Teams that sell more hotdogs = teams with more fans in attendance = teams that sell more tickets = teams that have more money = teams that can afford better players = teams that win more games
Money makes money.
Remember, correleation always = causation
(Except for this season)
Well even better. More fans in attendance= winning record and you can cut out some steps.
Correlation not causation
The Philly fan that got domed by the Hot Dog has admitted her fault in terms of not being aware of her surroundings. Allegedly, she's said "At least it was just a Hot Dog, not a Baseball"
Solid woman right there. What a sport. Hope they have her some tix at least.
Yeah i mean its a cannon and all but i believe they give u kinda a countdown, if everyone in ur section is going crazy and u dont look up and see the hot dog gun straight at u lmao its on u, still feel bad for her tho bc she seemed very nice and is a great sport
Probably worse. That canon fucking launches them
Hopefully they covered her medical bill.
When I was younger, the Phillies did a 1.00 dog night once a month.... They even had some 1.00 dog days too for some business person specials, I was at all three of them this year and the crowds were absolutely insane. Two of the Three we're held on "College Nights" and some peope I spoke with missed up to 4 innings trying to get food.
I was at the May 9th one during the infamous dollar dog wave
I went to college night/dollar dog night. I guy ran onto the field slid into second base then tried to jump the fence in left. I remember the whole crowd chanting MVP as the guy was escorted from the field. It was the most hilarious moment in going to Phillies games.
I waited 4 innings for four dogs that night. I really missed the Marlins first ever cycle for that 😅
I usually hate hot dogs bot those hatfields are amazing
I was at one of the Phillies dollar dog nights last season. Someone threw dogs at Julio Rodriguez and Jarred Kelenic and it was one of the funniest things I've seen at a game in ages.

This channel is single handedly turning me into a fan of baseball. The MLB should be taking notes.
This guy, and jomboy media are bringing new fans to mlb, they show passion for the game, and why they love it. Something main stream media has no idea how to do.
These channels keep our interest because they are entertaining and break down years of stats and events into 20 minutes. Or an entire game/season recap in 3. Baseball games are too long and too boring lol
Couldn't agree more. Watched as a kid. Fell out during the steroid era. My young naive brain couldn't handle finding out all my Heros were juicing. Fast forward and I'm still well aware a lot of these dudes have ..help for a lack of better term but this channel, jomboy, and watching Shohei smash records and make history brought me back in. I also for once in my life live in a city with a pro team (grew up in Alaska so wasn't an option prior). Those things combined with an interest in collecting cards to learn more about players, stats, etc and I've more consistently followed then ever before.
AMENl I have not followed MLB in 7 years and BDE owner/creator has his craft down.
I am really hung over and needed to throw up. This video is what pushed me over the edge, THANK YOU BDE!
Best of luck in the recovery 🫡
You must be really proud of yourself.
@@JaysonT1I’m proud of OP. Knows their own body.
cant skip lunch! also my farts smell way worse then that, they make you throw up your pretty little lunch.
This man knows how to grab our attention and keep it. The music to how he speaks loud and strong like something crazy is about to go down. It's very addicting to watch all the videos if you haven't seen them.
for real 💯
Does do a good job keeping people interested in watching with the openings
Love UA-cam Joey. He’s very soft spoken and chill during the podcasts. Always love seeing this side of him.
You could tell me a stadium hot dog is gonna take 3 years off my life, I'm still gonna get one everytime I go
The guy that never eats one to preserve his health gets hit by a mack truck one day anyways and the hot dog guy is still around, in fact he's at the Dodgers game eating hot dogs this weekend lol....
BDE really cut the mustard on this one, I always relish the opportunity to see what comes next but I gotta ketchup on the older videos first.
I don't get it ☹️
@@tacittalks9378 Hot dog jokes.
This comment made me want to cut onions.
Unsanitary practices in the food industry is so commonplace. But if you think about the fact its usually a sweaty, hairy man who has been behind a hot grill for 7+ hours and likely has to deal with a barrage of verbal abuse, it makes sense that food isn't handled with love all the time
Its not the guy doing the actual cooking you need to worry about. Its the storage and handling of raw and already cooked foods.
The fact that there’s a national hot dog and sausage council is funny as hell to me.
theres a lobby for everything. everyone wants government doles even if they say they dont...
It's even funnier for the animals and workers lol.
The reason why I'm getting into baseball is because of hotdogs and BDE. Thank you for being a beacon of light to baseball
6:40 "can be eaten with 1 hand"
Hot dog enjoyers can confirm this is 110% scientifically accurate
Baby blue
BRO IS EVERYWHERE
This dude
It’s crazy how I just watched a 15 minute video about hotdogs
Then I spent the next twenty minutes reading comments on a video about hot dogs
As a person who lives in a country that legitimately doesn't believe Baseball exists, this video speaks to me in a deep level. Like, "I can legitimately fund a sports team using profits from selling hotdogs during their games" deep. I never thought of that...
You may think this will stop me from getting hotdogs despite it being basically mystery meat, I’m afraid it will not
Based
I've been hearing people talk about hot dogs being gross since the 80's and I say whatever, everything is gross if you think about it, gross is subjective
@@MissAmazanda People have been saying hot dogs (and sausages in general) have been suspicious mystery meat for literally thousands of years.
@@AirLancer
Have joke dated back to the 1200s about it:
A Man walks into the Sausage Butcher's Shop and asks for a discount as he had been a loyal customer for ten years.
"And you're still alive!?" Roared the Sausage Butcher.
In terms of marketing and business strategies, hotdogs are the gold standard of food that you can have/eat at a ballgame. Although they are incredibly tasty and a classic food item to get, my money's on the brats. If you're a Brewers fan like me, every tailgate you have with your friends and family in the parking lot(s) during a Brewers game has to have brats in the mix. Outside of our cheese and milk, it's a Midwest staple here in the state of Wisconsin.
Brats are the wurst.
The hot dog kayak in McCovey Cove is amazing. Also pretty neat tidbit about the hotdog bun being invented by vendors at a NY Giants game.
Great video. Hot dogs are just as much a part of baseball culture in the minors as well. I grew up going to see the Bluefield Orioles in the Appalachian League. They were renowned for having outstanding hot dogs, especially when topped with chili. The lead cook at Bowen Field in those days was a woman who worked at a local supermarket during the day and she made everything fresh for every game. Even considering the picturesque ballpark I was privileged to dine in, I don't think I will ever have a better hot dog in my life.
Absolutely dying at the placement of a meal delivery service ad right after showing some guy spitting in food, and right before going into some absolutely disgusting details about how gross the hot dogs are. I'm sure they absolutely loved that.
I've never been more proud to be from Philly
The timing of this right after a hot dog stand owner almost took over the world’s largest stockpile of nukes is pretty on point.
Also, Sabrett natural casing hot dogs are the food of the Gods.
Damn I kind of want a hot dog now. 😂😂
This video made me want a hotdog so bad that I actually paused halfway through mid myself to hotdogs and enjoyed those bad boys by watching the rest of this incredible video
As a hot dog lover, I approve this video.

