I was really lucky to be working for Disney when Marlee came to present at the American Gardens Theatre at EPCOT for the Candlelight Processional. A group of students, I think from a local school for the deaf, came to the park for the day and to see Marlee. I didn't get to meet her, but the students were so gracious in my attempts at ASL (even the girl I had to warn for smoking 😬). There's still a huge gap between the deaf and hearing communities it seems, but I really do think she has helped bridge that.

Its interesting about the interpreter the actress was a guest speaker at my university and I was SHOCKED at how well the interpreter on screen was interpreting. One of the students asked him how he got into his career and it turns out his parents were deaf so I then understood how he was so fluent between the languages.

She is likely a nice person but you seem too quick to judge someone's character by the way they look. What you see is usually what people want you to see. Do yourself a favor and look deeper. Watch how people treat others before you make decisions of trust. People lie. Some are better at it than others. You can do better. This is not meant as any kind of attack, just a seed I wish someone would have planted in my head at a much younger age.

There is very definitely warmth coming through in her expressions, her thoughts and words and in her wide smile that reaches her eyes and is genuine. That is my opinion. If you have a different opinion so be it. Just don't leap to conclusions about how I came to my analysis. If you had really understood my original comments we wouldn't be having this conversation.

I had the strong silent father he was the type that when he did speak everyone listened,he was a no nonsense 💯 type and very humble but his parents were poor my dad worked @ 6years of age during the depression, his nickname was Gramps as he had an old head on young shoulders. His parents couldn't afford to pay for his high schooling, he had a calculator for a brain, he worked many jobs but his final job was as a supervisor to a group in an insurance company, he was VERY successful due to his work ethic, he provided for us his family very well, I admired him greatly, Ivwas his only girl and he loved me dearly without words but in actions, he was my hero, I had 4a good mother who was more verbose with her feelings, even mum was a bit envious of his feelings towards me, He never once told me off even when I made mistakes, he always said you can't change the past BUT You can learn by it and move on with a positive attitude. I miss him deeply every day, I accepted my mums passing as she was SO ill the last 9years of her life, we were both with her as she passed, it was relief to see her out of pain.
My dad was also a great sports person that won everything there was to win in a lot of sports, I wear his mail medal gold on a chain with his description of the best most brilliant footballer of the year. He was one of a kind and it was a privilege toblook after him after mum passed in the week of their 65th wedding anniversary. Love and muss them both but yes I guess I was daddy's girl. 💯👍🐨🇦🇺🦘

@I AM : you come over as so negative and unappreciative. I do appreciate it when people do their job right. It is one thing to translate, it is another thing to translate someone's feeling so that a broad audience can understand on a deeper emotional level. That is not how every interpreter does his job. Some just roughly translate. But communication is not only words it is more (body language, mimics, intonation, timming and in his case even predictable skills, ...) - this is why this man deserves credit.

He had meningitis and was treated. Seemed fine then as time went by they noticed he seemed delayed. Took him to the Dr and the Dr got after them for not realizing his deafness. My parents always felt guilty that they didn’t notice sooner. He received surgeries and many, many Dr visits. His hearing improved enough that he joined the Air Force after college, raised a family and is now retired.

How frustrating and devastating. Meningitis itself can cause deafness, however a few decades ago certain antibiotics known as aminoglycosides (such as gentamicin, now banned in some countries) would be prescribed to treat infections. It was later learned that several of these antibiotics were ototoxins and caused deafness in children. For a while the thought was, you’re still alive so be grateful…..

I love hearing Marlee's voice - I had never heard her speak before - and what a wonderful reading!
What Tyler did for Marlee is a giant gift. I, too, have been given the gift of knowing that we don't really 'die' and it changed my entire perspective on life, death, and everything in between. Of course, our loved ones mean the world to us, but knowing that, if one of them dies, they are more alive, healthier and happier, than ever before - that they've just become 'invisible' to (most of) us - is such a gift.
Our loved ones in Spirit really do continue to impact our lives from the other side and will be there to meet us when it is our time. THAT 'knowing' is a huge relief to those who have grieved -- and a rare, beautiful gift to those who receive it. I wish everyone could really, truly, 'know' -- I think of all the tears, pain and grief that could be spared, if people didn't have to rely on faith, but KNEW, without doubt, that we never really die. Thanks for the upload, E!

Omg I never knew about her having an addiction caused from trauma etc. Another thing I can relate to her about as well. I self medicated for a long time to deal with my pain of being sexually abused by my father. The way they dealt with my trauma was by having me overly medicated starting me on the benzo Ativan at the age of 7 and having me on 9 medications until age 18 when I went to an adult doctor and they informed me I had been misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder. The doctor said I had severe anxiety and COMPLEX PTSD.

Also as a person that suffers from numerous autoimmune disorders myself (to the point I have been permanently disabled since the age of 32, and let me tell you that was never part of my plan and I'm still learning how to deal with the complications and many, many doctors appointments and specialists and meds/ tests/ surgeries etc as well as the limitations on my physical body which certainlycan affect a person spiritually as well) I can tell you that from my research any and all autoimmune disorders are two parts: first there has to be a genetic predisposition (which doesn't necessarily mean another family member had it z you may be the first but you have to have the gene or whatever in your body present in your DNA makeup to make you susceptible) and second there has to be an environmental trigger, which can be anything from like talked about here an illness but also could be a medication, something in the environment (allergy to pollen) or even exposure to a certain chemical or something along those lines. I'm sure there are more environmental factors what I listed is by no means all inclusive, just trying to help give some people general information that is known. I really the Tyler's gift is genuine unlike countless others. The fact that he goes to these celebs without knowing who they are ahead of time and sometimes even after meeting them he still has no idea who some of them are, and pick up on things the way he does. Wow

I have admired Marlee for many years, both for her incredible acting and for her determination to overcome her deafness. Now I have another reason to admire her-- for overcoming her addiction, which, until now, I was unaware of. GOD BLESS you Marlee 🙏 👍

This is probably the most beautiful read from Tyler in my opinion. Her story is so moving and the way Jack’s voice complements her is so moving! Love it Marlee!
