I’ve been having an electrical drain on my battery followed by anytime I plug in the battery this alarm goes off. The sound from the video made me shiver. Still trying to find the problem honestly
if you buy new battery for siren unit cut it open and unplug old siren battery before plugging in new battery, does it affect any codes in alarm? will the siren still work in the car or will it need to be programmed to the car ecu etc ?
Nothing to worry about this siren module (there are other modules in the car that need attention but not this one). You can also drive with it disconnected or with the fuse removed, there will be a short message and yellow triangle at start up which disappear after a few seconds. Can install any used siren without any programming. Be sure to use the correct batteries though, several forums suggest chinese batteries which don't have the same Ampers (or have fake numbers) as the genuine battery: this will cause the battery to fail after 1-2 years. The genuine battery was 7.2V Ni-MH 240mAh. You can replace with more mAh but not with less.
@@Peppermint1 is there anywhere else I could find the varta battery? The link is no longer up, and I’ve search the web and can’t seem to be able to find anything. Besides a battery store website but they charge a minimum of 100 to order which is ridiculous. I only need the 25 dollar battery. Any suggestions? I’m also not sure how to build a replacement battery myself so
