I like the shoes are compatible with both mountain and road bikes. I like that you can kind of “comfortably” walk on the shoes because of the outsole/lugs compared to your traditional clip-less shoes. I love that you brought up the hot spots in the shoes which I’ve actually just experienced recently when I rode my bike this week... I had no idea “hot spots” actually occur even in cycling. Overall, awesome review. Another product that I may consider buying... but let me upgrade my road bike first. Lol. Perhaps a new road bike review from TrailSage? I would love to see that. Hehe. I love the shirt! Where can I order one? And obviously the bloopers as always. 👍🏼😬
Thanks Marvin! Yeah, I was really disappointed in the hot spots, especially because of how expensive the shoes were. I am thinking of doing a full bike quiver video at some point but I am waiting on a few parts. As for the shirt, thanks man. It's my buddy's shop and I designed that logo for him. He is a small shop and unfortunately I don't think he is selling them online.
The hair dryer test was awesome not seen anyone else do that Sage. Very clever! Good job you had the tissue handy for the coffee splash! 🤣 damn that motor bike! 🤣 keep up the great work mate! 😎🤘🏻
These Specialized shoes are a little too specialized for my biking capabilities, but I truly appreciate your attention to detail! Keep pushing my friend!
Thanks for the transparency and honesty, Sage. Comfort is definitely a key criteria, I've had Specialized shoes for my road bike that had hot spots. The bloopers are getting better and better, I think we need a blooper highlight reel lol.
Thanks Reto. These are the first pair of Specialized Shoes that gave me an issue. I have about 4 pairs in my quiver. As for the bloopers, I am planning on doing a reel on my 1 year anniversary (assuming I make it that long, lol)
@@TrailSage hey bro, I hope you don't stop making UA-cam videos or I will be a very sad subscriber. LOL. A weekly dose of TrailSage is essential! Keep going brother or at least wait til we make a collab vlog together! HAHAHAHA. Once they ease up on the restriction at the US-CANADA border this summer, there's a big possibility my family and I will stop in Pennsylvania on our way to Washington DC to visit my family there. Plus we gotta do a race on the Rocky Steps. LOL.
@@AvinMarv Ha! Thanks for the motivation Marvin. I have enjoyed making these videos, appreciated the opportunities it's brought me, and most importantly meeting folks like you and Reto.
Boa seems to have made it into all sorts of footwear, I still don't own any but we've been selling this style of lacing in snowboarding boots for years now. Great review Sage 👍🏃
I just went straight to the bloopers. Haha! Kidding. Great quality, nice T-shirt, thanks for being honest, although nice and nuanced on a shoe review 👍.
Oh! Nice logo!!! Wow. Maybe if you scattered bloopers throughout the videos, it'd force us to watch the whole of it for some laughs? (not that we need that to watch the whole video...).
Great honest review, Sage! I will be looking for a pair in the near future, and it gets quite warm here so I may want to skip these. Love the bloopers! lol
I would stop by the shop that you bought your bike from Steven. They will have a variety of shoes for you to test and choose from. Thanks for watching.

First bought S-Wrosk Recon (2020) now I bought Recon 2.0. S-Works - great power transfer, unparalleled to anything I owned (also NorthWave hand made shoes with carbon bed) but they are .... slippery, I need to 'handle a 26kg e-bike on granit stairs, ... soo as a shoe for ridding: S-Works are absolutely great with adjustability and power and weight. BUT... and this is me, they are 'hazardous' :D for walking ... and Recon 2.0 - woooow those I can walk, ride and do not 'slip'. Would I spent for S-works knowing how good Recon 2.0 are? ... depends, gravel, not e-mtb applications or minimal-assist e-bikes (Turbo Levo SL).
I don't own a pair of the Recon 3s, but I would imagine the two Boa design would definitely help the lock down. The materials look to be the same otherwise.
Just bought the Recon Two-Shoes they felt comfortable in the showroom after a few rides they are digging into my ankles. Waste of money. Should have bit the bullet and purchased sidi.
Most uncomfortable MTB shoes I've ever owned. Digging into the front of my heel. There is a freaking seam under the tongue. Did specialized actually test these shoes?
Depends on which bike, for the SS and road bike it's the Shimano M520s. On the Mojo 3 I have the XTR and I forget what I have on the fat bike. All of them are SPD though.

Lol, I totally recycling that tissue from the hair dryer test for the coffee spill! Thanks for the feedback Ben, I always enjoy hearing from you.
These Specialized shoes are a little too specialized for my biking capabilities, but I truly appreciate your attention to detail! Keep pushing my friend!
I hear ya Paul, there are better shoe options in my opinion anyway. Thank you for the kind words.
Good review, as always Sage! Nice thing BOA, though, was really good to have one more. Very funny final part!
Thanks Mihai. I couldn't believe the coffee hit me directly in the eye, lol.
Great looking shoe, like the idea of being more comfortable and not doing the stiff penguin walk in my current road shoes ! Another top quality review
lol right?! Thanks for watching James.

Thanks Martin. Yeah I'm not sure I am a fan of the Boa but I may have to get used to it, lol
Your commentary is always on point, as is the amount of detail when reviewing products.
Thank you so much! I try and be as detailed and honest as possible without any of the fluff.
I just went straight to the bloopers. Haha! Kidding. Great quality, nice T-shirt, thanks for being honest, although nice and nuanced on a shoe review 👍.
lol, that is what I am worried about with including the bloopers. As for the shirt thanks. Its my buddies bike shop and I designed that logo for him.

Great review Sage. It’s nice to know what I should be aware of when buying a bike shoe. I just loved your close out!! Hahaha 😂
Ha, thanks Gill. I will try and do more of that in all my videos

@@TrailSage Yes they do have a pair of mountain shoes in stock. Thanks!
Wow your riding trails looks so nice, great review of the shoes, here for more great contents from you.🙏
Yeah, I am lucky to have so many great trails close to me. Thank you so much for watching.
Nice review. Your forest looks almost like mine, only some waterfalls missing. 😍
Lol, your forest are much cooler! Thanks for watching
Another great review! Production quality is awesome!
Thx Dan!
Thats a very nice mtb shoes Sage
Thx Jelan. They are not for me but maybe it will fit someone else better.
Good shoes. Surprisingly I don’t see many people wearing spesh shoes maybe they’ll be my next pair
I would check out the Shimano AM9s for the kind of riding you like. I will review those some time soon. I love mine.
Have these, and the hot spots are a problem. Would only recommend these for people racing against me.
Lol! Yeah, I hear ya Matthew. I hope they fix it in future models.
Great review! Thanks for sharing all the details 👍😍
Right on, hope it helped. Thanks for watching
Great in-depth review!
Thanks for watching Kris!
never knew about this kind of shoes!

The S-Works looks like an amazing shoe Michal but you are right, they would be tough to walk in. Thank you for watching and the feedback.
What kind of clips and pedals should we use on this pair?
Thanks for the video!
Hey Diego, the Recons are designed with a two bolt pattern so Shimano SPD cleats work best. Thanks for watching.
Hi, is the recon 3.0 any better or similar design and material?
I don't own a pair of the Recon 3s, but I would imagine the two Boa design would definitely help the lock down. The materials look to be the same otherwise.

Hey Daniel, I feel your pain brotha. I am saving up my money to buy something different too. I’ll keep these as back ups.
Nice review and talk man. Thumbs up from a fellow creator 😅
Thank you so much Ethan

I wonder the same exact thing Daniel. It seems like they should have picked up on these issues before they went to market.
Which pedals do you use?