BDE always bringing us the baseball stories we didn’t know we needed
I went to the 2nd phillies $1 dog night. Lines were an hour long. I waited the whole 3-6 innings to buy $16 (we had a group of 4 and bought 4 per person)
You know it’s a good day when BDE uploads 🎉

I don't watch baseball outside of the world series every few years. I couldn't tell you anything about modern rules, players etc but the baseball lore this channel provides is tremendous.
hey man just wanted to let you know that thanks to your videos i became a baseball fan. all my friends are die hard baseball fans so when i started talking baseball they were pretty surprised to say the least but very supportive . I even got to to see my two favorite teams in person duke it out in person. tysm for the gift of baseball
Your videos are super high quality, keep doing your thing
As an avid football and basketball fan who is a more casual baseball fan, I wish there was a channel like yours for both of those sports, alas, you're 1 of 1
I think concessions in general should be affordable. Make baseball into dinnet and a show for a low price ticket. You could fill the stands even if the team sucks.
Except beer. Cleveland learned what happens when you lower the beer price the hard way.
@@jackvankirk8552 yeah expensive beer helps with safety for sure. Plus if they did one dollar beer it attracts the troublemaking crowd.
I honestly don't really care for baseball really, but I really enjoy your content. Keep it up !
A few years ago, a buddy and I went to a game at Target field. It was about 102 degrees. We waved down the hot dog guy walking up the stairs, and he stopped for us. As he was leaning over and putting my hot dog into the bun, we watched beads of sweat drip off the tip of his nose into the hot dog water with the rest of the dogs... Well, we ate ours, but let's just say, I won't be ordering from the mobile vendors anymore. LOL!
It's just salty water. Extra seasoning.
Why tf was the hot dog not in the bun already? lol I've never seen a mobile vendor that didn't have the hot dogs packed up, ready to sell lol
@@c__rivsome have it in the metal containers in the water and have all the toppings there and its given to u in like a basket not pre packed, every stadium does it differently, Miami doesn’t do the mobile hot dog sales at all this year I’ve noticed.
@@c__riv He had em all in the hot water and had buns separate.
Yuck man how did you eat that? I bet it would be hard to justify not eating it though because I bet it cost 12 bucks lol
As a Philly fan who’s been to one of our legendary dollar dog nights, yeah crowd gets PACKED it’s fun
I used to work at both the baseball and football stadium in my city. All those claims of finding stuff are pure lies. For hotdogs what we do is grab large quantities out of hotel trays and then put grill marks on them. They're then kept in cold storage until they are needed after which they are just thrown onto baking trays and put into the oven. They then get put out onto rolling carts and delivered to the various vendors. It's basically the same for sausages as well except we precook them in pressure pots for a bit with various herbs/spices/aromatics and dunked into an ice bath to stop the cooking process. Then it's onto the same treatment we give for the hotdogs i/e grill marks, oven, delivery. There's not really any place that rubber bands or razors could be introduced to them except by the customer themselves. We don't even use razors in the kitchen for anything.
I worked at a basketball/concert arena so it was a bit different but we still sold lots of hot dogs and its pretty similar to how you described, the rubber bands and bones and stuff tho that could be from the packing plant, I did find a tiny piece of bone in my hotdog once as a kid, thought i cracked my tooth but it was bone, depends on the brand razor tho sounds crazy to me that has to be a customer gives off razors in halloween candy vibes
@John2000sBaby yeah the sausage grinder doesn't care what's put into it so all of these issues are probably classic Upton Sinclair The Jungle stuff.
People have been saying this crap since I was a kid 40 years ago, i found this in my food and i found that, some people just want attention no matter what it takes to get it....
