aluminum paint. They talk about painting your boat like how they do fiberglass boats. I did some research on this clear coat and it seems like the only benefit is cosmetically, it looks better. It has zero anti-fouling chemical so algae will fall off (no green slime) but you'll still have growth and barnacles (pain in the butt to remove). It will also rub off over time. Also, paint won't stick to aluminum. With aluminum boats, normally you apply a 2-part epoxy layer before a paint coat. The epoxy is basically glue and it will stick to aluminum. Epoxy will protect against electrolysis and also give the paint something to stick to; and then the paint goes on to protect against growth. I'd be interested to see a follow up on the clear coat on how it holds up overtime considering it was applied as if it was a fiberglass boat (sand and paint).
Congrats with your new toy, what a sweet thing. I have basicly the same Garmin setup. Its a lot to learn, but it works so well. You are newer going back to sailing without a autopilot.
Love your new boat Chris! Jim is Awesome! He outfitted my 23’ north river couple of years ago and I was very pleased. I upgraded to a 23’ fastback and his got me on the schedule for next week to get all garmin electronics, auto pilot and a lot more. Enjoy your beautiful boat
My Northriver is a 2007 I bought brand new. I just use Streak Master Aluminum Brightener on the non polished aluminum and Bargs polish on the polished areas once a year and the boat looks like new. Wax the white vinyl and paint once a year along with the motors also.
I've been waiting for this video to come out. Congratulations Chris! That is an awesome awesome boat my God. The electronics on that would take me forever to figure out. I'm looking forward to seeing you start putting fish on that thing. Congratulations again!
Chris, man wow awesome boat and setup with equipment! Best of luck with it and I can't wait to see it on the water...I'm sure your excited to fish in it. Congrats!!
Thank you for the review. North River makes a great boat. IMHO 25ft ideal, trailer-able, a day on the lake with friends, or a weekend on the river with family. Work (fishing), or pleasure (tubing/waterskiing)
Very nice. Just met Jim last week. I am looking at installing auto pilot on my NR. If I get in over my head I will take my boat over to Jim 👍🏼and get him to bail me out.
Love the boat Chris. I have the same Garmin 1243xsv on my boat and I like how you can plan in advance on the active captain app on your phone at home before the trip. Waypoints and such will transfer over from the phone to the main screen on the boat when you connect them the day of the trip.
Not your everyday “back of the napkin” kind of plan and effort. To the contrary-a studied, very well thought out and professionally executed result! Looking forward to seeing a related increase in the number of your popular foretelling “black arrows” embedded in future vids.
Great looking boat can't wait to see more adventures from your new boat! Maybe more Tuna finishing this year :) I'm still trying to get my bucket list for Bluefin Tuna.
nice.....How about a front mount trolling motor with Spotlock??? (Minnesota) or that new Garmin motor??? You're right, Jim is the most knowledgeable guy in the business with what REALLY works. Honest and Fair......How does that 250 outboard move that boat, I think that is a big as Honda goes, I usually see these with 300's on them.
Hi Chris I plumbed a bleed tank in my KingFisher after watching your videos in you're 1st North River. However, I watched your 1st video in your new boat and you are using a garbage can to bleed your halibut. What was your thought in not putting a bleed tank in the back tank of your new boat? Thanks Chris. Love your videos.
What does Chris do for work to afford such a boat in the bay aria? No way he is only YT with 20k subs right? Sick boat and my guy apears to be living the dream.
Am I the only one curious about the cost of this vessel after final outfitting for someone who doesn't get discounts for promoting the various products/companies on UA-cam?
@@dogsense3773 a new NR’s may cost the same in every state but to have it fully outfitted in California is probably more expensive than other states on the west coast…
Thank you Chris for the opportunity to work on this fishing machine!!!
Wish Reel Custom was located closer to me…Vancouver WA.
Sweet setup Chris. Thx for sharing!
Thanks for all the hard work you put into my boat making it the best fishing machine out there!
This might be the most helpful boat build video I have ever seen. Thank you!
i appreciate that. thanks for the kind message
good video
I was all smiles watching this video. Pretty excited for you Chris. Hope you are quick to catch some PB'S on your new ride.
Beautiful boat Chris. Love all the new gadgets. Can’t wait to see you catch some fish on this new rig.
Brother that is one nice piece of kit! Hope you and the family get years of memories out of 'er. Trust me, they'll be the best years of your life!
That's probably one of the best outfitted boats on the bay. Very nice!
Boat looks great Chris. Can't wait to see you on the water catching fish!
That is one helluva boat Chris. Congratulations! Mr Q