@@MissAmazanda lmao the one that comes to mind was the finger in the Wendys chili
Honestly, this video just entices me more to pursue my dream of being a Hotdog Mogul...
Every time you mentioned something crazy happening at a stadium in the teaser, I assume it was at a Phillies game.
1:24 this is hands down the greatest frame in all of UA-cam history
As a Jays fan, 2 a year is soft! Loonie Dogs happens at every Tuesday home game at the Rogers Centre. That's about 14 times a season. ALSO we just built an entire new outfield section called "Schneider's Porch" dedicated to selling hotdogs.
yup
We have Dollar Dog Night every Tuesday at Minute Maid Park here in Houston too.
I remember my first or second game at Truist Park I got a hotdog and it made me sick… good times
It's hard to beat relaxing at a game, eating a hot dog and drinking your beverage of choice.
The box of hot digs being blown up and a fan having a 20 year old hot dog got me good.
And here I thought Joey Chestnut was the biggest ambassador for the hotdog industry.
The teams that sold the most hot dogs had the most wins. But it’s opposite. They sold the most hotdogs because they were winning and had higher attendance.
A case of the chicken or the egg question...
It doesn't matter what anyone says about them, hotdogs at the game is pure Americana. It doesn't matter if it's baseball, football, hockey or any other sport and it doesn't matter if it's highschool, collage, minor, major league or any other level of play. There's just something special about getting a dog or two at the game and that's not changing any time soon!
bde singlehandedly got me into baseball, loving these vids
Love these vids guys! Love to se a series featuring each team and their weirdness.
I stopped eating hot dogs at baseball games because 7.50 for a single hot dog is insane
The Columbus clippers a minor league team till this day still does dime a dog night. Multiple times a year. Check out your minor league, it's cheaper, and more fun I think.
Does baseball exist?
Not anymore sadly D:
i’m still trying to figure that out
In our hearts, yes.
No
Thank you guys i was wondering
Yo wtf happened, I subbed when you had 15k subs and suddenly you have 600k??? Good for you, super happy that I know I got a steady stream of baseball videos now lmao. Honestly surprised there's this much of an audience for baseball content on UA-cam but I think that's more a testament to how good your videos are. Have a good one, hope you get that gold play button soon.
The history with the hot dog is just so rich. In some cities the .50 cent ticket and nickel hot dog in 1929 was a families only meal of the day.
And I thought I couldn't love hotdogs anymore... Go Braves!
as a hotdog hater i still watched this video because he is that good at making videos😂
The guy in the thumbnail honestly makes going to A’s games worth it, dude is just that entertaining

I was at the hot dog wave game this year vs Toronto. Best experience of my life. also, there were USA chants in the stadium after beating them lmao

Dude, I’m not exaggerating I don’t even watch baseball that much but I love your content. I literally enjoy watching your stuff more than watching an actual MLB game.
It's like Christmas morning, unwrapping a fresh bde video
very well constructed video. bravo
It’s always a better day when Baseball Doesn’t Exist posts
At oriole park a normal hot dog is 8.25, at Costco a way bigger hot dog is 1.50, sometimes in Philadelphia hot dogs are 1$. AT ROGERS CENTER EVERY TUESDAY HOME GAME IS LOONEY DOG NIGHT (looneys are less than a dollar)
I lived in Milwaukee many years ago, and i gotta say that sauce they used at County Stadium on the hot dogs was awesome. Best hot dogs I've ever had.
this is a fantastic video … like all of your videos. def best baseball channel on earth
so glad the vendor screaming in it made this video, he worked at the old rangers stadium and i remember seeing him at every game i went to, he would walk to the bottom of a section and yell hot dogs at the top of his lungs, he was a true icon 9:19
loving the frank the tank cameo. great stuff as usual
i love your channel i’ve been subscribed for a long time.
Going to Dollar Dog Night tomorrow at Kauffman Stadium. Great timing!