Congratulation on your new boat Chris. It's an awesome machine.
Nice Boat Captain.
Jim Has Everything You Need And Want..
Absolutely a fantastic boat, thanks for showing us the whole process. Can't wait to see you out on the water with it.

That's a big step up from your first boat! Congrats! Winning the lottery must be nice! 😛
Awesome boat looking forward to videos

Mistake!! The polish I use is actually Gords, not Bargs. It is really good polish for aluminum and not too hard to apply...
I've been waiting for this video to come out. Congratulations Chris! That is an awesome awesome boat my God. The electronics on that would take me forever to figure out. I'm looking forward to seeing you start putting fish on that thing. Congratulations again!
Congrats Chris, That boat is bad AS$! Can't wait to see some catching of it!

Amazing!
You are living the dream
Can’t blame the equipment now - very very cool setup👌
That clam shell rod holder is very cool! I ordered the same Garmin FF. Your boat is a stunner!
Awesome boat! May you have many maintenance free hours of huge limits!🙌
Your boat looks great. I love all the upgrades!!!!
So sweet! Congrats.
Nice vessel. Great set-up. Looking forward to seeing you use it. 👍
Wow super nice! Congratulations.

Looks AWESOME!!! Now go get that thing bloody! Nice Work Jim @reelcustomboatworks...Always quality stuff!!!

Awesome rigging but what was his reason to put the charging port on the outside?
Very nice looking boat, have you named the boat
Sick boat. I'm curious what's the gph and speed/rpm at idle cruise and wide open? My boat sips but is God awful slow
I see you have a Honda outboard, how many horsepower. Lon time viewer an d enjoy your videos. Tight lines…
its 250hp. thanks for watching
Sweet boat. A price breakdown would be great
150K for boat 50k on outfit ? my guess
at least 250k for the boat
That’s 8 mile dock thought it look familiar 😂😂😂
Jelly about the autopilot
So Chris when are you taking on customers to catch bay halibut and stripers? 😅
How long is that bottom paint expected to last?
two to three years
What a bad ass set up bro. What’s the name of the boat ? Lol
Am I the only one curious about the cost of this vessel after final outfitting for someone who doesn't get discounts for promoting the various products/companies on UA-cam?
!🔥!
Did they quote the price?
Lucky man. That was probably a 120,000 dollar bill.😮
Or more in California
Same price in every state
@@dogsense3773 a new NR’s may cost the same in every state but to have it fully outfitted in California is probably more expensive than other states on the west coast…
Chris, do you have another job too or do UA-cam full time? That boat looks amazinnggggggg. Better than my piece of plastic… 😅
another job. youtube doesnt pay enough to live on unless you get to 50-100k views a video.
@@ChrisPfish2 that’s what I thought, but I was hoping I was wrong hahaha. Do you mind if I ask what you do for work? I might need to switch jobs 😅
All that automatic stuff is making me sleepy. Is there an alarm for "captain asleep" ?
you always needs a look out! no matter what
since they put that on your ladder is hat not gonna make that super slippery climbing out of the water ? seems dangerous to me
What?
🎉🎉🎉
👀👀🔥🔥🔥
FIRST
No salmon… No down riggers? You need a stainless steel propeller! 👀
Now you all know what $250k can get you.
the price of hull maxx hurts my brain
cool rod holders…if the designers employed the right engineered resins, they’ll last forever.
whoops...I mean MINNKOTA not Minnesota!
Fishing pole? Rod holder…must be a pole holder.
